I definitely think you can do both. Excercise is good for body, mind and soul. Anyone who has a problem with that doesn’t deserve your attention.

That’s awesome. More often than not, that’s how you will notice new strength. Not from a new trick necessarily, but an everyday action that you do and think, “hey, that was easy” or “wow, that used to hurt to do that”.
    Congrats!

I hear you! My days rarely go to plan and the workout seems to be the thing that gets shoved aside. I got back on my pole on Wednesday did the Day 10 workout from the 30 Day take off and then moved on to my spinning pole work.

Some clips from today’s spin pole practice.

Awesome! I hope you are enjoying the no pole program. Veena’s programs are so well put together. This site was my main learning method when I started pole about 12 years ago, and I keep coming back.

I recently got a new pole (my 3rd one now, lol) with a smaller diameter (40mm instead of 45mm) and it has improved my grip so much. I’m working on learning some proper spin pole techniques and hopefully more advanced poses that I couldn’t get before because of grip problems. I’ll post a video here next time I practice to share what I’m working on. 😀

I’m working through the 30 day take off as a strength and conditioning workout guide coming back from a break in pole training. I’ve done up to Day 9 but I only do a couple days a week so you’ll catch up and pass me quickly. I’m pairing the workouts from 30 day take off with the 30 day spin pole program to add something new and fun!

Love shop and Stag shop usually have a few varieties of Pleasers in stock. Its a good place to try stuff on and determine what styles you like, and what size fits best. If nothing else it will give you a better idea of what size to order online if you decide to go that route.

Beginner or not you are always better to start slow if you want to avoid injury. I’m assuming this schedule is in addition to other non-flex training that you are already doing.
I would start by doing one routine each day mentioned the first week. If that feels good, do both split routines one day, back flex one day and whatever feels good for the third day of the second week. If you still feel like you want more give your plan a go on week three. You will find your limit without so much pressure and risk of overdoing it.

  • I’ll bet most of us have! I know I am lucky in some ways. My hubby let me turn our whole living room into a pole space (we made a nice den in the basement instead) so I have tons of horizontal space and floor area which is great for floorwork and standing work but my ceiling is just over 7.5feet high so I feel terribly limited that way and it drives me crazy. I can reach to the top of the pole while standing on the floor and in heels…well it’s not even a stretch. I have learned how to work with it for the most part but long aerial combos are pretty much impossible and I know I have a lot of bad habits because of the height limitations especially when it comes to inverting. But oh well, we just make the best with whatever we have I guess.

  • Place a board of plywood across two joists and put up the pole under that. It will spread the load to the joists and hopefully avoid more damage to the ceiling. I wouldn’t leave it between joists just on the drywall, if it were to break through while doing a spin or invert it could potentially fall and really hurt you.

One option might be to mount a piece of plywood across the two beams and then set the pole up under the plywood. It should help spread the load across the middle to the beams.

Dirty Girl Poletice is a grip aid for sweaty handed folks like us. It changed my life!

I want to add that working on the negative of the movement and trying to stop and hold the position with your toes just above the floor might help too. ☺

I set up my phone on the floor (I just lean it against a wall or chair) about 10-12′ away from the pole. More distance is better but you just have to work with whatever you have available. ☺
