Just out of curiosity, does this have the xjoints or is it an older pole? I know the old xpoles were top loading. If those 3 hex screws are in place can you lift the adjuster cover over them (as in slide up instead of down)?

And just so others can see I am embedding your photo

I have never seen the bottom of an xpole like that. I would contact xpole and send that picture to them.

They also practice their routines on the entire set up prior to comp. The problem with Worlds was stage lighting and air conditioning. If you watch her entire routine that was not the only time she slipped (as well as many other performers). If it had not been for her circus training that could have been a lot worse for her. From what I understand she taught all of her workshops the next day as if nothing had happened.

I just saw that part of my post got cut off. It was supposed to start as "Most likely the hex screws are not lined up right…"
-
hex screws are notlined up right and are sticking out the holes. On my pole the screws are not *perfectl* lined up. If you read the directions, it states to screw one in a bit and then wiggle the pole back and forth to make sure that it seats in the groove, then tighten. The hex screws will recess a few mm into that hole.

I did not even know they had jackets…..

When I had my pole out in my garage I went to Lowes and bought a piece of smooth panelling and placed that on the floor under my pole.
If your garage is not air conditioned you will have lots of issues with poling pretty much most of the year.

When you are in the tucked position your arms should be bent and tight to your body. Pretty much all you have to do it look up and straighten your arms. If you arms are NOT bent and tight to your body, rework your tucks. You should be in a tight little ball when you bring those knees up.

Since you know you are going to be moving around a lot and you never know your housing, I would strongly suggest looking into an X pole. That being said, most poles have a rating up to 250 lbs (some a little over, some a little under).
