Those are definitely the XPole tubes. I am not sure if the fake ones ship in tubes like that. Lyme??
I also definitely see X Joints in one of the pictures.

In those pictures that is definitely the new base. Those pics and the original pic she had on the site are 2 totally different poles.
Ask her to flip the dome upside down and get a picture and also see if she can get a close up of the base.

And really Lyme? I ahve not seen any of the fake XPoles come with teh carrying cases (at least they are not shown in any of the pics). Did yours come with allen wrenches, too?

You need a long hendle, like from a broom or a long thick dowel. Basically put the rod in the pole, turn it upside down and strike it on the ground. I thought there was a video flating around about it.
The joints are I think $20 a piece. They have redesigned them so this is no longer an issue. I do not know if they are on the site but you can call them and order them.

See, I won't buy anything unless they accept paypal. Even on items that cannot be returned if you can prove that what you were sold was not what was advertised then you will get your money back. It may not be instantly but you will get your money.

I did not even notice that they were the old style screw together. I do know that I have never seen the fake ones with a carrying case. I have a feeling the person who listed them does not know a whole lot about them and just took the info off of the XPole site or used the drop down suggestions on the ebay site.
And, yeah, it is not a 40.

Veena, those are the bottoms for the X Sport poles, but it seems odd that there is a dome with the Sports as opposed to the flat top.

First off is the tools, second, the carrying case, third, it appears that lindsgotts91 has actually talked to this person, forth, the price. Lastly, the cheap ones never say XPole in their writeups, let alone call it out as an XPert. They will have an X in the listing but will never actually call it an X (look at the descriptions I have listed below). One even calls it an expert (notice the misspelling).
If you have concerns, contact the seller and see if you can talk to her directly.

Finding the work safely- start checking with any burlesque troupes in your area and see the gigs that they are perfoming at. I know that a LOT of "alternative" events will willingly hire pole dancers. There are a few fetish events that go on here in Cleveland that are always looking for performers. There was also a big adult expo in Columbus that a few girls got hired to perform at. I will say that the fetish balls probably have some of the most respectful people to deal with. These are the people who know the meaning of the word no and are more apt to appreciate the skill it takes to do what we do. They will ask before they invade your space before they invade your space unless you invite them. There will be a few that are curious and have never been to such an event that may be out of control but all you need to do is tell someone and the offending party will be asked to quit it or leave and they will be escorted out.
Another option is getting in touch with any biker group or biker event or even biker bar that holds bike night.. This is another group that will not tolerate any crap from anyone.
There are also aerialists here in town that get called for events and bars that hold special parties and I have been contacted through SV by people that were looking for aerialists and go-go dancers for an event.
