i have done about 7 treatments and everything is gone except a few strays.

go somewhere with a PAINLESS laser.  if it's too cheap, chances are it will be the old type that hurt.  electrolysis i believe targets one hair at a time and you can smell the burning.  with the new lasers, it still hurts, but you only feel heat, as oppossed to individual hairs being burnt out.

ive also done underarms and that's all gone too.  it works well. just go somewhere legit.  alma and luminess lasers are great!

I've ordered from them a few times, and it's horrible. Half the time when you click on an item, it's out of stock!! But other from that, returns/changes to your order are extremely hard because the phone line is always busy.  They've sent me the wrong size and missing items before, and it took forever to get all the items.  Some of the items look super cheap and tacky (I mean what do you expect, but the pictures look way better online for a lot of them).

when i first started doing this one, i held a lot of the weight on my side instead of the armpit. after a couple days, your armpit will get used to it, and you can put more weight in it then!

I remember my pole teacher told me that you sweat more when you STOP doing hard things, so you should never break a routine with easier stuff. Not really sure if that applies to me hahah. Seems I sweat all the time (darn Bikram Yoga for permanently opening up my pores)! If you can get through almost two songs though, that is awesome! I think I’d have to do a loooong time of floor work in order for me to air dry, as gross as that sounds. I think I remember hearing that Felix uses shaving cream either on her hands or the pole. I’ll let you know how that works out for me =b.

    What is a remi?

That night of the performance, I was super cold and only did a few stretches and push ups to warm up beforehand, so I didn’t start to sweat til towards the end, luckily. It’s more when I’m practicing at home and what not, and it starts to get all wet in my small condo. Icky!

i don’t use the finger for this move bc sometimes i slide closer to the floor and it hits. i found that the biggest thing that helped me that i didn’t realize i was not doing was to TURN MY HIPS!! i do it with left arm up, so as i go up i twist my right hip towards the pole (so it get’s your hips square to the pole). that helped my balance a lot!!

georgiamarie – but no matter how much I curled my back and shoulders to keep the pole against the top of my shoulder when I reached up with my feet, I couldn’t reach around the pole enough with my feet/legs to grip; so I would have to roll onto my collarbone to get that extra couple inches so I could get a grip with my legs. That "tuck" everyone kept saying was the key to it all was actually the problem…

And honestly, if it wasn’t for the grip I use, I would still be hitting it. I don’t know if it’s the combination of being boney and long-waisted or flexibility or what

i have the exact same problem!! i have a long torso and short legs, and feel like i can never reach my legs to the pole! the only time i can get it is if i swing my legs on and immediately push my body away, but that means i also get a slight drop in there, which is scary. boy i wish i could be a long legged creature too =(.

i’m using the cup grip, so maybe i’ll give the other one a go.

thanks !! i’ve never tried the grip like that, but maybe i should! i have collarbone hurty issues that i cant seem to shake. i swear it’s bc of the long torso, short leg syndrome so i can’t reach my legs around the pole unless i "invert" more.

for the split grip aysha are you supposed to keep the upper elbow bent or straight? i can only get into the split grip position from a cartwheel mount right now. i can get the jackknife, but aysha and straight edge i have no idea how to get into!

February 11, 2010 at 1:40 am in reply to: Woman Sues Crunch Fitness For Pole Dancing Injury

I just took a class at crunch last week and girls were definately trying things they weren’t ready for. With 25 girls and 8 poles it’s impossible for the instructor to keep an eye on everyone. It was more a free for all. She showed the trick and you would try it on the pole. And of course there were some beginners who wanted to try everything. The teacher did not stress not trying certain things if you were new, etc. First time goers saw twisted grip mount an were trying it!!!

As far as teacher quals, that particular instructor has been a stripper for 7 yrs but didn’t really seem caring about anyone getting hurt! My instrucor now started her own studio but used to teach at crunch. I guess the teachers do know how to pole, but the liability falls on crunch, not them, so they might not really care what’s going on!

i just had a total epiphany with this move last night. IT MATTERS WHICH WAY YOU SPIN!!! i’m taking my pole to the left side, so i should be starting with the left arm up for the climb. i’ve been doing it the opposite way with only 10% success rate…now i know why DUH! momentum helps you get into it if you spin the right way =b.
