I AM SO EXCITED THAT WE’RE DOING THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i love love love michael jackson. i used to have tshirts, posters, a spy hat, he’s the reason i got into dancing!!! i learned the moonwalk and spent days learning beat it and thriller AND OMG IM SO GLAD WE’RE DOING THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i don’t care what anybody says, i love michael jackson to bits. we had 2 mj parties at work and i made a sequin glove like his last night when my friend was over and we were doing crafts. I CANT WAIT TO SEE WHAT EVERYONE DOES!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I’m super excited about this challenge too Sascha! I have been listening to Michael jackson songs ever since he passed and it’s kind of like I falling back in love all over again. I’m listening to lyrics and being amazed and watching him dance and being inspired. All of my practices lately have been to his music and it just makes me feel good. I know I’m gonna feel good watching everyone else express themselves to his music https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif

… People who were born too late obsess about Thriller and Bad. You can always tell the difference between someone who actively lived through the 80s and someone who lived passively (or was born in them) by what they think of when they think of MJ. LOL.

After saying that, I will thoroughly show that I did not actively live the nineties by choosing In the Closet as my July Challenge.

    LOL, that’s true.

I haven’t been watching this show but I’ve been meaning to because it involves dance and I love dance shows.

Should the heavy dancers be ashamed of their weight and hide it?

People will always ridicule (especially shows like chelsea and soup) no matter what you do or wear, right? I hate to think that any of them would feel they need to "cover themselves up" or wear certain clothing because people make fun of them. If they feel good in it they should go for it. At least they have the guts to even dress up and dance in front of people.

Wow. The studio I go to charges $9 per class, less if you buy classes in bulk. Each class is 50 minutes long and they are group classes (there’s 19 poles in one room so it can hold up to 19 people). They do offer private lessons for around $100 I think.

My husband dedicated Lady of my Life to me (and even asigned it as my ring tone on his phone https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif ) so I’m pretty sure I want to do that one, but I loooove Human Nature to death. I think I’m gonna have to do 2 dances LOL.

What an amazing site. Having carried almost 14 pounds of baby in my at once (my surrogate twins were 6lbs 14ozs each), I try not to look at myself as "ruined". I try to see those stretch marks and hanging skin as my badge of honor for creating not just two lives, but an entire family. It’s tough to see them that way when I am trying to climb the pole and can’t move an inch LOL. I will get there though…

Yes you will Charilee! I keep meaning to take some pictures oy m stretchmarks for this site. I used to be so embarrassed of the "wounds" left behind by my kids but what opened my eyes was other women at the pool and at the beach with (what was in my original opinion) a lot worse bodies than me and they didnt care. They sported their flab and strecthmarks with pride as they spalshed with their lovely kids in the pool.

That’s when I stopped comparing myself to things that are just unrealistic. I know J-Lo has twins but she probably had a full time dietitcian, nutritionist and trainer at her side for the full (whatever) months she was pregnant. Yeah Angelina Jolies has had like 18 kids but genetics have a say in a lot of things and if I compare myself to my grandma I’m doing pretty damn good (sorry abuela) and even nt compared to anyone I should just be glad that whatever body I have, it’s getting my through everyday life so I can spend one more day with those I love. I end my rant here https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

    Thriller! Thriller night!

…..Not that I was thinking of that song for myself…..

I invert occasionally…the bulk of my practices are spent upverted (is that a word?) so I can’t say for sure but when I do (occasionally) invert it doesn’t bother me or my pole that much but like I said…….it’s occasionally….very very…occasionally, LOL https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

why’d I even post that after you Az that was a waste of time LOL.

I have mine done and it’s well healed so even if it does come into contact with the pole it doesn’t bother me or maybe I just adjust abit to the left or right.

I’m still a noob though so I’m not doing all that extra cool fancy stuff yet….

I’m trying to work my way around Windows Movie Maker. Haven’t been able to completely edit a vid yet…but I’m working on it LOL. It seems relatively easy to use and it’s free if you already have windows.

Lily – good call on the arnica! I use the same cream, as well as little arnica tablets that dissolve under the tongue. I have found they work miracles and I can wear shorts now. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif

I also love to soak in a hot bath of epsom salts – that always makes my muscles soften and relax. So good before bedtime! I drink lots of water and firmly believe that you are what you eat. That being said, I will look like a pizza tomorrow.

I have always used Biofreeze for sore muscles after running and lifting, I used this recently after a few days of going hard on the pole (lol, that sounded funny) and it helped tons!

I know I’m looking forward to seeing the video of these crappy poles. I want to see what she’s trying to pass off as a pole studio.

I can’t believe this woman wouldn’t invest an real quality poles for her students to work on nor take the time to study up on her craft before attempting to share it with others.

I’m glad you’re not staying with that place. The only good thing that would have come out of it is maybe you could let the customers know that this is not how it’s supposed to be so they won’t quit poling forever.

I’m so sorry to hear your frustration https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif I hope you’re able to get it installed eventually (even though I really want to say don’t even waste your time on it) but I know the exact boat that you’re in because I did the exact same thing. I started with the Flirty Girl and got a flirty hole in my cieling, then a Carmen Electra/Pole Aerobics pole. After realizing I had wasted my money on them I had to wait until I could get my xpole….and those two poles just sat in my closet…mocking me….LOL.

Hopefully you’ll be able to get it up if you’re going to still use it. I know how it feels when you just wanna pole and you can’t https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif .

Forgive the pictures, they’re all off centered but you get the general idea.

This is my "Hurray I’m in the Army now let’s go to some random tattoo shop and get some tats!" tattoo….I think it looks pretty crappy now but it’s symbolic of my life changing.

Another Army tattoo but this time with some meaning. It means Eternal Friendship and myself and my two sisters all have it (different areas) because we were raised to take care of eachother and thats what we have done. We’re family, sisters, and best friends forever.
