    Yup!

…..but if you have some vodka handy, I’m sure that’ll do the trick too https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

…"That what she said"…Sorry couldn’t help myself. But, anyways…When you use a towel or a cloth, what exactly are you doing? What is the benefit of doing that? Takes all the sweaty hand prints off of it? At my dad’s club, all the girls wipe the pole, but they have an industrial size bottle of Antibacterial Sanitizer and they squirt some of that into their cloth and then wipe the pole each time. I can understand doing that when multiple girls use the pole, but does it make it grip easier? is it safe?

Are there certain cloths that are better for your pole? So many questions!!

LOL, that’s soooo one of my fav jokes.

*clears throat* ok , the girls at the club are most liekly doing the doube duty with the sanitizing spray. Wiping off sweat and cleaning the pole at the same time.

Those of us at home are most likely wiping off sweat. I use windex and/or alcohol to keep the pole (and my hands) dry.

The whole moisturizing thing is something I struggle with because I’m a dermatology nurse and I’m somewhat obsessed with healthy, moisturized skin lol. I spend at least 10 minutes every morning moisturizing with various lotions and oils and again every night before bed. Before I pole I have to do a alcohol wipe down if I’m still a bit lubed up. But since I lube up in the am and pole in the pm (before my evening lube session) it usually works out ok.

As far as deodee, I use the same secretcrystalcleargel thingy that Veena uses LOL. It works great for me because my prob;em is finding deodorants that dont clump up under my under arms and this one works great for me. I’m a sweatier than normal person and it helps with that too. I think each persons body chemistry is different so what works for one may not work for all.

You’re probably going to have to try several and it may end up being an antipersperant/deodorant combo since most companies combine the two.

    you got hurt from doing basic stuff on the pole? The best thing to do to strengthen your body for the pole is..poling lol. Or push ups, pull ups, pole-ups, sit ups, tricep dips, butt lifts, v-ups, leg lifts, ect ect ect phoenixmarcy has a video on youtube that shows all of her pole conditioning http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1z3K3hIFmPs" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I second this! Strength training is also great for building "strength" LOL.

Seems like a lot of people get lucky with dumpster diving. I found two really tall mirrors on wood boards and it looks like they used to be doors to a wardrobe or something. Because they are tall they work really well.

I have 3 mirrors. 2 I found dumpster diving (cha-ching) and another big one on Craigslist that I got for free! I’m still in the market for a bigger full length mirror though. I’d like to cover one whole wall with mirrors high enough to see myself up high and low enough to see myself on the floor. As it is now I have a floor mirror and 2 mirrors that I can see myself when standing.

Hi Dolly and welcome to SV!!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

I think that as you continue on you’ll have less problems remembering the names of moves. It kind of just sticks in your head once you learn to recognize it. Like learning colors when you’re little LOL. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

    This is too cool!

RoxyPink for being in my head and saying what I was gonna say first! She’s a great mentor, sweet ass dancer, and overall cool ass chick!(and I’m pretty sure we are related somehow…)

GlitterHips for making sure I’m not the only drunk one in chat and supplying me with a steady stream of drunken text messages. I love those!

All the Friday night chat regulars that listen to my ramblings without complaints (Az, Gelina, Veena, Glitter, Fleur, Jungle, Roxy, Jenny, MJ, PS, Trena, Sascha, the Webster and many many more)

Veena because she is just so damn helpful. Like a mother.

Redke for being awesome and down to earth enough to reply to all of her comments

Jessalyn for being awesome down to earth enough to reply to of her youtube comments LOL

Everyone on Studio Veena that comments on all of my videos. Even just a "Good Job" means so much to me. I don’t have any real life pole friends and you guys are my only motivation!

I’m sure I forgot many people so I’ll probably have a part 2 to this LOL.

I know there are certain types of hernias that can be caused by physical activity. I’d have to brush up on my GI stuff, but the doctor would know best.

And Roxy when I first read the thread I thought it was gonna be about upset stomachs from spin mode or something LOL. Something like "Everytime I pole on spin mode I get nauseous and have to run to the bathroom right after…" or something like that https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Did you ask the doctor if he thought it was possible to be caused from poleing. It does seem odd that you would get this type of injury after having been a gymnast for so long…but I guess it could be possible…. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif

Sissybuns – my hubby keeps postponing the date that he will go "full throttle" into the P90X, which means he’s trying to get out of the diet. I am excited to see your results – it’s a big commitment. Good for you for giving it a shot!

Honestly for me, the diet is the hardest part. I am still struggling with that. I eat pretty good anyway (for the most part https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif ) but I do have my weaknesses and hungry moments where I’ll eat whatever is near by….I’m trying to work on that https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif

Ooh, good for you! I’d love to read your blog for it.

I tried but quickly discovered you need to be at a certain level of fitness to even start it… and I wasn’t there yet. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif I found the strength based ones impossible. The guy who "presents" it is awesome though – just as cheesy as Mr Motivator but eminently watchable!

Yeah, it’s pretty hard core. I have been lifting weights for over a year so that’s why I thought it might be a good workout for me. It’s really intense and challenging which is good because workouts that don’t make me beg for mercy lose my interest quicker… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

AHHHHHH p90X…its how I lost all the baby weight with my second child. Im a HUGE fan of P90, its really hard, my hubby used to laugh at me doing a home video everyday but then I go here…u try…he was sore after just ONE SET durning chest and back and hes a flippin’ marine and police officer with an amazing bod!!!! so there! haha

the hard thing to to stick with it for the 90 days, 3 months is a long time, and its hard to work out 6 days a week, but i had a newborn adn a 1.5 year old and i found a way to do it. If you stick to it you’ll do great! Just be aware I did it with a friend and we didnt loose tons of weight right away, i DEFF got more toned my endurance and strenght were throught the ROOF but i wasnt sheading a ton of Lbs on the scale, and I also wasnt loosing tons of inches either but it did come off, just stick with it especially during ur platues. My key was to add in more cardio then they do in the program and it started making EVERYTHING happen, and fast!

    BEST WISHES!!!!

Thanks Trophy (I love your name by the way). I’m not trying to lose much weight actually because I’ve gotten to my goal already after kiddo number 3. But I want to be stronger and leaner. Some inches lost wouldn’t hurt either. I posted pictures in my blog (my before shots https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif ) so you can see the "untonedness" (yes I just made that word up, go with it) that I’m trying to work on. I’m doing it with a co-worker. My hubby has already flaked through 2 workouts so I don’t know if he’s a keeper as far as a battle buddy is concerned. I might be able to get him up on the pull up bar but he’s got this "natural six pack and ability to do a zillion push ups without working out" thing going on so….he doesn’t really see the point LOL. But her and I have been swapping pain stories and what not and comparing workouts so it’s good to have someone to go through it with.

Today was day 3. Shoulders, Arms and Abs. I must say that ab workout kicked my ass!!!!! Good stuff. I did it in front of the mirror so that whenever I got tired I could glance over at the jelly roll and tell myself (Keep going! That’s the only way you’ll get rid of it!).

Afterward I hopped on the pole for a bit (before the soreness kicked in) and fooled around with my Iguana Mount and stupid stupid Gemini. I need P90x for my knee pits….do they have that? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif
