Can’t tell you the difference between the X-Pert and the original design but I’m quite happy with the X-Pert. I had to fidget with the pieces a little bit to get them to be totally flush at the joints but nothing too bad. I like the smaller base plate so that it doesn’t come in the way and how the pole is whole from top to bottom (no exposed threading part/extender). There is the added benefit to being able to tighten the pole from the bottom… no more chairs or step-ladders. If you set it up correctly you will have a great time w/no worries! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif

She looked great… I love her dancing style. She looked really tired by the end of it though!

  • Ha, I’m glad he learned his lesson though! Sorry you had to go through that but yes, boys will be boys. *shakes head*

    Here’s a few tips that might help…
    – Clean your pole well to make sure you don’t have any residues or oils from… whatever.
    – Take a quick shower to wash off all lotions and body grease/sweat/oil
    – Make sure to warm up and warm up the pole as well… a cold pole = no grip
    – SQUEEEEEEZE with all your might. Clamp those legs together like your life depended on it. If you’re newer to pole you might not realize your legs aren’t strong enough for inverting. It takes a lot of time and practice to be able to squeeze your thighs together around the pole. Try some leg strengthening exercizes or moves… sitting on the pole (upright) is a great way to do that.
    Hope that helps.

I have TWO tension-mounted poles (Platinum Stages and X-Pole) and both are considered professional dance poles. I have never felt unsafe on either one of them… or if I did it was because I was unsure of my own strength or capability to do a new trick. If you look at competition videos you will see X-Poles are a very popular way to go. So if pros like Jenyne and Felix (with their crazy antics) use them, so can you. Maybe your instructor is unaware about the X-Pole and its specs? Maybe she was trying to keep you away from poles like Peek-A-Boo or Carmen Electra? Now those are bad poles.

I have a PS stainless pole and I had to go to X Chrome. Stainless takes forever to get warm and with my sweaty hands it was a nightmare. Chrome is working for me much better (so far… haha).

Can someone please give me a step by step on how to set my you tube to have to approve comments first??? I can not figure it out for the life of me. I feel like I have checked everything and it is not an option, but I know it is as people on here are setting theirs that way. Help! When you log on move your mouse/cursor over your screenname near the top right corner. Click on the first link "Account". It will take you to your Account Settings page. Click on "Uploaded Videos" which will take you the the video editing page. Then hit edit for one of your videos. This will take you the that video’s edit page and if you scroll down you and see on the left-hand side "Broadcasting and Sharing Options" then click on the settings you want for comments, video responses, and other stuff. I don’t think there is a way to change those settings for all your videos because everytime I uploaded there I had to do each video settings seperately.

It is a good idea to do set your settings when you first upload a video. When you are at the upload page choose your settings FIRST and then choose a file and hit upload. It is easier than going through all these steps later.

For me it has always been Jenyne. She was the reason why I got into it, and still is. Something about her style and movement choice… nothing fancy but each move is just perfection. Felix is a fave too but I think she goes for the big bang too much whereas Jenyne is just smoooooth like buttah. Alethea is a great inspiration considering she went through back surgery but she rocks the pole. Jamilla, Karol, Veena, Tess Taylor… aaaaah! There are soooo many!

I’m sorry to say it but for the MOST part YouTubers are just rotten. It’s like people got this identity-free card and they abuse it by being rude. That is why I totally stopped uploading my vids there, took down all my old ones, and only post here. Life is too short to deal with __________ (I’ll spare you my sailor’s mouth).

I use SparkPeople.com to track my calories and workouts and even goals like "Drink 8 glass of water" or "Stretch for 10 minutes everyday". It is a great website that is all about healthy habits and losing/gaining weight slowly. You can follow their diet plan and go through their 4 step process or just make your own. I really like it because it is all about smart choices not fad diets. There is also several pole dance fan groups.

Welcome to SV! You can always find great tips here (from beginner to advanced) and the video tutorials are very good too. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

We’re in Mannheim and it can be hard finding a good and local pole dance school in Germany. The one run by MPD Germany is in Nuremberg although that is a 2.5 hour drive for me. There is a school from Switzerland and they send teachers for one-day seminars/classes throughout Germany.

Where are you guys stationed at? I’m always trying to find peeps to pole with. Maybe we can get together and do a pole jam?

    Have a good week! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_salut.gif

PS – APO mail is tricky for sure. I have gotten internet orders within a few days of purchase… and sometimes it takes F-O-R-E-V-E-R!
