What I do is shoulder mount, getting my legs far enough past the pole to grip with my thighs, and then push my torso up with my hands against the pole. That kinda gets me into an upside down plank of sorts and then I reach back, grab the pole behind me with one hand and sink into the superman. Does that make sense? Let me know if you need more help with it.

Woo hoo! Congratulations, FLeur!!

That has happened to me before. What I did was took the little screws that control the spin option completely off, which then allows you to remove that portion from the base. Then I put the screwdriver/rod through that hole and the another one in the extension to get the leverage to get them apart. Be very careful though not warp the threads where the little screws go. Don’t use excessive force. Good luck!

I soooo wish I could be there! How about they just move the competition to MI? There are a ton of us SV girls here and we would be up on the front row screaming our heads off for ya, Fleur!

Yep, Charley will do!
I am thinking about bringing my hoop too.

Not sure where Luddington is. Try Google mapping it?

It wouldn’t be boring if you paired the outfit with a hot pair of knee/thigh high boots and fishnet stockings, or high heels and leg warmers. You could also alter the jersey so that it’s off the shoulder or midriff, something to make it more revealing.

ok ive been biting my tongue but i really cant stand behind a ps pole; i had a ps stainless steel 50mm for my first pole ever, it was so slippery i couldn’t even do a fireman on it; completely frustrating….i just wouldn’t recommend them compared to the fantastic, rave reviews that x-pole gets on a continual basis.
I have the same lack of grip issues on PS Stainless steel and the Chrome Xpole. But I do much better with Xpole TG or PS Brass. I really think it comes down to personal chemistry, and everyone is different. There are some things I love about the Xpole’s design that PS does not have (holes in the tubes make it break down so much easier)and some features of the PS poles that I wish Xpole had (easier and faster to set up and to simple to convert to spin mode). If only there was a hybrid that adopted the best of both brands, it would be perfect!

I don’t think that pole used on the Conan show was a free standing pole. I believe it was attached on top, like a lil mynx pole. The bottom was loose. There was just a mat of some kind underneath the pole but it was not tacky enough to keep the pole from sliding.

You can now pre order the new extreme super poles on platinum stages. It’s not as expensive as I thought they were going be $349 for stainless steel 2" or 1.75". Add $100 for brass, 2" only. I am excited to see what the Extreme Stand Alone pole costs, but that won’t be available until October.
Check it out here:

I actually have my dominant arm on top for both mounts. One trouble i was having getting into the TG mount was that I was not lowering my head enough when going into it, so I was having trouble getting my legs up over my butt. Wendy Traskos gave me a tip that was extremely helpful. She said to visualize myself upside down in the mirror immediately after I kick up into position. As soon as she said that, I got it on the very next try! I also found it more helpful to start with my lower arm NOT on the pole, although I have noticed a lot of people start with both arms gripping on the pole. One more tip, the lower your top arm is in the beginning, the less you have to kick up to get into position. And if your bottom arm keeps bending, you may not have your arms wide enough apart on the pole. Let me know how your progress goes!

MemberAugust 29, 2009 at 1:17 pm in reply to: Shoot… I wanted a Chrome pole and ordered Titanium insteadTG is not better for intermediates/advanced, it is just a matter of which grip you prefer. Actually, many advanced polers prefer chrome as their grip is stronger and so the TG is too grippy. I personally prefer TG over chrome, because I have sweaty palms and have trouble gripping the chrome, even after two years of practicing! Also, Wendy of USPDF had said at a workshop that she was in the process of changing all of her poles to the smaller diameter, so 50mm may not be standard for competitions in the future. But who knows? There are more and more competitions out there, and everyone uses different poles. I think the key is being able to adapt to different size/textures. I was thinking about investing in a smaller pole, and have asked many people about it. Most of them had said that the smaller diameter poles are easier to perform tricks on.

I love her skirts! I had messaged her recently to find out where she buys them from and have yet to receive a reply yet. She did say it was tennis skirt though.
