If you can find a copy of the ab ripper portion of p90x it works wonders. It’s killer in the beginning (think weeks to months) but it got me my ariel invert on both sides!
I found this, is this right? If so, it looks crazy killer!!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rambo.gif

I like these two exercises using an exercise/stability ball.
The first is a "roll out".
http://www.ehow.com/how_2301557_do-stability-ball-roll-outs.htmlThe second is an oblique crunch.

http://www.criticalbench.com/exercises/stability-ball-oblique-crunch.htmI really like these because they really force you to use your core muscles that aren’t that affected by typical crunches.

Thanks for the tips!
I’ve been using my camera that can take short videos to tape some of my practices. It has helped a lot!
I’ve also set up a couple mirrors in my pole room so I can catch glimpses when I’m spinning!
Thanks again! -
I’d like to just say…I’ve heard that Anti-perspirant is very bad for you, and can lead to a series of health problems, including (as always) cancer. I’ve known many women who have "lumps" under their arms, and their doctors are positive it’s because they are using anti-perspirants. If you think about it, an anti-perspirant actually prevents and blocks the body from sweating, which helps you cool down, it helps the body release toxins, and all sorts of other things. Can you imagine what would happen if you clogged all that for so many years?
That said, unfortunately I’m still stuck with the old stick…I still haven’t found anything more natural and not an anti-perspirant, since they’re so popular. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif
I also have an odd problem…it looks like acne, but it’s not. It seems to come up randomly, when I shave, and especially when I use the stick under my arm. Any ideas? It’s just red bumps, pretty itchy, centred on the underarm area. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif
Have you ever tried a deoderant stone/crystal?? My mom used to use one. It’s only good for people that mildly sweat though.
Here’s one in case you don’t know what I’m talking about http://www.grassrootsstore.com/lafescrystaldeodorantstone.aspx
You should be able to buy them at health food stores or online. And i agree with the other girls. I think the bumps are from your razor. Try changing the blade and see if that helps. Make sure your skin is wet or use shaving cream when shaving your armpits. That should help to reduce the bumps. Also, most deoderants/anti-persperants include an ingredient that helps to prevent razor burn/bumps and ingrown hairs. That’s why lots of women use deoderant instead of shaving cream when they shave their "area".

There’s an idea! If you have the cardboard tubes, why not put it in a golf bag? I bet it would fit.
That is a genius idea!!!! That’s what I would do!!! -
I really like Degree Clinical Protection. It’s one of the few Anti-presperants that I can wear with dress shirts and not have to worry about sweat stains!
What are you currently using?

I have Type 1 Diabetes so I understand the need to eat healthy! And a high 5 for both of us having pancreas’ that suck! lol!
I googled and found this link that has some really good information about pancreatitis and what you can and can’t eat.
http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=68739Have you been to see a dietician? They should have created a meal plan for you and gone over what you can and can’t eat.

I would def. recommend practicing this one from the ground for a while, and make sure your pain threshold for things like pole sits, etc., is up there. It HURTS (and that doesn’t just seem to be my opinion, lol), and if you fall, there is not really a way to do it gracefully, I don’t think.
My first attempts were from a handstand. I slid my legs down and walked my hands out as if to do a "pushup" (don’t know the official name) dismount, then reached up and back with dominant hand and took the other hand off the ground. After I realized that 1) it hurt and 2) I could work through the pain, I did it from side climb just a wee bit up the pole, because you have to flip your hips over and catch with your legs at pretty much the same time. The hip flipping, for me anyway, turned out to be a little tricky and will require some work.
Going from a handstand sounds like the easiest way in my opinion. That’s probably the best way to get as low to the ground as you can get. -
I just watched Veena’s video and I’m wondering if you HAVE to get someone to stand on the base of the pole while you finish tightening it, or if it’s just a good idea to do it that way. My pole will be going on carpet, so I wanted to clarify if this was necessary or not.
Thanks!! -

Veena,
Can I order the orginal X-Pole from you since I’m in Canada? I checked the "Shopping" link and the original pole is not listed on the page, so I’m not sure if that’s possible.
If not I can wait for Canada to receive their new poles and then order it.
Thanks! -
If you are dealing with open toe platforms then definitely get the smaller size. Closed toe you can get away with inserts but they still are not comfortable.
I totally agree!!
Open toe or strappy sandals are super easy to stretch!! As long as your toes aren’t hanging over the edge of the shoe you should be good!!
I should have asked what style of shoes they were before suggesting inserts!! Sorry! -
You should be able to get a shoe insert at most shoes stores! Just ask someone working there and they should be able to help you out!
Or you can always go to a drug store and check out their aisle with all the feet stuff. They might have some there. You can also buy some padding for your heel or toes if the shoes are still a bit too big or just not fitting quite right.
Good luck! -
When you’re a half size they generally recommend that you buy a size bigger and then just place an insert into the shoe.
So I would get an 8 and then just buy an insert to take up some of the extra room in the shoe.Just incase, make sure you read the companys return policy before you buy online!
