Sounds great! Nothing wrong with a good challenge!
I look forward to seeing how both dances worked out! Be sure to post vids!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif -
I don’t have anything to add. The tips the other ladies gave are spot on.
But on the brighter side, once you master the shoulder mount, and master going from shoulder mount straight to superman you could work on the death lay starting with your feet on the floor, instead of from a aerial shoulder mount. That must be an advantage, right? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
Just trying to add some silver lining https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
But for now: Good luck on the shoulder mount!! -
Oh yes! Naked baby! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif I love poleing barefoot.
But when practicing pirouettes I put on socks, which is why I really should look into footundiez.I do see heels in my future, when I start poleing at home. The heels are just for me https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

There was just another thread on this a little while back:
What’s it called
I know this as a spin up. I think there are some tips in the linked thread. Hopefully that helps.
Thanks so much for that reply chem!! I now finally understand what everyone was exactly talking about in that thread, lol https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
I must have had a slow week or something https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gifI just wanted to add that it’s also possible to go into a spinning chopper from that position. I got the idea when reading the comments on Joel’s latest vid. He was practicing the spinning chopper, but has a low ceiling.
Does anyone have a video of the boomerang variation?

Lol, your story just reminded me a little of Flashdance https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif !!
But a warm welcome to StudioVeena!Unfortunately Veena doen’t sell xpoles on here anymore. One of the SV members sells them in her webshop http://www.houseofpole.net. And there are others on here who sell them too. You can of course also buy your xpole from http://www.xpoleus.com.
From what I heard there is a vaulted ceiling adapter in the works, but I’m not sure when it’s supposed to be released. Maybe you can call Xpole US for that info.
With that final question I can’t help, but I’ll bet that there are a few ladies here that could share their experiences on the topic. But either way, covering up holes in the ceiling shouldn’t be too much of a hassle, right?

More information on Tim Trautman is available on http://www.polesports.org/Leadership.html
I’ve been browsing the site (http://www.polesports.org), and there is a bit more info on there, although most parts still seem to be under construction -

Lol, I was just about to share the same tutorial. I still can’t get it (too much hamstring issues and tightness), but he explains it really well! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumleft.gif

I would say, start your spin with two hands, and if all feels right let go of the bottom hand mid-spin. Once you get comfortable with changing to one handed mid-spin, you can work on getting into the spins with one hand. (By then your strength will have improved too)
I second amy on starting with the fireman spin. Next progression would be other spins with leg contact (like front hook, back hook), and then the no contact spins (e.g. chair).

I have actually noticed a significant reduction in cellulite on my LEFT thigh, which is the thigh I always use for my outisde leg hang, and the thigh that pushes past the pole to get into superman etc etc.
Sounds like yet another good reason to learn things both sides.
*sigh* darn non-dominant superman! -
I use my digital camera to record, which is about 5 yrs old, so the quality isn’t too great. But I’m still not sure when&what exactly to buy next.
My first vid was edited with Windows Movie Maker, which crashed on me continuously. Now I have Vegas Movie Studio, which I enjoy a lot.
