I didnt read it like that Olivia. I read it, as if it was a joke against poledance. There isnt anything wrong with strippers, but its wrong to think that every poledancer, can just go get a job at a strip club, and earn money, in case all else fails. Most of the people who poledance knows, that the pole doesnt pay out that much, even if you've never tried being a stripper. New people mostly dont. Joke or not, I would let them know, that the reality is different.

Haha, I asked my hubby and he was like "hmmm flying monkey??" I asked him what the heck a flying monkey was and he said" I have no idea honey, you guys have the weirdest names for those moves. I love that one with your legs in the air and that one where you spin around."

Hehe, how am I supposed to know which one? Hahah.. But I promised him, that if I invent a move one day, I will call it the flying monkey!

I would reply: The pole wont earn your fall-back money. Taking of your clothes might, and thats not what we are doing here 🙂

I met mine on a modeling job. It was 3 years ago, I was 19 years old, and had been modelling for a year. I was hired to do a fashion shoot and the photographer had borrowed this gorgous house for a location (the one I now live in) We arrived at the house, and my boyfriend (which he wasnt yet) was really nice, and asked alot of questions about my job, like if I was comfortable with him being on set, othervise he could go see some friends. He was a true gentleman. He showed me the bathroom, where I could change outfits. When I went in there to change, I forgot my bagpack outside of the bathroom, so I sneaked out but naked to quickly get it, and there he was, cleaning the floor for the shoot and he just started at me, making this weird sound ( I think he was trying to speak) something like "bahuia" and I started to laugh like crazy, completly forgetting that I was still naked. Anyway, we finished the shoot and I went home again. A couple of days later, the photographer came by with pictures and he told me, that all my boyfriend had said to him was "I have to see her again" -And though I really liked him, I was going trough some things, and I didnt feel like I deserved a man like him, so I didnt do anything about it. A couple of months later, the photographer held a party, and had invited both him and me, and everyone except the two of us, had a plan to bring us together. Him and I,spend all night talking, dancing and having fun together, but nothing happened. He didnt make any moves, and further into the night, I realized how much I wanted him to. It wasnt untill he started talking about his poker games, that I saw an oppertunity. I have been playing since I as 16 years old, but I lied and said, I so badly wanted to learn that. He offered to teach me. A couple of days later, I was on my way to his house, for my lessons. When I came, he had cooked dinner, lit candles all over the house, and set up the poker table. After we had eaten, he explained the rules of poker, and set up for the first game. Needless to say, I won every game that night and I didnt tell him, just how good I was untill he gave up. I said "Im sorry Iied, I just had to see you again" and that was pretty much it. A week later, he invited me to go on a 3 week trip to turkey, and when we got home, we went to my apartment, and brought all my stuff to his house, which is now also my house 😀

MzVelvet – it really was. But he said it so fast, that he didnt mean to be mean, but that was what he thought about my poledance. Thats why I decided to let him discover the difficulty of pole 🙂

I once said to my hubby, that it would be so cool to ditch med-school and spend my life as a pole instructor. He answered without hesitation "you're not that good. It doesnt look so hard to do, so since you are not better after a year, I would stick to the doctor thing" Even though I would never leave my education, I got really upset. I asked him to do some of my moves, since they are so easy. Pole spin: fell down. Chair spin: fell down. Pole sit: Got tears in his eyes, of pain. After that, he started to really respect what I can do. And today, he often brags about the new moves I've learned to our friends.. Guys dont know anything about pole, untill they try it 🙂

    Legs4days

Its just in my country – Denmark – we got a law in 2009 with 13 illegal dog breeds. Mostly muschle dogs. The law had been critizised beyond words, because dog attacks has not gone down at all. Because it has nothing to do with the dog, but everything to do with the owner. If you beat up any dog, it is going to get agressive, no matter what breed it is. We are not allowed to have one of these 13 breeds, if they are born after 2009 or if (as in my case) the owner dies.

There's never a right time for something like this, and Im not gonna lie, its going to be hard to go through. I recently had to put two pets down. My dad passed away in march, and I took in his dog, and I already had three cats. Shortly after, my big cat got sick, and because of funeral expences, I couldnt afford the treatments and she had to be put down. A week later, the police came to my door, explaining that my dads dog, was an illegal breed, he was legal with my dad, because the dog was older than the new dog-race law, but the dog was not allowed to be passed on to a new owner, and if I didnt take it to the vet, they would come back and take him from me. It was all a nightmare, and I wasnt ready for any of it, but I got through it. I burried my cat in my yard, and I have planted some flowers on her rest place. I burried my dads dog, next to his resting place, and had the dogs name written on my dads tombstone.  I didnt think I would ever get over it, or forgive myself for not being able to save them, but I am getting over it. Im smiling again, and I know that I did what I had to do.

Im studying to become a doctor, and Im 100% open about pole. Everyone at my university knows that I pole, even some of the teachers and they where all curious about it in a very positive way. I upload my pole pics everywhere, and Im not worried. Should a patient ever turn me down, because he/she has seen me online, is OK with me. The only reason none of my videos are on youtube, is because I dont think Im good enough on my pole, and youtube can be ruthless with comments, so I like to be here, where everyone is so nice an encouraging. If I were you, I would do it.. If its a part of you, then dont hide it 🙂

Its really nice! I think its hard to create a brand new move, so if I ever thought I did, I wouldnt dare to call it, my own name. I havent seen this one before, but I want to learn it! 😀

Happens to me too, all the time. I cant see a link from a post, to another post, without having to sign in, and then when I do that, it goes to the timeline, and not the link.

Kate92 -Yes, the backgound isnt relavant, only on how long it can take, but I love doing cut-outs 😀 The foot has me a bit worried, because I think in pole pictures, its best if you have all the lines, in the pic. But please sent it to me, I might be able to resurrect it, or do something cool, like a posterized edit.

VeeRose – I cant see the links, it just goes to the SV timeline, but I still need to people, so please feel free to send them to retouch@style-bf.com – and I can have a look at them 🙂

If someone is being "bullied", I would definetely stand up for them. However, I wouldnt do it by calling the mean person out, and start a fight, or use the word bitch. I feel that, that is very negative, and the victim, is most likey sad or hurt, and my own rudeness (which it is for me, if I get nasty to protect someone) is not going to make that person feel better. I usually just tell the person causing rudeness, that I feel sorry for their negativity and I hope that they will find a bit more self-security some day.I dont say that to be degrading, but because I honestly hope so. And thats that. I dont let it get to me, because if I cant control myself, Im not showing the victim, that it really doesnt matter if someone feels the need to be mean.

I understand why you would get angry, rude people have a tendency to get under people's skin, and this is not the first post I have seen from you, where rude people have made you sad/angry. Like webby said, this has taken time away from you and thats a pity, because you know, you are never getting that back. Saying "thats just the way they are" is most likely true. A woman in my class, was out to get me, for the first 3 months of the year, for reasons I never understood. I told myself, that it was her, thats the way she is/needs to be – for some reason. So I ignored her as best as I could, until she realized that I was no fun. She went over to the next one, who ended up coming to me for advice (im in the student council) I then told her, how I delt with it and she started to ignore her. Now that woman, only has her sister to talk to in school, because she had been mean to so many people for no other reason than her own lack of self-worth. I truly hope that she will find a way to feel better or to understand why she is doing this, because the only feeling I have for her, is genuine pitty.

Im not a newbie anymore, but this thread is actually making me feel good! There's a lot of moves on here, like side climb and such, that I eally adore, and I dont feel discuaged by others not liking the move. Actually, this whole thread, has got me thinking. There's quite some moves out there, that either I simply dont like, or just does not speak to me. However, I've always felt a need to learn everything and whenever the time comes to learn a move,I dont feel so passionate about, I dont look forward to practice. I think I should let myself choose more. Unless its an important transition move and I dislike it, Im gonna move on to the next one, from now on! 😀

I got Aletheas pures splits DVD.

I do love it,however, when I bought it, it was my understanding, that it would be for beginners(me) to advanced. She also states that a coupleof times,in the DVD. I most admit, that I cant see how its for beginners at all. There are too many stretches that Imnot flexible enough to do yet, and there is no beginner variation for it. It goes from advanced stretch to super advanced, I feel. I think that when Im closer to my straddles and splits, thats its gonna be really great to use her DVD, the rest of the way. But for now, I use Veena's, because she makes room for all levels, and shows how you should do the stretches if you are a beginner. She also explaines the stretches, where in Aletheas DVD, I feel like I should have some knowlegde to the stretches, that I naturally dont have, since I then wouldnt need any instruction.
