Yes I 2nd the congrats to Veena 🙂 & agree with Oliviaa about how great this site is. I've learned so much and  the lessons are so clear and well organized. I also appreciate how the moves are put in order starting with what you should learn first so that you are conditioned & strengthened as you progress to the next move.

There is some kind of phoenix on Online Pole Lessons but it's not the Reverse grab to twisted grip thing (at least that's what the Phoenix is to me but with all the different names I could be mistaken)

She does have a twisted grip handspring though. I do like that the other site has some different moves to learn  but the studio V lesson format is done better. As far as the instructor herself I think she is probably a good teacher because I saw a demo of one of her students who I thought did a very nice routine and had a smooth flow that I would like to learn. I'd probably go to the Allure studio for lessons in person one day.

Yeah I don't know what that Jack knife spin is all about but in Online Pole's advanced lessons she has one called the Jack knife handspring which is like the one in the lessons on this site.

I'm working on it and almost there. The splits in 6 weeks program has been getting me the furthest I've ever been.

Here is a thread of people on this site and their experience with it

Also in Veena's lessons there is a new stretching program for the splits which I will try to help me get my centre splits but I haven't put it in my routine as yet so I can't say how it works for me yet but she.

    Yeah same here 🙂

I do what amazon lady suggested and go with the hard moves first to get them out of the way. If I do a 2nd session I'll do them last just to see if I'm getting stronger and am ready to put them with the "normal" moves yet.

At first I thought the same thing about the plastic tabs (That they might break when trying to squeeze them to move that piece in and out) but I noticed that all I have to do is give it a little pinch/squeeze while making sure I'm pushing it down from the top. That push down is the key, it won't take much squeezing  that risks it breaking off.

Here is a link to a page with a test to do to see if you are capable of doing the both splits. I don't know how reliable it is though:

    http://www.stadion.com/flexibility_test.html

Also I read somewhere else where someone had the same question that a chiropractor would be able to tell you if you are physically capable or not.

Hey Miss Meg this seller on Ebay does world wide shipping

    http://www.ebay.com:80/itm/Mipole-Dance-Pole-Light-45mm-and-50mm-Stripper-Pole-X-/230637956409#vi-desc

I ordered one too when I saw Alesha's video.

I was wondering if anyone can tell me: When the light set to constant and not blinking does it show all the colors or do you choose the color you want?

Yeah some moves, it seems, you have to just tough it out but the good news is it gets better. Sometimes I would have swollen bruises that made it look like half a purple golf ball was stuck to my foot! It definitely stops happening though if you do it again and again without shoes 🙂

    Hi Karamel

I have a multi piece but it loads from the top like this one: http://www.platinumstages.com/UK-Special-Multi-Piece-wcase-_p_286.html

I like it (even though it was a bit slippery the last few days) someone else can tell you more about the extreme pole but I've read that if you phone the company they can be convinced to send a top loading pole like mine if you prefer.

The good points are that it is sturdy, it switches easily from static to spin and it's removable.

Not so good: problems with the threading getting stuck so it would be hard to screw together and unscrew. Luckily I bought mine through my pole studio and my teacher helped me and got me new pieces that screwed together properly so I didn't have to deal with their customer service which I've read is sometimes not so friendly.

Also I don't know how the bottom loading poles effect slides and spins but the sections that are attached in the middle of the pole are not a problem. There is no ridge that sticks out so you can move up and down smoothly.

Chemgoddess I took your advice and tried to suck it up and just pole but luckily my stick is starting to come back so Yay!

Charley I'm pretty moisturized. In the beginning of poling I did the same thing you mentioned about avoiding lotion and learning that dried out skin makes things worse. I have been poling a lot in the last month though and wonder if that played a part in all of this since reading your comment. Maybe I pushed a bit too much because I was on a good roll learning a bunch of new moves.

In any case I'm so glad to have this site thanks for your input  guys it's much appreciated 🙂

Thanks for your responses https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif. I'm glad to hear it's an on and off thing. (Hopefully off very soon) At least hearing that it's normal helps to stay encouraged.

Blondebird I feel the frustration, It is sooo annoying! I think I was getting pole rage from this lol I get up super early in the morning so I can fit in time to practise just to slide down to the floor over and over.

Alesha, I'm hoping it's the humidity, I don't know what else it could be but that's the only thing that has changed.

PS I have the removable top loading platinum stage super pole multi piece  so I think it's made from stainless steel.

I like all the ideas. Maybe the changing area can be a screen that you fold and keep to the side when not in use or a curtain to pull across the corner so it can be pulled back after the changing is is done so it only takes space at the beginning and end of classes. Being nice to neighbours (no matter what) won't hurt. This will also show the manager that you are level headed which helps your credibility and what about a surveillance camera?  I've heard some are not so expensive. This might deter the other businesses from exaggerating about disturbances and you won't have to worry about he said/she said.

Jenyne is awesome. The first time I saw this was from Doninic Lacasse, maybe that's where she got the idea? He does it at 15sec from a flag here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xABwi9r7m7w. There was some older clip of him but I don't remember the title.

Thanks for the tips guys. I will try to break them in. Just in case anyone else is having the same problem and wants an instant solution: I read on a ballroom dance forum that adhesive mole skin found in walgreens or walmart makes them slippery on floors.

Hi I didn't read all of the post so if I'm just repeating skip over me… The first and only time I fell from the pole was doing the CAR. Veena's tip of turning the knees in is what made it solid for me. It feels very secure now and I haven't had a problem since.

I also recommend the lessons. I started with the 30days to see if they would work for me and will upgrade because I've really benefited from them. My pole is a platinum stage multi piece – top loading. Others here say you can still order it that way instead of bottom loading by making a nice friendly request. It is removable too. You can do searches on poles from this site. Use key words in the search bar like: Xpole, Platinum stages and Lil Mynx there are many different opinions and advantages and drawbacks to each so read up as much as you can before making your choice. Once you get started and take the first step you will be surprised at what you will accomplish. I https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif pole dance.
