MemberSeptember 28, 2015 at 8:53 pm in reply to: studios in San Francisco- any recommendations?Im down for a meet up. I live in Oakland and have been to Atomic Allure, Studio Botan, Phoenix and Twirly Girls. Theres a new smaller studio Pole UP in Vallejo. Each studio mentioned has its pros and cons but Atomic is the most affordable however i don’t like the inconsistency of the schedule. Phoenix is very intimidating and unless you can do the splits or weigh 125lbs you may feel out of sorts. Twirly girls is awesome but i don’t want to drive 30 min to Pleasenton just to pole. And Pole up is new and the owner is great but again 30 minutes away.

My 6 year old daughter poles with me all the time. She is a great climber and has a few spins down. One issue I have with her is that she is stubborn as all get out and doesn’t want to listen to me when Im correcting her, or she gets dry hands in places I don’t think dry hands should be. But overall we have a blast together and its great mommy daughter time.

Thanks again Veena,, and can you clarify what you mean my hamstring flexibility? What exercises do you suggest to improve that?

Thanks everyone. I did go back and look at the video. I have tor really work on this I seem to have no strength at all. I can walk my legs back but have to kick to get my butt on the pole then kick to get legs up. When I try to lift legs I literally feel paralyzed 🙁 cant move at all. I will keep trying and use some of the tips suggested..Ill keep you posted…

Thanks for the feedback. I feel better today. I’ve read the reviews online on yelp and apparently I’m not the only one who has had an off putting experience with the studio.

Im sooo loving this thread!!! Keep it up ladies!!! Thank you for the feedback..Im excited..we should even schedule a skype group stretching day..that would be fun..Maybe we should all aim to post progress pics at least once a month..

Question..when training for this..how long do you hold or stretch when in actual split. Once i do my warm up and all the stretches and finally get to the front split im only there for a few seconds and Im like im done. Should i aim for a minute or longer on each side. What have ppl found to be the most effective length of time to actually hold the split or stretch the split after warm up and stretches?

MemberNovember 3, 2014 at 4:37 pm in reply to: How do you beat the ash monster when polingHey Vdub…ive been using it everyday..I just spray it on after my shower…If im planning on poling later in the day I don’t use anything else on my skin. Do not put this on right before you pole or you will slip. This needs to be absorbed in your skin! Also I think it helps cut down on the ash over time..dry skin needs to absorb moisture. I also will be making my own sugar scrub.of brown sugar, vitamin e oil and olive oil..that should help with the dryness too..Thanks for the knee pit tip…I will try that and let you know if that helps out..it does help when i do that in my plank..so Ill try it.
