Once you have solid control of your Scorpio and Thigh holds, you can move on to the scorpio handstand! Using proper positioning will make for greater control over the move, so pay attention to the POCs.

It does feel odd at first!
Better, I felt like I did it but it felt weird having the pole on one side of the body when trying to balance extending the legs. I was afraid of falling over!
Ok 😊 Let me know how it goes for ya!
I think I may see the problem now. I've been trying to keep the pole nearer the armpit grip instead of letting my body naturally move over when dropping down. Tomorrow is a pole day for me so I will try it again.
You could try to lower down into an elbow stand or forearm to work on the position from there.
Hmm I feel like that would be tricky to get into, it's worth trying if you feel you can get into it. I'm having s hard time visualize how you would tho.
Would it be possible to try the leg torso and hand positions from a handstand to get the feel of it from the floor first? When I try it from the invert and drop down my body twists around the pole and feels awkward and can't get the right position with my hands.
Thank YOU for your prompt and helpful response :)
Ok I see what you mean now!! I was thinking you switched the upper body placement somehow. I'm too visual to understand text! Lol yes I'd still say that's the same move just different entry! Thank you :)
Right done in a rush but shot it from 3 angles https://www.studioveena.com/videos/edit/541f2ae7-042c-4b06-b731-2d0e0a9aa0eb
Yeah, I'm not near my pole right now to try it myself a vid would be helpful!!
Shall I do a vid? My Scorpio sucks so I just did Gemini instead.
Hmm I'm having a hard time visualizing this using an outside leg hang.
I do this from Gemini instead of Scorpio but it's basically the same thing isn't it?
The hands placement is probably just a bit off. Remember the farther into the back of the shoulder blade you can bring the pole the more stable this will feel.
For some reason I have zero strength to do this handstand but can do a regular one with no problem :(( I slide down into position and when I begin to tuck my legs I feel myself lowering to my head :((
StudioVeena, I am new. Your website is fantastic and positive. Love your instructions and demonstrations. The pacing and written information on the side are so helpful in learning. Thanks again :)
Yay
Just did this move.....slowly but....did it! after learning from this video. Thanks :)
You would not be able to spin out from it but I would think it might work just to hold it from the elbows. I have never tried.
I have zero stability / balance when doing this. Can it be done on the elbows to start off with? Kind of tried that too but can't quite get it to work...
thank you!!
Make sure that your hand isn't too far under the shoulder. OR, make sure your hands are not too far apart either. You want to press through the fingers taking pressure off the wrist. You can also try turning the hand so the fingers are pointing towards the feet. Let me know how it goes.
I invert on the left side of the pole (just as you do in this video), and when doing the Scorpio HS I feel like the wrist of my left (outer) hand can't hold my weight at all, it feels somehow close to breaking ... But I can do a normal handstand without having this problem! Do you have any idea what it could be that I'm doing wrong?
Thanks so much for this lesson, really need to work on that :)
I wanna be able to do that!! It's absolutely beautiful!
