Mighty Grip Ankle Protectors (grrrr)

I bought the tacky ones and they sure do help but I just noticed that the 'tack' is starting to tear and dangle from my main climbing foot 😈 I don't use them everytime, I've worn them maybe 3-4 times now. Does anyone else have these? How long did they last you? Come to think of it though, I did let my daughter wear them once and we do have a new daschund puppy thats always at her feet... so I'm not sure if this is 'normal' wear and tear or if this is a good product that we just let the dog get to. I don't see the usual bite marks that most of her victims have 🤔

Yes, definitely email Joel. He really values customer feedback. I sent him feedback on the gloves I got a while back and it was truly the best customer service I've ever experienced - well, his and X-Pole's, anyway. I knew he had something like this coming, I'm going to have to check them out. 🙂

I have them and had the same issue after a few uses, the only tack that is torn on mine is the top. I actually only wear one on my climbing foot so I can alternate and I also flip the top down over the top tack because it sticks at times I don't want it to. There might be too much "give" in the tack stitching which makes it easier to tear. Otherwise, I'm happy with them not only because of the extra grip for climbing but also the bruising and soreness from climbing on my foot is gone.

I bought mine a few weeks ago and used them a lot and so far there aren't any problems with the tack. I really like them, I didn't get a single bruise on my feet since I got them 🥂 (I used to get really bad bruises, that even wearing shoes was painful)

I have the tack gloves and the tack anklets and both are breaking. My gloves are ripping and fraying at the seams, and the anklets stiching is all breaking where it holds the tack strips on, I'll probably re-sew these in a different way as it looks like the stitches have snapped when the material is stretched around my foot. But I can still use the gloves I have had them a good few months so should get a bit more wear out of them. I love the anklets they save my feet from so many bruises.

I dont know if I have the tacky ones or not. I got them from Bad Kitty. I've worn them about 5 times for hours with no problems. I love them. Hope mine don't start doing this but it doesn't look like they are. I still bruise but my foot just hates me. I know it's not the merchandise.

i love my ankles things from mighty, the top part breaked but i think just one more sew in the middle would solve the problem ( the seemstress in me) because it stretches and cause to break... other than that 2 thumbs up

I love my ankle grips. They have held up just fine. I did, however, rip skin on the inside of my thigh for the first time when trying to slide down the pole from an inverted crucifix, while wearing my anke grips. I don't know if it was coincidental, or if the grip on the ankles was so strong that it wasn't allowing me to slide, and just continued to pull the skin on my thighs. I had to use an emergency exit, bringing my hands back up to grip the pole, and release my leg grip to bring my feet to the floor. First blood!

Ouch. So sorry. I don't know if the problem is coincidental or not. We are working on an inside thigh protector as well as knee protectors for floor work and tack strips with an open back so one can transition from floor to pole without a problem. Will be on the web site when testing is done and final product is on hand. Joel

Thanks Joel, I just read another thread regarding humidity making people stick to the pole...maybe that was it! I still look forward to the developing inside thigh protector!! Before the actual tear, my inner thighs tended to feel like they were ripping, even when they weren't. Thanks for all the great work you do!

I love the idea of the ankle grips but I think I have the wrong size because the are really hard to put on. For that reason I've only used them twice :(

Yes, they can be a little difficult to put on as they do not have the full stretchability because of the tack strips. They must be some what tight so they do not slip when pushing up or using them for contact on the pole. If you feel the are wrong size please contact me and we will work an exchange for the next size up. Joel

The ankle protectors are really good but the tack strips do start to come off. I think if they had a few more stitches running down the strip as well as the stitching going along the strips they may be a bit more resiliant. The tighter they are the better I personally think,they are hard to pull on and off but I like them to feel secure and they really do. I think the inner thigh protectors are an amazing idea, that is the main place I bruise and it looks terrible. So will be looking forward to the thigh protectors get me 1st on your list.xx

I mean vertically, I think the stitches have broken when they are pulled on and off as the anklet is stretched horizontally to pull over the foot. I think they need vertical stitches every half inch or so. Theres a lot of stretch around the width, but not a lot of stretch going up the length and I think maybe a few stitches going up the length aswell as your stiches going around the width would make them a bit stronger. I'm no seamstress mind just an idea I had to repair mine and see if the tack strips last a bit longer x I'll do it to mine and see if the strips last any longer and let you know x

On my anklets the stitching is coming undone on the edges around the back. The fronts of them if I lay them out flat the stitching looks fine but when I turn them over the stitches on the back have either split (horizontally) or the stitches are to close to the end of the tack strip and the actual strip is fraying(vertically) hence the loose stitching at the ends. I think the 3 strips are going on mine but one foot is worse than the other but thats obviosly down to me not swapping them over. Sorry for all the vertical/horizontal dont know how else to explain it. I would say my bottom strips are the worst, then the top and then the middle. Hope this helps x

I love my ankle grips! I wear them when I am training hard and want my feet to last through long hours as in multiple workshops or when I am doing a lot of work on a new climb. I take them of for everything else so that I son't "overstick" at the wrong time. My only problem is how hard it is to get them on and off. I have thought about getting a larger size but they feel good once they are on. I so hear stiches popping when I am pulling them on or off so I am not surprised that there could be a problem with the tack strips coming off. Is there any chance that the verticle stiching stripes you were thinking about could allow more give in the matrial so that it would also be a bit easier to put them on and off? That would make them perfect!
