Lets say I wanted to bring this to the bar I perform at, where I bring my own pole. I would either have to fill it with water there, which I am picturing a mess at clean up, or bring bags of sand= possibly a bigger mess. Maybe this isn’t the pole to use in a situation like mine? Currently I bring my X Stage but am always open to new options. Thx

hmmmmmmmm, i’d want to see some pictures i guess. i didn’t have too much luck with my first PS pole, and my x-pole is still a baby (less than two years old, aww!) but its cool to hear about the newest stuff coming out!

Sorry if these are stupid questions… but in my case I’m not sure if it would work in a bar. There wouldn’t be a hose inside the bar to fill it with. Then wouldn’t I have to carry it outside to drain them before packing up into the vehicle after? Do you think this isn’t a good option for me? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif

Does this pack up small enough to fit in the trunk of a mid-sized car?

I have used Platinum Stages platforms before and was more than happy to sell all the stages once the X-stages came in and I’m not sure I trust the safety of the new free-standing poles Platinum is offering given the track records of poles falling, tipping, and getting stuck, but I am always skeptical of their products because of the many problems I’ve had with them.

There is a Conan O’Brien clip with Sheila Kelley where she appears to be using the free standing pole. The pole flexes like crazy and at several points slides all over the place. If you know what you’re doing and can control tricks I’m sure the sliding wouldn’t be as much of an issue but if you used the poles for classes or anyone not as familiar with pole dancing I just see liability all over it.

Ohhh, thanks so much for posting that! I keep thinking about that clip when I see this pole, but I couldn’t really remember where I saw it…
I love all the possibilities the freestanding pole offers, but I’m worried about scenerios like that one when the bf, or (male) friends, would try a wild spin like Conan did!
(Plus I’m expecting the thing to be too expensive, and it doesn’t spin (yet), so too many cons for me at the mo’ anyway)

OMG that pole on the Conan show was bad! They should have put something tacky under it to keep it from moving around like that! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif

If you missing some older posts….I asked Polejunkies to remove a post she made about pre selling poles to all of my members. I let her know she is welcome to talk about the new PS poles I have no problem with that https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif ….I did NOT tell her she had to remove any of the other posts she made, just the post pre selling to SV members. Its always great to hear about other products. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

I don’t think that pole used on the Conan show was a free standing pole. I believe it was attached on top, like a lil mynx pole. The bottom was loose. There was just a mat of some kind underneath the pole but it was not tacky enough to keep the pole from sliding.

ok ive been biting my tongue but i really cant stand behind a ps pole; i had a ps stainless steel 50mm for my first pole ever, it was so slippery i couldn’t even do a fireman on it; completely frustrating….i just wouldn’t recommend them compared to the fantastic, rave reviews that x-pole gets on a continual basis.

I have the same lack of grip issues on PS Stainless steel and the Chrome Xpole. But I do much better with Xpole TG or PS Brass. I really think it comes down to personal chemistry, and everyone is different. There are some things I love about the Xpole’s design that PS does not have (holes in the tubes make it break down so much easier)and some features of the PS poles that I wish Xpole had (easier and faster to set up and to simple to convert to spin mode). If only there was a hybrid that adopted the best of both brands, it would be perfect!

…I bet Sheila just didn’t fill up the damn mat. She looks like a flake. Trying to kill sweet dear Conan.

Come on. A WET PIECE OF SPAGHETTI.

…Eheheh. Kidding. I’ve no clue if Sheila’s a flake. The pole probably does suck the balls, but.. a freestanding pole really doesn’t make sense.

That said, I’m not.. really big on bashing PS. Poles falling are.. usually user error. Seriously, had I of tightened mine even 1/4 as much as I do now I -never- would have rode my pole to the floor. The spin mode on the X is way better feeling than it is on the PS. But Chrome and TG are just coatings. Stainless is grippier than chrome with wear- but chrome is the bizness even in the begining, it also looks prettier.. but PS users don’t wipe their hands half as much as Xpole users do. Both have great customer service, both are really expensive, both have great things to their names and things that suck. Remember when xpole ate the hands of it’s most dedicated users? What the hell is my PS pole top plate made out of? Why are we always losing the pins on our PS poles? Why do the xpole release tools always bend? Why does my PS pole scratch when I glance at it? Why the -hell- does piggy munch’s TG look like I glanced at it? … Both poles have people calling in to say, "What the hell is wrong with my pole?" for some weird things. Lets just all get along. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

At first, I was very intrigued by this pole, but after speaking with the company, I think I’ll spend my money on an X-Stage. I love the X products and have had major issues with PS in the past. The PS Stand Alone has to be filled with sand or water and then has to be siphoned out to be moved. I asked how long that took, but the gentleman I spoke with couldn’t give me a time, just a "Oh, not long." Doesn’t really cut it with me. He said that it came with everything you needed to fill and siphon, but I would like to see a video of this in action. Does it come with a pump? I don’t want to be draining out the water into a sink at a client’s house just to end up spilling the last bit of water stuck in the hose all over their carpet. I also do not like that it doesn’t spin yet. That’s a big downer for me.
