Today is a rest day, and I thought it might be a good time to share a video on checking to see if your pole is too tight or not tight enough, as this is not only a safety issue, but if the pole is too tight it won’t spin properly.

Pro tip: As mentioned in the video, always check your pole before you use it, every time! In addition to testing if your pole is tight enough, check the joints, base, and top to see if anything needs to be adjusted. Things like temperature changes inside and outside, humidity levels, and carpet all contribute to poles needing attention. Last, I’ve been using a pole mount on all of my poles for years now, and I highly recommend it. Quality pole sellers all have the option to purchase a ceiling mount for your pole. This mount makes set up and take down fast, it also allows the pole to spin faster as less pressure is needed than when using a dome. When installed correctly, the mount also reduces the risk of the pole falling down.
