Normally I don’t chime in on conversations here, this site is for all you wonderful pole dancers, I am just the guy who keeps the windows clean and puts gas in the tank occassionally.

That being said, I want to contribute here. Generally speaking oversight for a sport or physical art-form is provided by a governing body operating as a non-profit that is IMPARTIAL to its competitors and member businesses/organizations. They provide a framework for ranking, judging and operating safely that helps to insure that everyone plays fairly and on the same playing field. They generally require member organizations and athletes to adhere to a code of ethics. MOST IMPORTANTLY they recognize competition as essential not only in the sport but also in the industry.

Pole-dancing does not have this type of organization, that I am aware of. We have people who put on competitions, this is fun but entirely flawed as it provides no unified, unbiased platform on which to operate. No one two or three of us regardless of how skilled has the experience to govern an entire sport. No single organization with its own commercial interests can properly guide an entire sport. Over time we will need to band together, choose our leaders, and proceed to build a stronger sport/art.

If the pole has never been fully setup before it should come loose with the release rods that come with the pole (the two little bars in the black tool pouch).

What size X-pole are you setting up 45mm or 50mm. If its a 45mm there is a decreasing adapter that sometimes gets attached to one of the larger poles this should come off and be attached directly to the base, then you can attache the extensions properly.

If the extensions will fit in the middle of the pole they should fit properly at the bottom of the pole.

The Flip has a standard mounting connection on the bottom. You can attach it to any standard tripod on the market.

Veena has put hers on everything from our standard video mount to our mini tripods.

January 20, 2010 at 6:43 pm in reply to: iTunes account hacked

Just a quick note to help people understand this.

Most "hacking" occurs because your computer is infected with a virus or spyware. These infections will log your key entries, specifically usernames and passwords and send them back to the software’s owner.

The best thing you can do to prevent "hacking" is to install a good piece of security software Trend Micro, Avast, and McAffee are all great products. If you’re account information is regularly stolen it most likely means that you have an infection on your computer and you should get your machine professionally cleaned before you install the security software.

The poles ship from a Canadian Warehouse so the only costs involved are the cost of the pole and $60(US) for shipping and handling if you order from StudioVeena.Com or $80(US) if you order from somewhere else.

This is confusing to me. Every place I’ve ever worked has encouraged me to shop the competition, it’s the easiest and cheapest way to do competitive analysis. It was always assumed I was smart enough not to disclose trade secrets.

Once we receive it means the tracking number. Our warehouse ships the pole then sends the fulfillment information on to us to forward on to you. It will come as an email from PayPal.

The pole is shipped via Fedex and you will need to sign for it.

December 11, 2009 at 7:33 pm in reply to: Mobile Studioveea.com?

This is not a small undertaking. Mobile apps require an entire rethinking of your information architecture and this is why even big sites with millions of dollars dedicated to development often times have no mobile presence.

That being said we are already thinking about mobile. Our video platform, while not currently mobile has the right tools in place to make it mobile, there are other things going on as well that will aid in this. Just keep watching.

StudioVeena.Com will render great in Safari, Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome. It is in fact entirely developed on Macintosh, and I am even typing this message on a Mac. Macintosh will not force you to use Safari, you can in fact run Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera and several other browsers and if you are comfortable with emulation software you can even run Internet Explorer but I don’t recommend it because its absolutely not neccessary.

Go Mac, don’t look back you will love it. Your best value in mac is the new Macbook or Mackbook Pro 13 inch, you can also enter the Mac family inexpensively with the Mac Mini. Whatever you choose however you can’t go wrong.

November 17, 2009 at 5:22 pm in reply to: New Video Platform Wishlist

Thank-you for your comments. We are working on all kinds of things to improve all experiences on the site as an example we are adding two more servers to our array this week, which should help with the failed video encodings.

The video platform is high on our list of todos. This is step one in creating both a more mobile platform and a platform that can ultimately support the rapidly growing audience we have. We appreciate all your comments and will strongly consider them all as we move forward.

November 9, 2009 at 3:53 am in reply to: Dilemma on teachers

A very important note on non-compete contracts. In the US they are almost 100% non-enforceable if you are no longer employed by the person with whom you have the non-compete. They are based on a core tenet behind contract law requiring all involved parties to be receive fair consideration for their part in the contract.

When you are employed the consideration is that you are getting paid and the employer doesn’t have to worry about you competing with them. However when you are no longer working for the employer there is no mutual benefit.

Please note this only applies to non-compete clauses and contracts. Trade secrets are still protected, which means you can’t steal a curriculum.
