@Aviva, by sanding the pole you create abrasions and scratches that can "absorb" small amounts of water and quickly evaporate it. This is of course merely a theory as to why slimeyness may be better on the sanded pole.
I am not condoning that you sand a pole as you never know how a finish will react or how your skin may react to the dust left behind.

EagleSpirit I believe you are experiencing something entirely different than grip related to composition. You state that your pole is sanded and that other finishes become slimey. I wonder if you have such moist palms that the abrasions caused by sanding your galvanized pole provide a wicking effect, a place for moisture to go then evaporate.
Body chemistry as it relates to your pole is a very personal thing. To say "All poles of type x have the same polish and therefore won't work", while well-meaning is invalid.
You might have sweaty hands and very moist skin or you may have sweaty hands and dry skin. Your skin may be more acidic or more basic than average skin. All these things affect your grip and will have different interactions with different pole compositions.
Because you have atypical grip requirements your best bet is going to be to try as many poles as possible before making your next purchase. You may even find differences in types of brass, types of stainless and types of powder coat.

I think you may be referring to the crash mats that people buy to put around the base of their poles. It protects them in case of a fall.

Am I the only one who finds irony in the fact that the thread started with someone saying essentially "Don't take things so seriously" and now people are picking on a simple choice of metaphor? Let's try and keep the thread on track and discuss your perspectives on whether pointed toes are important or not and under what conditions.

This probably sounds silly but the most common problem keeping you from logging in on your phone is that you are using your display name rather than your email address to login.

The height adjusts easily as long as you are within the range of the pole's height.

AerialGypsy – Thats hard to say, as you know grip is more a function of body chemistry than anything. The grip has been described as softer than a normal powder coat, but it is still a powdercoat.

Charley, this is a color exclusively for StudioVeena, and its generated using a two stage process that gives the pole a more supple feel. We had a circus performer on the pole who said it was the best finish he'd ever worked on.
Currently we are not planning a static only StudioVeena Pole, but if demand is there who knows what might happen 🙂

Grip is a personal thing as can be attested by many of forum posts here. The grip is definitely different than the standard little mynx but whether its grippier, more grippy, or less grippy is going to depend on your body chemistry.
What I can tell you is that we had a circus performer playing on one of our demo units and he said it was the best finish he'd ever worked on.
The color is very purple, more towards the violet I would say. It's a beautiful metallic finish.

I have looked into this issue. I'm not yet sure what's causing it, it appears to be a security profile between browser and email clients. Certain browser versions experience this and others don't. It's a relatively recent thing as well.
