AvaBabeYay! I have taken quite a bit of hiatus from pole and SV, focusing on some schooling, setting up my business, and well... Life. Everyday I walked past my pole tired from the day, I missed it more and more! Well I say- No More! I will make time for all my lifes passions, they say the busiest people have the most time! Thank you so much for making this program! Organizing is 90% of the battle for me, this makes it no excuses too easy! Thanks again Veena!

VeenaYou should always use a crash mat when working on new things. I have some gym mats from Amazon I bought for about 50 dollars a piece. [www.amazon.com]

May 12, 2014
VeenaJasna, have you payed for a lesson subscription?
May 12, 2014
PorshkaSo, what about cross-training? Like, would you recommend that I can go running or lift weights on a given day? Looking forward to start poling again. I've been "off" for about two years - just when I was starting to get a little accomplished.
May 16, 2014
VeenaPorshka, if you plan on lifting weights or doing anything that uses resistance then do that on the same day as your pole training when you're just getting back into working out. The body needs rest days for the muscles to recover. If you are use to running you can do that any day.
May 16, 2014
rufflinaMaybe it'd be good to add what supplies you need to do the series - pole, therapy band, ?
Jul 15, 2014
VeenaGirlguineapig, by watching and following the instructions on the main video you'll see that one of the tasks is to watch each getting started video for every section. These videos do list what you will need 😄
Jul 16, 2014
VeenaSorry it's the routine videos that will include what you need to get started 😉
Jul 16, 2014

VeenaWelcome!!
Apr 14, 2015
tiburon0333879I was an avid pole dancer but life happened and caused me to quit for the last couple years. As I've tried to get back in I've been frustrated by no longer having the strength and flexibility for tricks I used to do with ease and after finally accepting that I was just going to have to go back to basics and rebuild I came across this site and I am so happy. I wasn't really sure how to begin "starting over" in my pole training but the lessons on this site are so well organized that it takes that guesswork out of the equation and makes me feel confident that I can get back to where I was and then be even better.

I do have one question. I know that you recommended doing conditioning for the 1st 2-4 weeks before beginning spins, etc. I need to work on my flexibility in addition to strength so I'm wondering whether it's okay to do the 30 days to flexy simultaneous with the 30 day take off? If so, is it best to align day 1 with day 1, etc. I noticed that some of the exercises in day 1 of flexy are the same as day 1 of the take off. If it's not ok to do them together, can you explain when you would recommend adding the flexy training in relation to the 30 day take off and the other lessons? Thanks so much!
Jun 3, 2015
VeenaHi, thank you so much! You can do them together, just be aware that you are taking the rest days that are suggested. Rest is equally if not more important than training 💜 The 30 take off does have flexibility in it so this program is best for those who are just getting back into things.
Jun 3, 2015
tiburon0333879Thanks, Veena! I appreciate you replying so quickly and I really look forward to getting back in shape with your awesome program. :)
Jun 3, 2015
VerticalVenusFirst off, it's awesome that you put together 30-day sequences like this. It's the swift kick in the rear that I need. I have no delusions about it; I'm a straight up beginner. I've had my pole for over 6 months but I always have to break because I travel a lot and I don't always get right back to it when I land home.

Question: you mention that beginners should start with 2-3 weeks of conditioning and strength lessons, but the only category I see listed in the lessons is conditioning. Are both already incorporated in the 30-day challenge and that's what you meant by it, or am I missing something?
Jun 18, 2015
VeenaIf you are using the 30 day take off then everything is layed out for you, conditioning and all. I'm referring to those who do not choose to do the take off plan 😊
Jun 18, 2015
emilyschlabach2647I'm very beginner but so thankful I was referred to Veena's I love this site and how you train!! I don't have a pole yet :( just curious what are good, safe beginner pole recomendations and aprox how much is a pole? :-)
Jul 1, 2015
VeenaHi. Xpole and lil mynx poles are good quality poles. Google them and you'll find pricing 💜

Sacred Geometry Paid MemberHi Veena, I've been poling for a year and six months but I'm going to make sure all my basic movements are polished with your plan and guidance....and them supplement my classes with all your amazing and precise refinements. I am almost 47 yrs old and do yoga and heavy daytime work stuff so my muscles are on board but but my brain has senior moments! I love how you break everything down so precisely - step by step is exactly what I need! Once I finish your basic protocol I'm anxious to get to the more advanced stuff....I am in a "level 3" class but need lots of review. My older brain is slower so I need exactly the wonderful explanations you provide. Well...I may be older but I have more stamina at this age that most of the other gals...pain isn't an issue when you've gone through childbirth! Yet...safety first...plus some sexy, hardcore fitness along the way. I'm so glad I found your site! Thank you, Veena ,from the bottom of my heart!!!
Jul 26, 2015
VeenaThank you for the lovely reply!!💜💜💜

Sacred Geometry Paid MemberYou're welcome! You help a lot of girls (and some boys) feel better about their bodies and capabilities....so my admiration and hat is off to you, Veena!!!!
Jul 30, 2015
A ChristinaI can't figure out to do a smooth static spin. Also, do I need a crash mat on carpet?
Aug 8, 2015
VeenaSpinning smoothly on static takes practice, keep working at it and focusing on timing and the push and swing leg. A crash may is always a good idea. 😊
Aug 9, 2015
rlffzaJust purchased my year subscription today! So excited to get started!
Sep 20, 2015
VeenaYay, enjoy!
Sep 20, 2015
Suemorhall6323Been poling for a little while but keep injuring myself so I decided to go right back to basics and start again. studio Veena came highly recommended - I'm hoping it's going to sort me out so I can really crack on with some decent training 😄 Can't wait to get started
Oct 11, 2015
VeenaEven the most advanced dancer can benefit from working on the basics 😊 I hope you will soon be dancing injury free!!
Oct 11, 2015
chiaramobilyHello there! I am just about to start with this and hope I will go from beginner to advanced. Now... I have a question. I am about to start the 30 day take off program.

But... for example this very "day" has one main video, "Getting started 30 days", and then underneath there are five videos, "Getting started", "Getting started spins", "Basic warm up", "Getting started foam roller", "Getting started stretching". I assume they are all part of Day 1, right?

But then! The beginners section has "Basic warm up", which is meant to be around 8 minutes, but then underneath it there is "Pole plie", "Forward lunge". "Basic pole walk", "Pull in walk", "Shoulder slide"... are those only "related" videos? In the "beginners" course, shall I just do one video after the other, in order, as shown in [https:] ? How do we have to treat hte videos "underneath"?

I just want to make sure I use this course right D

Nov 13, 2015
VeenaHi! For both the 30 day take off and 30 days to flexy, you watch the main player video first, (each day) this tells you what to do for the day and gives you tips.

Then to complete the day you click on each lesson BELOW the main player. That's all you do if you're following the program. When doing the any of the programs you don't need to go anywhere on the site for lessons unless you want to, the Take off program has everything you need in it.

If you use the lessons without doing the 30 day program, (on your own) then start by watching the "getting started" lesson place at the beginning of each section and it will tell you info you need to know for each section.
Nov 13, 2015
chiaramobilyOk thanks! I am currently going to the gym 5 days a week. My plan was to do the 30 days takeoff, then 30 days to flexy, and then start the "normal" lessons. If I do all of the lessons in the 30 day takeoff and the 30 days to flexy, will I have done ALL of the lessons in the "Beginners" section? Shall I move on to other lessons? Sorry for the bother, I just want to make sure I am getting this right!
Nov 14, 2015
VeenaIt's not a bother, that's why I'm here! There may still be some lessons you didn't see, but most of them are included in the take off program. It's always worth going through everything from the beginning when you start off on your own even after the program.
Nov 14, 2015
Neesy118 Paid MemberAt it...again!!!!!!!! I've lost all sense of working out, I feel so unorganized and well really lost. So I thought, just go back and start again. Day 1 completed, am also adding the 30 days to Flexy. Thank you Veena!

VeenaI think that was a wise idea! Enjoy the journey 🚙

MoonLightShadowDancer Paid MemberHello! I am super excited to start these lessons!!
Aug 13, 2016
PoleAdventures Paid MemberVeena I have a question. As I wrote a have/had a injury on my neck and shoulder. It's nothing bad only some very stiff muscles that don't want relax and so I have some pain on the shoulder and neck. So my physiotherapist said that I can start again softly. So do you recommend this 30 day take off to come back on pole or do you think it's too much for a soft start? Physio said it's ok to do strenght training.
Oct 28, 2016
VeenaThe program is designed for those who have no fitness training at all so if you're cleared for strength training it should work well for you! Maybe add a few stretches and foam rolling for the shoulders at the end.
Oct 28, 2016
PoleAdventures Paid MemberThank you Veena! Unfortunately I lost a lot of strength. I don't know if its only temporarily and just my feelings or I lost it really. But I think to start soft is better until I feel comfortable again! So I will try and hope :)
Oct 29, 2016
Cantetinza17I'm coming back after YEARS of time off. I've gained so much weight and I'm so out of practice that I'm back to the beginner phase. I'm ready to get my strength back!
Oct 13, 2017
mummypole Previous Paid MemberHi Veena I started the 30 day challenge yesterday, need to get my strength back, due to having a Yr off 😔 xx
Nov 10, 2019
Jordan TDo you need a pole for the 30 day challenge? I don't own one at all
Mar 23, 2020
VeenaHi Jordan T yes, it requires a pole...the 30 day take off program is for new pole dancers to become familiar with the pole. There's a 30 day flexy program that doesn't require a pole. You can also find several no pole routines in the routine section. I also have an exercise section that doesn't use any equipment.
