I’m sorry this happened, and it’s normal to feel bad, but as others mentioned it’s not worth your energy to let her get to you.
I have totally been there! Back before I started SV I was harassed and bullied on my old YT channel by other pole dancers! In fact many of my videos would be flagged so they couldn’t be viewed by everyone, it’s one of the reasons I started a new channel. People can be cruel. That hurt, mostly because I had felt like I had finally found something that fit ME and I could be part of a group. I ended up feeling very alone. That is why it’s so important to me that SV is a place of kindness and support!
Keep doing what you love, you never know who you may inspire by sharing yourself, but only share if you’re prepared to ignore negativity. If I hadn’t been treated so poorly I may not have realized that SV needed to have a focus on kindness, so I’m grateful to them!! 💜💜

Honestly a 6 inch heels is more comfy than the sorter heels, if we’re talking stripper heels. I like both brands Phoenix mentioned. Make sure they have an ankle strap too!

Octoberfox, have you read the Veena method teacher training manual? https://www.studioveena.com/methods/letter It’s a quick read and it might help you feel better about things! You will also see you’re not alone in feeling this way! In fact I know far too many ex-pole dancers who left or stopped never to start again because they felt behind.
There simply is no level that anyone needs to achieve to be a pole dancer, my goal is to help everyone find the joy in the journey of pole or whatever they enjoy doing. You wouldn’t start a gymnastics class expecting to be in the olympics only 2 yrs into training. I personally feel the pole community (outside SV) puts too much emphasis on high level tricks and fame. I want everyone to understand that pole can be fun and enjoyable at ANY level! Also fame fades away, it’s not possible to continue to stay the “it” girl or guy forever. Enjoy your journey now. xoxo

I agree with the thought of asking if there is an option to have a beginner class, because if someone is going for the first time even a fireman can be too much. It’s also very challenging if you can’t work on flow either, flow and lines are something that any level can focus on. Is there a reason you can’t or don’t work on flow? You might wanna check out my teacher training manual (if you haven’t already) to see if you get any ideas there as well. It’s free btw. https://www.studioveena.com/methods/letter

Yes, you can always use the search box to put terms in like shoulder flexibility to find lessons. Also you’ll see that all lessons are grouped together and descriptions mention what the focus will be. These lessons should get you started 🙂
If you haven’t already do these first
For just shoulders try these

I’m wondering if you saw this dance? https://www.studioveena.com/videos/view/55e7437a-5548-43e4-a04a-6fe90a9aa0eb You can always see what dances I’ve done by going to my profile here and clicking Videos 🙂
Also my lessons are easy to use regardless of background or fitness level. The 30 day take off program is a best place to start because I tell you exactly what to do for the first 30 days. By the end you’ll have a better understanding of how to arrange your own pole practice and you’ll have build up the necessary strength. I don’t sell single lessons, when you choose which lesson package you’ll have full access to every lesson on here, including programs! I don’t do bundles or anything like that, once you pay you’ve got access to everything 🙂

Even if you’ve taken pole classes in the past, and are in shape, starting with the take off program is helpful because I may take a different approach to teaching than others. The program helps you not only build strength but understand basic pole fundamentals. If you would like to do more than what is suggested for a particular day feel free 😊 Just remember all lessons in every section are placed in progressive order. Let me know if you have any other questions!

I think you’ll have to keep your eyes open 👀

LOL yes, I’ve used larger than 50 (often found in bars) and I’m not fond of it for hand grips, but everything else wasn’t bad. Yeah, it’d be much easier on you guys if you had a smaller pole!
-
hahah, can you imagine kissing someone with glitter beard!!!
-
I hope you find some of these suggestions helpful! Also if your hands aren’t slipping from sweat try making sure the pole and your hands are warm. It will also help you feel more secure once your grip strength improves. Check out the hand strength exercises in the conditioning section for help with grip strength.

Yeah, I’ve got about 5 from my Periscope broadcasts. If you go to my profile here https://www.studioveena.com/videos/index/bc36cd42-d89d-11df-ab19-12313b090e12 you’ll find them all. A good number of viewers just listen in at work 🙂

Let me know how the lesson works for you!

I agree cotton doesn’t hold up and tends to become too baggy, at least for bottoms. I don’t care about matching sets and I buy more bottoms than tops. I like bikini tops for pole. 👙

I hope everyones injuries are improving by now! Keep in mind ice is great for the initial injury and if you find there is swelling after using that muscle group. Heat works well for soothing and improving blood flow to areas like tendons, ligaments and lower blood flow areas. The theory is that by improving blood flow it can speed up healing, so for some, icing too often can slow down the healing process by decreasing blood flow. Massage and foam rolling after the muscle has been warmed is helpful too.
