Hi! That’s totally normal and you might even see some bruising later.

Here’s something that will help prevent unnecessary pain this. My rule for working on new tricks is limit yourself to about 10 attempts per side, 20 mins is a long time to work on one move. If you keep working on the same move over and over, chances are you will only make yourself sore and sometimes all we need is to step away, let our brain absorb what we just learned and try later in the week.

Hi there, welcome to he site. This is such a tricky one to answer…the pole you sure get is the one you can afford. So much affects grip. Climate, skin, your pole space. Just know that for the most part you can find a grip aid that will help you with any pole finish. The most common finishes I hear people complain about are chrome (but I think most buy chrome to start) and powder coated. I have every finish and love brass the most, then powder coated, SS, TG and last chrome. I have dry to normal skin and have lived in humid, cold, dry and hot climates. Brass and PC have been the most consistent.

Hi Colleen! Hope you’re having a nice holiday. It’s a good decision to do the program instead even though you’re not new to stretching. Sticking with something is the first step as you mentioned, but also remember that every time you dance use your full range of motion. Don’t skimp on elongating movements just to work on a new move. I have seen wonderful gains by training this way. I see a lot of people work on moves without being mindful of creating length so keep that in mind.

I have both bees knees and the old version of mighty grip knee pads. I like them both.

Just knock on the ceiling it will go from hollow sounding to solid when you find the joist. 😊

That would be waaaaay too tight. Tighten till you feel a few returns of resistance then push and pull on the pole. Try the spin mode and if its spins well your good, if it’s slow and clunky it’s too tight.

Sounds like you’ve over tightened the pole.

Welcome to the website!! Oh, that sounds so frustrating! Chrome is one of those finishes that seems to be problematic for sweaty hand people. Avoid getting itac or anything that is sticky/waxy on your pole, those are more for people with dry hands. Dry hands is a good option, but you’ve tried that….Some people find mighty grip works. I’m not sure of any new grid aids for sweaty hands though.

To get all the stuff off the pole use a steamer! It will remove all the old grip aids and might help, at least for a bit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RdjeYnLLaBw&t=15s

You have to find the beam, it can damage the ceiling if you don’t and it’s not safe. Use a stud finder or knock on the ceiling to find the beams and direction they run. If you find the beam you don’t need anything to protect the ceiling. I have rented for years and never had a problem with my xpoles damaging the ceiling.

I have a pair of their other leggings not the superhero. They are not super grippy on any finish, but I was under the impression that was intentional. I thought that the superhero were suppose to be far more grippy though, so that’s frustrating to hear!! Superfly are real grippy but they don’t fit me well 🙁
