I want to let you all know I’m so pleased with the spirit in which we have all discussed a touchy subject!! Its a rare thing to find on a forum…..its very refreshing to see adults behaving like…well… adults https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif I loved reading all your points of view. HUZ to you all https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
I’ll keep mine short…….I love ALL aspects of pole dancing, the dirty, the sensual, the sporty, the aerial, and heartfelt emotional!!! Finding this incredibly diverse art form has been wonderful for my spirit. I have always love music, and have felt a need/desire to express it…(I play many instruments, sing and did some figure skating back in the day) but non of those forms of musical expression have ever really "done it" for me. I have found my "thing" I discovered both Pole Dancing and Dance at about the same time. When I watch dancing, not just pole, but any style and any form, it takes me to another place in my mind, so much more emotional then I had ever thought I could be!! I cry all the time over music I hear on the radio and performances I see on YT or TV! I am not a crier mind you!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif Its wonderful what this world of dance has done TO me, I only wish I had experienced this all sooner in my life. I hope the "dance" is never taken away from the ART that is pole, now THAT would be something to cry about! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

If you have OVERTIGHTENED your pole against the ceiling then it will not spin as fast and as freely. The adjuster rod should not be tightened so much that you can no longer turn it.

I just received my hoopnotica hoop a few days ago, its the travel hoop. I have to say I prefer my homemade hoops. My hoopnotica hoop is warped and it huge!! LOL I know its easier to hoop with a larger size but this is BIG. It will be fun to take with though. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif I ended up making two new hoops myself too.

The bottom loading X will have a cover for the bottom. X pole has a lot of cool things to come, but they don’t want us blabbing about it too much. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_silent.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_silent.gif

A nice stretching routine is one of the next things on my to do list for the new lessons, for now if you have the lessons check out the cool down, that is where the stretching is for now!!! Great suggestion.

AdministratorJanuary 22, 2010 at 12:34 am in reply to: Caterpillar to butterfly, can’t seem to do itAre you trying to to the Basic Butterfly (using an elbow or forearm grip keeping your body close to the pole) or the Butterfly (using a split grip holding the body away from the pole)? Make sure you understand the proper positioning for the leg that is on the pole. If your leg is in the right position you wont need someone to hold your leg in place, just like in the caterpillar the leg should be pulling against the pole. The point of contact of the leg that is on the pole will be, behind the heel, along the inside of the knee. If you moving into the butterfly from a caterpillar there is no reason for you to be shifting anything around you will simply remove the opposite leg off the pole. Be sure that your hips are squared. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Perhaps I’ll give my CKR a couple of days before I try again. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cat.gif
One other thing while were at it….your pain tolerance can be at its lowest when your menstruating so some moves may feel more painful on your skin! -
Ahh yes thank you Yoga! I have heard that before, I also have read that in India most women don’t practice yoga at all while they are on their "holiday" https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif
