Oh E… I didn’t mean taller polers have it easier with this one….I meant its especially important for taller pole dancers to tuck (get scrunchy) otherwise the body wont have the correct P.O.C. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif

We emailed each other a few times on YT when we were first starting out. Found out we had a lot in common so that was pretty neat! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif Wow does time fly…..

cardio is a big part for sure…you need low body fat to have the flat ripped look. For a flat tummy the Transverse abdominals are important to train. So moves like the switch (found in the lessons) are great for that. Here is a vid I did on tips for abs

get srunchy…..lol while in your pole sit make sure your tucking the body in and not straightening it up tall, you’ll get a better grip on the pole….its really helpful if your a taller poler. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

I have learned that letting the sad feeling of "wishing" you could do this or have that… need to be kicked our the window!!!! LOL IF YOU WANT SOMETHING YOU CAN FIGURE OUT AWAY TO MAKE IT HAPPEN! Don’t get trapped in the "but if I only" thinking… take control and work hard for what you want with the resources you have. When I feel like everyone is better than me I stop watching others for awhile. Sometime we get so caught up in comparing our dancing or number of difficult moves against others……this can make some want to fight harder, but others feel down and defeated. Just focus on YOUR work and perfecting YOUR moves…..I have found that as long as I only compare my progress to well…MY progress then I see gains and feel good about things. We tend to be our own worst enemy….start looking at yourself in a positive way. There will always be someone better than you at something….It sucks… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_pale.gif but once you realize that, you can let go and just worry about striving for you personal best!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif I don’t know if that was helpful at all but I hope so https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_albino.gif

Do NOT use lotion….you don’t want to slip and fall! You want your skin to stick. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumleft.gif Most dancers have the opposite complaint not enough grip!I know at first it can be painful, but as you become more comfortable with the moves you’ll learn how to adjust the pressure against the pole and this will allow you to slide. You will also notice it burns less and less. You’ll also stick more when the room is warm and there is humidity in the air. Keep at it https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif

Chem that did sound rude silly! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_geek.gif Welcome to the site!!!! If a member posting something we have already talked about it’s a sign that the site is busy growing!!!!! That is a GREAT THING https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif Yes this has been a big topic for a while now. I know its still going on all over Facebook too!
My feeling are: Yes, it could be in the Olympics we all know it takes skill, strength, training ect….BUT if it happens more than likely it will be taken over by gymnasts (I doubt we would see Felix as a competitor) and regulated so much that the art of it would/could not exist. I love my pole DANCE. Pole is ART ATHLETIC and EXOTIC. I respect them all but my personal favorite is the art one can bring to pole! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

after working on this for 2 sessions now…..I would say doing these shoulder stabilizing moves would be highly recommend. I started doing them. Lateral Pulls http://ver3.studioveena.com/lessons/view/4657 and Rear Shoulder Pulls http://ver3.studioveena.com/lessons/view/4588. We are really asking a lot of our shoulders so be sure to engage them before lifting the body up off the floor. Using a wide grip on a lat pull cable machine would be helpful as well. Taller ladies will have to work harder but I feel anything is possible so I’ll keep at it. Oh one more thing…..I wouldn’t work on the TG more than 2 max 3 times a week, you don’t want a overuse injury to stop your progress. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rambo.gif STRETCH YOUR FORE ARMS AND UPPER BODY AFTER

I wish I could help you……I can’t lift into the move either. I understand the concept of turning the hip ect…but I just can get my long skinny body up there. lol I had been hitting the weights hard but then August came along and all our weeks of vacation sucked my strength way. I can no longer hold the Iron X either. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rambo.gif I plan on getting back into strength training this week now that things have slowed down. If anyone else has tips that would be great too.

Its normal. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif If your taking the Online lessons here are some stretches you can do at work and after pole http://ver3.studioveena.com/lessons/view/3261
http://ver3.studioveena.com/lessons/view/3222Heres a massage that feels great after pole too.

I have 8 X poles totally and non of them have flaked…..as long as your not wearing tons of sharp things and rings that would scratch your pole the finish will be fine. I like chrome because I can never stick well to Stainless steel poles. If you have a chances to try different finishes I would. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif
-
Hi, Welcome! I love X pole 45mm …the Chrome finish is a great for new dancers, the Titanium Gold can be tooo grippy for beginners making static spins slow and more painful. Once you get a pole or even before…I have a lot of great lessons for all levels. They also include strength training work both with and without a pole! This will prepare your body for the demands you’ll place on it once you start to learn moves. I think there are some dandy studios in your area too!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I LIVE IN MINNEAPOLIS!!!!!! There a few studioveena gals here in the city. There are some bars that have poles and we go out from time to time and show them how its done. HEHE
One of my favorite places to hang out is in the city an area called "uptown" its very hip and has tons of resterants and cool shops. There is an exotic dancer store called "Venus" in uptown that has shoes and fun pole dance wear. There is also a State Fair going on at the moment, its a fun experience. You can see live stock, carnival rides, concerts and eat lots of fatty foods. LOL
Send me a private message if you would like to meet up sometime or if you have any questions. Nice to have you here in MN! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

No I wouldn’t start from a chair….if you do get up and can’t hold the position, you could possibly come down hard and fast!!! You could smash right into the chair again…. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif I always teach this from the floor. Remember the farther away from the pole like almost lying down, the easier it will be. If your sitting or standing straight against the pole it will be suuuper hard….
here is the lesson for the SM if your taking them online here https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif
