Yes, if you over tighten the x pole your spin mode will be slow. Everyone comments on how smooth and fast my x pole is, so it does have a lot to do with installation. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif

My pole is over 13 feet tall and its a 45mm x pole. Using their permanent mount allows you do add more height to your x pole.
@ Chem I was told that the Bespun poles are not X pole brand.

I personally love the dance "expression" on the floor as floorwork and also as transitions. BUT now that I can only dance with one foot, I have decided to challenge myself to try and "dance" or express myself while ON the pole. I now have the height on my pole for it so I'm hoping to accomplish that. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

1 you should have a little hex key with your pole, this fits into small screws at the base of the pole, make sure the screws are not missing. Also are you sure its on spin? Did you maybe not tighten the adjuster rod enough?
2 In the veena method, I don't consider most spins as simple or as beginner moves. They are something you will need to work up too. So don't feel bad. When you do sign up for the lessons I start you off with strength moves that you work on first, and also we work on transitions, and floorwork building up strength as you work towards spins.

I just saw the kid post too….I use to worry this too. What other kids/parents may say and my kids being made fun of or outcast. I now feel I'll deal with it when and IF it ever comes up. It's not worth worring about, it may never even be an issue.

Sex is normal…. its human…. America is obsessed with it, but yet we also are told to treat it like its dirty! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_evil.gif
I feel that we need to keep talking about sex, along with our stripper shoes and booty shorts., as part of a normal thing we humans do and ENJOY. I don't hide my shoes from my boys, they see my feather boas too https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif I plan on being honest about things of a sexual nature as they grow. I have been so far. My mom doesn't care for my sexy self expression on the pole but that is understandable. She doesn't have to watch a video of me dancing that way if she dislikes it. I want other women to feel ok with expressing their sexy self too!!!!
With all that being said…I totally understand why you might feel we need to "unsexify" what we do but. I don't think that is helping anyone in the long run. I grew up in a conservative home where cleavage and any thing slightly sexy was never talked about. I learned about sex from church and Christian books….that was not good. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif I pretty much felt like a dirty whore for enjoying feeling sexy and expressing sexy when I was first married. Cuz hey I was always told "sex is only for making babies other than that you should passionate love" blahh I just wasn't that kind of girl. LOL
Buttercup….I don't know what your situation with your husband is but, like Cinara said. If it would help YOU personally and keep your family as one, then go ahead and "spin" pole as a sport or exercise only. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif BUT you also need to be true to yourself! If YOU enjoy the sexy side of pole then be careful that your not disregarding part of who you are to please others.
I find sensual dancing so beautiful in all women, we are so powerful!

I prefer to watch dance and not just tricks. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif

Of course it's ok to post this….we talk about everything here. LOL
I have used the NuvaRing before. It was one of the only BC that didn't make me crazy emotional or sick. I stopped using it only because it didn't stay in place for me well. I had used it after having my first 2 boys, so that was probably why. I think a lot of other BC options can cause weight gain too…but I can't remember for sure. So my experience with it was pretty good. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_safesex.gif

Don't feel bad at ALL! You did great! I can understand how you feel. I know my first time performing I did not do very difficult tricks. Its better to use solid moves that you feel comfortable with then bust out something where you could sip. Now you know what the conditions could be like and you'll be more prepared next time!!! Or you could just do what I did…break your foot and not use the pole at all. LOL https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

The girls have some great idea's! Being nice and fully warmed up before dancing and warming your pole well is soooo helpful! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I include tips for avoiding the collarbone in all of the Shoulder Lessons. https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/4d6bac4d-8044-4fa9-9aaa-66300ac37250 Check that your placing the pole on the traps right by the neck and not off towards the outside of the body/shoulder.

I agree that pointed feet, extension, lines are important….BUT….this takes time for pole dancers to learn. Many members here don't even have a dance background. The majority of members here are also new to pole and this will be something they work towards…..Keep on dancing everyone we can't all be perfect. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif Pointed feet are important but I feel its more important that you all enjoy pole journey.

Try recording what your planning on doing for floorwork or a pole routine for that matter, and watch it over and over and over. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif
