Rest and ice I would think is your best bet as mentioned before. Give that shoulder some time to calm down before sm again. Feel better soon!

Hi welcome to the site! To have the best grip, make sure you are nice and warmed up, also if you dance in a cold room make sure the pole has been warmed too. Also be sure to squeeze using the muscles too and not just the skin 😉

I have the xpole brass, I can only use it when the weather and body is really hot. Titanium gold is the best all sound pole for me too. Keep in mind xpole stated here that they have a new formula for the brass poles now. Lyme, PS brass is different than cooked old brass, not sure about the new brass.

Do you have an iron though?? You don't need a clothes/fabric steamer and you really don't need a steam cleaner! others have used just an iron on steam. X pole had told me they were in the process of making a video explaining how to clean the brass pole. I don't think its up yet though.
-
Did you try steam cleaning it?

HI welcome to the site!! Try working out every other day to give your body a chance to rest. I call these "rejuvenation" days! If you happen to be taking the lessons start off by watching each of the "Getting Started" lessons for each section. They have great tips and info on structuring your pole workouts. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Yep, I have nice long routines for each level. I tell you what you'll need to know before trying the routine and I break them down into sections, to make learning easier. There is slow motion and step by step instruction. These routines are longer than ones I have seen on DVDs. Here is the beginner routine, I posted a while back….for FREEhttps://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif….https://www.studioveena.com/videos/view/0fb1598c-b90a-11df-856f-001b214581be

If you're feeling strain on the knee then you should stop, and check your body alignment. Something as simple as changing your body placement could fix the pain. This is an advanced pose, so you need to have other things under your belt before moving on to this. To get the most out of the stretch you posted you'll want the hips squared, so both are facing forward. If you are taking the lessons try working on these before moving on to the advanced pose. Shoulder moblity and back moblity is needed as well.
Here are some lessons that will help you achive this pose…..
Thigh stretch https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/4dfb5178-ba64-438e-8bf4-5f360ac37250
Deep lunge https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/4dfca7ca-0fb0-4805-afbb-20310ac37250
Chest stretch https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/4de78f3b-a0ec-49b0-a7d6-48bf0ac37250

The Back Mobility routine https://www.studioveena.com/lessons/view/4f5fbd45-6c18-4371-84a6-3f4a0ac37250 and Side splits routine will also help. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

The lessons here are viewable on most smart phones. If you have been nursing an injury please make sure you give yourself time to heal! Handsprings are very advanced.

Soooo many pieces of equipment for exercise and stretching…hey, even for baby, are not necessary, or worth the money. They give promise of, better flexibility, more strength, a happier baby and really, consistency could be the best "tool" you could ever use! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

If you cannot place the pole where the rib is not in contact, don’t do it. Please remember not all moves are right for all people. Listen to your body, stay within your bodies limits and live to pole another day!

Sexual and seductive come across differently to different people…. and what one person sees as offensive another may view it as art or completely appropriate.

I have moved a lot!! Each time, I either feel a little lost or super happy when I put my pole up in its new surroundings, as Chem mentioned. Right now, I still don't feel 100% at home in my new studio space and I have been here for about 5 months.
It seems, for me anyway, as I said before, the first few times back on the pole can either feel amazing or confusing and depressing. It was after the move to our most recent place, that, for the first time ever…I have found myself just staring at the poles wondering what I should do…that NEVER has happened to me, ever!!!! But it did pass. It did scary me!! lol So, I guess I'm just saying it can happen to anyone, you're not alone. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

Working on balance on the floor can help with balance on the pole too! Working on Handstands, elbowstands, forearm stands are all great. Yoga poses that require balance are also helpful. Another thing to remember when transitioning from one move that requires balance to another is….go sloooooow. Take your time and don't rush to the next position. Breath! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif Finding your center takes time and LOTS of practice, so keep at it an be patient.

Fitchix, I feel ya, I don't have a dominate side either. I work both sides too, this is something I feel is important and stress to those who take the lessons here. Maybe just make a vid doing the moves you do on both sides. I know for me there are a few moves that I am not as comfortable with on one side, so maybe you have a move that you have yet to nail you could post?
Also keep in mind, you don't have to do every challenge, maybe try one of the others you haven't done yet this month instead? You can do any challenge at anytime. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

If you are just starting don't get discouraged, building the strength needed for pole takes time! But it gets better. Sounds like you are taking the lessons, so make sure you have watched all of the "getting started" lessons placed at the beginning of each section. This will help you plan your workouts. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif

I was thinking either dubstep music or opposite side/non dominate side. Any preference?

Also remember the Caterpillar is not the Climb! The caterpillar climb you release the legs, sliding them up the pole, this is more advanced. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

I don't have any suggestions other than, try giving them a little lesson. It could be a good opportunity to bond with them. But are you asking just about how to deal with the pole or just deal with his kids in general? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_pumpkin.gif

Yep, AG, that is how I felt when I first started using my TG pole. I couldn't do combos ect, I was so use to having the ability to slide into place, making slight adjustments. This is why I don't recommend new dancers use the very grippy finishes. I've literally had skin rip off https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif it doesn't happen anymore, unless I"m working on new stuff. We have the default set to chrome when people order, I think that is a good general pole finish. It's all so personal though, but we have to start on something! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif I've very lucky and do not suffer from sweaty hands.
