Sounds like overuse!!! Other than rest there is nothing you can do to speed up healing.

October 20, 2013 at 10:05 pm in reply to: Technique to get better at Pole! Would you be interested?

Pole dance is just as mental as physical! If you continuely tell yourself something is impossible or continually think you will never get it then you make it so much harder for yourself. The members here are very protective of their site 😉 As mentioned anything that sounds like an ad that isn’t posted with our Permission tends to be questioned.

Thank you for sending us an email asking to post. I can see that you’re passionate about this technique and that’s great! Feel free to talk with others on here about the technique, just make sure it doesn’t come off as selling something 🙂

We’ve never encourage our members to hide their pole dancing! I myself often posted about the importance of sharing, in order to remove the “stigma”. Yet I fully respect those who feel they don’t need to share. There is a time and place for everything.

Ever since we started this website we’ve encouraged others to share if they can! 💜

Hi Loveleahannah. As Reenie mentioned spins are not the best thing for new polers to start with. You'll want to do pole work and conditioning work that strengthen the muscles, before working on spins. If you have a home pole you may want to check out the lessons here. I have everything in order for you building strength as you go. I also have a 30 day take off program that would be helpful as well and its included when you purchase the lessons. You can try them for 3 days using this code. GET3FREE I know you'll love them!

Here is a little video about the 30 day program. https://www.studioveena.com/videos/view/50e4694e-a85c-4fa0-8e66-61940ac37250

You wont regret saving up and buying a quality pole like the SV or xpole! We've heard many stories of girls buying a cheap pole only to have it break or even injure them. As the ladies mentioned, customer service can be such a help and both poles have good service.

I would still suggest doing the 30 days, I don’t have you pole everyday and even if you don’t follow it there is important info in each lesson. However if you would rather do it on your own then start by watching the Getting Started lesson. This explains how to use the lessons. Each Getting Started has important info and will help you create a workout plan 🙂

Yeah, PFM I am so happy my Dad saw my dancing and hooping too. When he would come to visit he watched me practice new things and always said “I just don’t know how you hold yourself like that!” Lol

Both our SV pole and xpole are great poles. I love our pole because of the finish and how user friendly it is. We rent too and I have put 3 mounts up for my SV pole 🙂 it’s not difficult to fill in the hole made for the pole.

October 14, 2013 at 7:12 pm in reply to: How do you warm up before back stretching?

You DO need to be warm before working on back mobility!!!!!!!

I do my training after my upper body workout at the gym too or after taking a super hot bath then doing a few mobility exercises.

I have a back mobility routine in the lessons that can help you understand the progression for back mobility.

I think it depends on the kind of relationship you have with your dad.

I danced for my dad and mom in my own home because they had never seen what I do in person, but the songs and my outfit we appropriate for the relationship I had with my conservative dad. I would not have been comfortable taking either of my parents to an event like USPDF.

However, I was at a Dita von teese show and her mom, dad, and other family were there watching her burlesque performance and they were soooooo proud! So I think it just comes down to how open your family is.

CloSmo, all poles weather they are removable or permanent need to be placed on a "beam" If the beams are far apart then using a square of wood can be done if you're using the dome on an xpole. If you want to screw your xpole in, then you would want to buy the xpole vaulted ceiling adaptor. That screws into your beam/joist and the pole goes in to the adaptor and you don't need the dome any more.

That's a tough one Monica! To tell or not to tell is always an interesting discussion! I have the luxury of working for myself so I tell everyone! I even told one of the waitresses at our favorite sushi place. It was interesting because she told me, her only reference for pole was what she has seen on TV. There was no mention of strippers at all or pole being sexy at all!

October 13, 2013 at 4:04 pm in reply to: Gemini/Scorpio/which side do you invert on?

Names are such a tricky thing because everyone just uses whatever for names. You can always check out our gallery here for names and AKA lists too. AKA's are listed in lesson descriptions as well.

When going into a outside leg hang AKA Gemini you invert on the opposite side so the outside leg is used to hang. Just as you observed.

You should be working on inverts from BOTH sides always! There is not one correct side to be inverting on. 🙂

I suggest learning it the same way you would the sm. From the floor! Use a mat because you’ll be landing on the knees.
