Yep, when in doubt, take it out! As a judge or spectator, I dislike feeling as though the dancer may fall or is dancing outside of their abilities! I don’t care how advanced your tricks are I want to be entertained, tell me a story or show me your soul 💜

AdministratorSeptember 13, 2015 at 5:14 pm in reply to: studios in San Francisco- any recommendations? This thread gave me an idea! I was thinking it might be fun to get together at a park to meet up and play!! I realize I have a lot of equipment we could use….. 3 stage poles, one stage could have the lollypop lyra on it, I also have an Xpole A frame for Hammock and lyra, along with many hula hoops of various sizes. We could make it a potluck and bring snacks to share! If I have time, a get together before the winter rain would be fun!
What do you guys think?

How strong is your caterpillar, and how are you entering into the butterfly? I teach caterpillar before butterfly because it helps you learn to stack the body and improves strength.

AdministratorSeptember 11, 2015 at 12:31 pm in reply to: HELP!! Outdoor poling in humid climatesOh no! I hope you’re doing ok!!! I find that itac gets so greasy in heat, it’s not good at all in warm conditions. It’s best used for cold poles and dry skin, even then as you warm it can become slick. Dry hands, dirty girl and might grip are better options for warm humid conditions. You want grip aids that dry not add tack! Dew point is also not the best option for humid and warm conditions.

I use between 10 – 18 pounds for anything that uses arms only. For chest and back I use 20 – 40 pounds depending on the exercise. I will say that I have not lifted weights in a LOOOOONG time. You can get a great workout using body weight and things like a suspension trainer and pull up bar. I do a lot of the exercises I post to the lessons, like the newest ones for the challenge.
