Kathryn, you can also look at the more advanced pics, so see grips while inverted, you will not find any twisted grip photos as I do not feel this grip is the best option. You will find detailed video in the lessons for grips.
True and cup grip are the same, Bracket and split grip are usually interchangeable terms as well. Twisted grip is best to use when inverted and up on the pole. Kicking from standing in Twisted grip is not the best option.

When I was first playing around with this idea, my plan was to mimic a Jade, but on the floor! It took some doing to figure out the mechanics but ever since I worked it out Its been a fav of mine. I have not heard any thing about that website. I haven’t found too many free programs that are decent and user friendly. Maybe someone else knows of something.

I’ve never heard that opening the hips is not a butterfly. It’s probably just one studios method of teaching.

I hope you feel better soon! There is no time line for progress and we all learn differently 😊 it’s easy to become frustrated and discouraged if we focus only on needing to be at a certain level by a certain time. There are many variations that can be done with a shoulder roll. Splitting the legs as you roll over or dropping into a split at the end are a few options! The one shown on IG is a nice variation for beginners. If you are just learning this use a yoga mat to soften the floor.
