As you said our bodies are not meant to take on heavy weight when in the split grip position, it’s not a natural movement for the hands, wrists and forearms, and this is exactly why we need to limit our split grip time, even once you can do them comfortably.
If you have access to a gym or even resistance bands you can still work your back by using an ankle cuff, or any kind of cuff you can find, around your wrists, instead of gripping with your hands! Just be sure you keep the hands open and relaxed and not clenched when lifting or pulling.
Krazykitty, everyone does NOT get tendonitis and it not something you should ignore…. without rest it will only continue to be a problem. Please stop advising member here to use compression sleeves for their injuries. Thank you.

Do not use a compression sleeve unless directed by your dr!!!!!!!!!
Krazy, seems like you injure yourself a lot, I would not say that is a positive thing! If you have tendonitis you need to REST and then condition the wrist, hands, forearms before poling again. Also split grips should be avoided for a while until you have fully healed!

I had ulnar nerve damage!! Back when I first started pole, however it was totally not pole related. I had been sewing and reached back to grab something and wacked the soft spot between the elbow so hard that I damgaged it pretty bad. I couldn’t feel my pinky finger for several days! It took a long time, like a year to stop bothering me. I had a massage and the guy was able to work on it and it really helped, but I didn’t do that until almost 2 years after hurting it. Give it time!!!!

🌈 I start every back bending session with these and while they look super easy, if you do them right, they are very effective! The key is NOT TO USE THE BUTT! Don’t squeeze the Glutes as you lift, focus on keeping them as relaxed as possible. I will get back to theses soon! Our move to a new state was time concoming and then I lost my voice. After that was better, I caught a cold and was coughing for 2 weeks. lol So, I have not fogotten, timing has just been terrible, crazy stuff always seem to get in the way of my plans in Feb and March.

I would not put a hammock on an Iron Gym type bar, just because it could fall down if you angled the wrong way!!! I could see using anything solid though for light yoga and stretching.
