If you’re use to moving through your surroundings visually impaired then learning to pole is still an option for you! This following advice is for anyone learning but could also help you feel more secure.

Always learn what you can, as close as you can to the floor. Know your limits and understand when it’s time to push. Always use a spotter and crash mat. 💜 It may be worth checking out the lessons here, I explain things pretty thoroughly and it might help to be able to play it over and over.

I might do scopes again, no dancing tho, the replay and feedback was not from polers or members so I’ve done more on my fb live.

The nailed it for flow is what I’m working on this month. It’s been tough going, I’ve had issues with my sacrum after having the chicken pox. I think all of the sitting for a month did a number on it. It’s painful and seems to be a genetic issue both my mom and sister have. I’m about to record for the flow program in a few minutes, wish me luck! I did say shoulder mount was next, but how soon will be determined by my back.

July 13, 2016 at 10:04 pm in reply to: Feel silly when trying to be sexy

I’m glad you feel better now, isn’t everyone here awesome!!?

I want to add that if you DO want to work towards your own style of sexy then practice, practice and practice some more! Even sexy pole requires hours of improving flow, movement of the hips and connecting moves. If you’re interested you’ll find a sexy beginner routine to work with here, and a bunch of transitions, floor work and a flowmotion routine that you might find helpful in releasing your inner vixen!

Oh, and the Chair dance section will be helpful too!

I don’t deadlift from any grip right now, my shoulders are not ok with all of the stress. 😊

Love this ⬆️ Reply! I tell everyone when it applies and I make it known that I feel there are 3 aspects to pole , it can be sexual, sporty and artistic!

Yawningcat, you can find all kinds of conditioning and mobility work for the shoulders in the conditioning and the stretching section. The pain is not normal, as in it’s not OK, pain and injury is common. Joint pain isn’t something to ignore.

You need to stop using that grip for a while!!! The TG grip isn’t right for everyone. I hope it feels better soon!

I’m going to assume we’re taking about an ayasha or some kind of twisted or true grip lift. Deadlifting regardless of which grip you choose is very strenuous on the body, it can take years to develop the strength to do these things without risking injury. Even then, it can take a toll on the body. If you feel sharpe pain, (muscle soreness a day after is normal) sudden, stabbing, numbness or tingling means something isn’t right. If you’re feeling pain while going through the motion that’s a big red flag to stop. Don’t continue to deadlift for now, it might be a good idea to rest for a few days, then work on conditioning for the shoulders and focus on other strength based work, THEN slow see if your body will allow you to work on them again.
