Ooh! Do you rub the pole with unlit tea light or your hands, or do you light it and use hot melted wax on hands?

Endorsing what Veena and Chem said; brilliant tips. Another little tip – when using split grip or brackets upright and aerial, (for example when doing air walks ) I was taught to grip pole with knees, place top hand and then bottom and lower gently into position rather than dropping into the hold which is a huge stress on low forearm and wrist. Same applies when exiting move – catch pole with knees and clamp, then lift up gently and release bottom arm to avoid straining.

Lol quite a few vids here of me poling in my husband’s black M&S cotton trunks – rolled down at waist they’re SO comfy.

Drops yesssssss! Jade drop is especially impressive.
Also no arm leg switches into flower spin (on spin) seem to get the ooh aah wows going.
And drama drama movement – musicality, pausing, tension building, changing tempo, little touches like a shoulder shrug and head toss finishing off a body roll – rather than just bashing through a series of technical tricks flawlessly and gymnastically.

Everyone has their preferences though, I am a sucker for the dancing but others are agog at power moves and high speed spinning..

I noticed you have the wrong hand high in your video so I left a comment about that. Pole on your right = right hand on top, pole in right armpit, squeeze right bicep…

Also think about angles – if you’re not straight side on to the pole for example, some poses will have your arms or legs foreshortened, or even cut off your head! A photographer who knows the poses will watch for this but if you mount the pole at the wrong angle you will have to get off and start again! (On static)

see this plank in which I am the headless pole dancer lol? If I’d been straight side on it would have worked!

How about looking through the Veena gallery for things you can do, then double checking the moves on Pinterest and google images for alternative angles, different lighting etc.

It’s amazing how something like an elbow stand leaning against pole looks quite different silhouetted, different again in heels, with one leg bent, or how a simple plank looks amazing with toes pointed hard, dead straight legs, chest lifted and head thrown back. Using a fan or wind machine or going black/white adds drama.

    Veena gallery https://www.studioveena.com/galleries

Poses that you can hold in full extension, pointing toes, breathing normally, with lines that extend out to the sides/ corners of the pic tend to work better than ones you’re struggling to hold and can’t extend in.

I saw that advertorial and was really moved and impressed by it. It’s the flipping opposite if all those ‘secrets of amazing abs’ nonsense that pops up everywhere; have the clowns at FB actually looked at it???

I have had one lesson only! My initial feedback is that they’re huge fun but by no means for beginners. You need not only serious forearm strength and shoulder girdle/core control but also confidence and innate pre-learned awareness of how to control your body moving around/climbing/inverting/pushing/pulling against the pole, and to be able to handle spin pole without difficulty.

So a new exciting complement to pole skills but not a spotter replacement, short cut or beginner activity. That’s just my opinion though and I’m an absolute beginner at pole silks! (Pole level: intermediate-advanced dancer)

Lol. Booty scoot is such a cute name. It has a far ruder name as well, heh heh.
I agree, shoulder presses are KILLAH.
    So effective though.

Aerial V, gemini, pike, jade, hip hold reverse V, Scorpio or Gemini (or switches down pole) until I can handstand out.
Now appearing in every single freestyle I do, ever, lol.
