Congratulations on your decision I’ve been vegan for 6 months now and yes only regret is not turning sooner 🙂 I’ve found Pinterest really useful for awesome recipes, if you want to follow me on there just search Gaynor Rowe, also sign up to one green planet daily email, you get loads of recipe and advice on there, Facebook has great pages too, little vegan kitchen and vegan transitioners are 2 of my favourites 🙂 good luck and welcome to a lifetime of happy healthy eating 🙂

I find it much easier for hand grips especially but leg grips are fine too, I love it so much I’m even contemplating changing my home titanium gold x pole to a liupit pole 🙂

we have had a Lupit pole in our studio for about 2 months now, its awesome, I love the 42mm size and the grip is just as good, if not better than chrome. My pole teacher/studio owner is so impressed with the build quality and ease of putting the pole up that she is now selling them too and she plans to replace all our studio x poles as and when funds become available

I’ve just started taking yoga classes 🙂 I was like you and thought it was a waste of time and money when I could be poling instead but when my lack of flexibility started hindering my pole progress I knew I should do something, I had great intentions of having a good stretching session after every pole workout but never got round to it at home, i was always too hungry/tired/busy etc etc so now I have paid for a block of yoga classes to make sure I go every week, Ive only been going a month but can see improvement already, stick with it and it will help you 🙂

Ive stopped using lotion at all, I do take evening primrose oil capsules though which I find help with any dry skin issues. If I put lotion on I have to really scrub in the shower to remove all traces before poling so I just quit using it

What helps me at home is cool music that I want to dance to and also my pole journal, I have a list of at least 10 moves I want to work on then just literally work down the list, I add new moves as I get taught them in class and then tick off the ones I have nailed so the list is constantly updated (some moves have been on the list quite a while though lol) I browse the internet and my PDC book for new moves too to get me inspired 🙂

January 24, 2014 at 10:17 am in reply to: Help! Itchy rashes after pole (developed recently)

I know you have probably already tried it but just in case you haven’t lol, have you tried taking antihistamines and fish oil supplements, when I first started poling I had rashes on my legs from the pole (I did have small patches of eczema occasionally) I went into the health food shop and that is what they advised….. It is very common to suddenly develop allergies/sensitivities to things you have been in contact with for years, since I have been taking my fish oils and antihistamines I have had no problems 🙂

I have got a martial arts jigsaw mat for my pole, its the same as we use in the studio and my instructor recommended them. I have a 40mm thick one, you just cut a line and hole in it and pop it round the pole. Heres a link, I know it’s UK but it will give you an idea what Im talking about.

im a paleo convert too, I stopped eating bread about a year ago and converted to paleo about 3 months ago. The whole science behind it makes so much sense to me I doubt I will ever go back to eating ‘normally’. I do have a few cheats though as I still have a small amount of cows milk in coffee because having tried all types of other ‘milk’ nothing else quite succeeds in coffee IMO If you are on Facebook there are loads of good paleo sites and groups to join. Good luck and happy, healthy eating xx

my studio replace all their 50mm with 45mm chrome x poles back in May and the grip on all of them is fine, I have a 50mm TG x pole at home and really don’t notice much difference in the grip, I do use mighty grip both at home and in class so maybe this is why I don’t have a problem but have to say noone in class has mentioned poor grip issues on the new poles

December 27, 2013 at 9:59 am in reply to: How much training do you all do per week?

I have two 1 hour classes a week then twice a month we have stretching or pole boot camp classes for an hour too then I try to have two or three 30-45 mins sessions on the pole at home. When I’m on holiday (Im a teacher) its loads more but when Im at work I struggle to fit it all in, especially this time of year with the dark evenings when motivation is somewhat lacking LOL

oooch not nice, I pulled my intercostal muscle a few months ago twisting round the pole while inverted. I took anti inflammatories, pain killers and used those stick on heat pads, it took about 3 weeks to heal and then I was very careful for another few weeks. Im now taking amino acids and magnesium supplements to help muscle repair and, fingers crossed, have had no more problems. Hope yours heals quickly
