ha i hear yea. I’m still figuring out my own sexy O_O I’m not a big dancer so I feel like I have to move like an exotic dancer, or remember girls in music videos. UGH ha well I’m sure I’ll come in time. What I did was get a single guy friend to come over, and I practiced pole and danced a little. And asked him for advice ha, he gave me tips but also made me feel comfortable. But thats just me X_x.

welcome! you’ll have a blast learning to pole!

I use a heating pad to warm up my pole. I’ll try the hair dryer !

i haven’t used my TG xpole enough to see fading. I like it better then chrome cuz I can grip it, plus when friends are over its easy for them. was at a party and they hired a instructor to teach pole dancing, she brought the 50mm chrome, and everyone couldn’t spin https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif cuz it was slippery. So I went with the family idea of TG haha. the only thing I dont like about it other then the color, is that sometimes my hands feel raw and burned. but that could just be poles in general when doing spins. if i ever have the money in the future I want a 45mm chrome one, just to have and practice on.
woot answered my own question, used the 45 chrome agian today and if i do get a 45 of my own… it to will be TG

i bought these at hot topic a month ago. some stores still carry them. plus they have lots of ruffle shorts there!
i should record a vid of me wareing them.http://img.hottopic.com/is/image/HotTopic/276139_hi?wid=700&fmt=jpeg&qlt=85,0&op_sharpen=1&resMode=bicub&op_usm=0.0,0.0,0,0&iccEmbed=0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

MemberDecember 15, 2009 at 11:50 pm in reply to: I LOVE MY TITANIUM GOLD 45MM X POLE!!!Rubber….the difference in static spins on my 45s would be that the TG has more grip and so I get calluses much faster on my TG. I really wouldn’t recommend new dancers to use the TG because, new dancers tend to have a death grip on the pole in the first place, and it is so grippy that it can rip the skin when working on static spins. TG would be great for spinny mode or a more seasoned dancer. TG is good for performing but practicing spins would be painful. So this is from my experience with the 2 finishes so far, and another thing to note is I have dry cold hands, someone with warm sweaty hands may have a different perspective. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_santa.gif
awww ok that would explain my raw hands haha. On my TG pole i would be doing spins over and over and over untill my idenification prints would fade off! hmmm maybe I’ll stay with titanium if i get a 45.

Based on Rubberstarlets pic of the gemini…a few tips that may help any of you.
1. Hips: not only get your hips closer to the pole, but your tummy needs to face more toward the ceiling. You seem to be twisting your hips/torso a bit toward the pole. Belly button should be UP.
2. Back leg: Should be DIRECTLY behind you. This is difficult to figure out when you’re upside down and don’t have someone to guide you but if you’re leg goes at all out to the side (in your case out to your right side) you do not provide opposing pressure.
The weight of your extended back leg provides a counter pressure to pull the hooked knee more firmly onto the pole
Additionally – if you extend that back leg straight out rather than bending the knee you will also create more pressure againts the hooked knee.
3. Hooked knee: as said before, get the toe pointed closer to the floor. Your hooked knee should be turned toward you so that the pole and your knee look like the numeral "4"
4. A bare torso helps to add grip to the pose.
thanks! I’ll practice on that. Just seems my hands slip and I cant do it right now. maybe just practice right now on griping with legs?

haha didn’t want to start a new thread! I seem to be struggling alot, I’ve been on and off the pole, and have yet to progress to advance spins. I’m practicing on cross leg release holds, but haven’t completed it https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif I can do a basic invert but cant hold on for long. I shy when it comes to posting progress vids because I feel I’m not cool enough ha. I have seen others progress so well since i became a member here. And I’m still stuck on fireman spins >_< ughhh I get frustrated to easy!

i need help with this move O_O maybe I’m not strong enough? I do my invert, and it seems like my leg wont bend over the pole. Also I’m holding onto the pole for dear life with my hands! Very rarely it feels like my legs gripping at all. I look at the picture in my profile and I’m trying to figure out what to do
YUP! This is exactly what happens to me! just sort of hang there wondering if I will ever be able to take my hands off..thus… crash mat pondering. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
