I’m so sorry you feelings were hurt, just remember your talking about an industry where implants and a fake tan are practically required. you have to have a super thick skin to work at a place with such a narrow, limited view of what is sexy. too bad they don’t seem to realize how many guys like a woman to be soft and and a little round. we’re women. we’re not suppose to be a mass of hard muscle. it’s important to be healthy and strong, not to fit into jeans that look like they were designed to fit a hanger and not much else. your an amazing inspiration to so many. you were my biggest inspiration for learning the aysha (finally got yesterday). no matter what you decide to do, you have a bunch of friends here right behind you (making nasty faces at manager of club https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_twisted.gif your sexy, and amazing, and talented so it’s THEIR LOSS! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_queen.gif

name-Jenny
age – 29 (going to be flirty 30 in late sept.)
location- Southern Mass. (about an hour south of boston)
stage name – Camila for now, but looking for something thats a little edgier. Camila is a pretty sweet name, but doesnt really fit w my style so am on the hunt for something edgy/exotic (although i’d say i am more edgy than exotic —> https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_twisted.gif more so than —> https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_smurfin.gif
lessons or – mostly self taught by watching vids, advice from people, and just finding new moves by mistake (trying to 1 thing and ending up with a new move instead), but also have accses to Veenas lessons ( although barely ever get to use them as have had to go to my moms house to use internet since end of april)
spin or static – usually static, but also do spinny practice occasionally
shoes – if i am making a vid probably heels or boots, but for the most part i go barefoot
fave move – i love the reverse grab, but would probably have to say shoulder mount into scorpio ( i am a sucker for combo moves)
"day" job- i work 3rd shift in a couple of homes with women with special needs and work part time during the day with an elderly woman.
best feature- i like my blue eyes and long lashes, but my Bf would prob argue my sexiest feature is my ass in his fave pair of panties! men are so bad.. but we love em any way! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_king.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_queen.gif
how into pole? – i had danced on poles on a bar in a club before just messing around, but when found the book "the idiots guide to exotic/pole dance and found out you could put a pole in your house i alomst fell out of my chair! i was sooo excited! ordered a pole right away and the rest is herstory
found veena? – i had seen her on youtube and told her i thought she should teach and was so amazed when she opended studio veena!!!!! yayayayayaya!!!!!!! -
yup, thats it, except you would release your leg from the pole and both legs would be in a chopper/V position over your head. am not worried about strenght as much as balance ( once your leg is no longer around the pole and over your head). i will def give it another try and report back https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_salut.gif
thanks!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif -
omg!! some of those moves were so crazy! i love watching new, uniques things like that. i will def be trying the teddy and a few others, but some of those are wayyyy out of my leauge! thanks for the link (ex-diva)

this is my #1 move i am trying to learn. since i havent gotten it myself yet (although came super close last week) the only thing i can tell you with either forearm or elbow grip is that its a push/pull force that keeps you on the pole. the arm that wraps (either elbow grip or forearm , whichever arm is on top and wrapped is pulling you towards the pole while your bottom extended and locked straight arm is pushing you away. its like taking your hands palms together and pressing with equal force. its the fact that one is pushing in 1 direction while the other is pushing in the other that keeps your hands together and staticand stable. if they both pulled or pushed your hands would move. sorry if this doesnt make sense just trying to get you to see that while one arm pushes you away (bottom arm) the other arm (gripping arm) pulls you in and its the opposing pressure that keeps you from fallign off the pole. its also important to keep your muscles all the way through your body engaged (especially your core muscles as the core is where alot of your balance comes from). hope this was atleast a little helpful. also working on your catipliilars will help w strength and balance needed for the more advanced moves https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

ok i am also in rare form last couple days so ready to have at it here .. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_twisted.gif
i will pick out my own things that i notice and don’t like when reviewing my vids
1)think everyone said this but flexed feet! i was like omg when i saw some of my vids and it looks like my foot is about to plow through someones stomach rather than looking pointed and sexy. i am really bad for that https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_puke_l.gif
2)walking around looking confused and letting it show. just do some filler moves til you can decide what move to do next. so much more attractive than staring into space hoping the answer will suddenly appear in the sky. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_idea.gif
what i dont like that i have seen in other vids or about some fellow polers..
3) having to feel like i have to dowmnplay my accomplishments to make people who are less advanced feel better
(i could literally strangle the breath out of someone when they tell me i’m a "lucky bitch" for landing new moves! it’s like no! your just a lazy B**** and thats why your not progressing AT ALL after over a year w the pole!!!!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_evil.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_exclaim.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif I work hard and don’t give up bc i cant land something right away ( i have been trying aysha and handspring for atleast 6months now but i am hardly about to say i cant do it or hate on people who can. i know i can do it. just not this second and thats ok. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_salut.gif3)exssessive hair tossing. i agree a well timed hair toss or 2 looks great in a video, but when i see you do it 11 times in a 3 min. vid it makes me wonder if you realize your suppouse to be selling me on how sexy and talented you are, your not filming a shampoo commercial… it just makes it look like you dont know how to come up w anything intresting and so your just going to rely on alot of hair flying around. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumbdown.gif
i’m sure theres other things, but unless something really gets under my skin i usuallty barely notice, and am more apt to focus on what i do like, but this was fun to do. especially with my slightly foul mood lately. hope no one took offense to anything. even if you flip your hair 67x in a vid, i will still find things to enjoy about your dancing! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif

ya i tried to do the dove the other day and was amazed by how unflexible my back is! could be bc i have tight hamstrings, but i was sooo far from even being close. will def try some of these stretches! thanks https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif

MemberJuly 22, 2009 at 3:02 pm in reply to: Beauty & Body Care Tips for the Pole Dancerdrinking tea is a great way to get your water intake as well as antioxidants, but decaf has less benefits (same w coffee) and you will absorb more of the antioxidants if you use lemon. you can use an actual lemon or i use these little packs with evaporated lemon or lime juice. putting milk in your tes makes it much harded for your body to absorb the good stuff as well ( i am a health magazine buff for years now)

fish oil and a regular mulit vitamin is what i take.
get enough sleep (good luck. i never do https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif )

be physically active for atleast 20mins a day
induldge in things you enjoy (dancing, at home spa nights, writting, knitting, whatever)

MemberJuly 22, 2009 at 2:52 pm in reply to: Too many health problems – it seems unfair =(I am so sorry to hear you are struggling with health issues. i can relate to the being bounced around from doc to doc while waiting to figure out whats wrong and how unbeliveably frustrating it can be. i had a rash all over my body (except thankfully my face) 3x in 7 months and each time has taken over a month to heal. went from doc, to derm, to clinic, to ER and was FINally told i had porosis due to untreated strep infection. i took pills, used creams, and for the first time in my life went to a tanning bed bc was told it would help shut down my immune system (bc it went into overdrive fighting the strep infection) even though i also went in to have a mole biopsied (my dad had skin cancer and my mole has changed alot lately..never got it done bc didnt have h. insurance at the time..still waiting .. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif ) i STILL have the rash basically everywhere although much much better that the first month or 2 ( started this last time end of april)
my father also. he busted his ass all his life working 2 hard labor jobs and finally at 63 retired thinking for the first time in his life he was going to enjoy life ( he had it very very hard growing up and throughout his adult life ) only to come down with a myrid of serious health issues. ( he was just about blind for awhile..and lives alone on 3rd floor.. skin cancer, glaucoma, lymphoma, deep vein thumbrosis (blood clot that can travel from leg to lung and kill you almost instanly) ect. it really breaks my heart that he never got to travel or have fun and now his health had declined so much. i didnt want to try and make this about my or my fam, just wanted to let you know your not alone, we are all here to give you love and support, you don’t need heartless people as friends (esp when you have such amazing, big hearted people right here) and i am personally here anytime if you want to /need to vent or talk. if you want my email address just send me a request through the site. hope your being strong as you can be and when my mom goes to a gospel fest at the beach sat. i will have her pray for you and ask the others to do the same. ( it has been proven scientifically people who are prayed for, even if they don’t know they are being prayed for heal faster, and regain health more quickly than those who do not. can’t remember where read that, but wish i could https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif ) HUGS!!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif -
i went to the park the other day and waited almost an hour and half to go on the pole ( even though that was my main reason for going) bc there were kids around and even though i had on shorts/tank top and flip flops ( not too sexy ) and wasnt planning on grinding or doing anything even a little sexual, i still felt weird so i just waited. just curious what do people think of poling at the park/in public if kids are around? i know some of you are moms so how would you feel if your kids were on the playground and a stranger started doing inverts and spins on a pole? i know outright i wouldnt have been doing anything wrong or weird, just didnt want parents/kids to feel uncomfortable… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif

although i have been able to do both these moves for awhile, i still cant doa handstand dismount ( i just sit back up on the pole) my hands go flat on the floor, but i feel like i am just going to fall on my head when try to release w legs. would really appreciate any tips. ( i can sometimes go into an armstand) thanks!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

lol ya i am still amazed i can actually do a split ( w left leg in front only and still cant get a good split when doing jade..sooner or later! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cool.gif ) i tried the rubber pencil once w spotter (bf) but really felt like i was going to just fll off the pole. will try working on pencil like was suggested. thanks! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif
