Pole has changed my life by helping me accept my height,I always felt insecure bc of it,I’m 5′ 3/4″,always envied taller n much taller women n felt that they had it better than me bc of that, pole has made me appreciate my height by making me realize that height is not at all req to spin n spec climb high altitudes n that being tall can actually hinder that,so thank you pole for making me feel ok about being a shortie ☺

@desiree lust,oh man you hit it right on the head,I’ve worked in the clubs 12yrs ago,I left n hadn’t looked back since,I pole for exercise n fun n not for money so I’ve come to terms w my past n pole but yeah if I were to do it again I’d do it only if I didn’t have to hustle offstage for money n I could earn all of that cash strictly onstage n not had to pay any of that to the bosses or deal w grubby customers n yep keep my clothes on

You may be a pole dancer if you go into your friend’s house or into a customer’s fashion design studio and think “ooh, high ceilings=pole=amazing spins, tricks, awesome dancing n wide floors n space mean incredible floor work”

Hmm…where do I start for me?i used to work in the clubs so I forever like pole for that reason, stopped for yrs,had a health scare and basically got my health in check, pole reignited for me a love of dance and love of striptease dance,it opened my eyes to new creative possibilities, and it made me appreciate my lack of height being that pole is not specific to only those who are 5′ 7″ and over

Ooh I have one,”you’d love to do some street poling on a lamp post, pole, etc…but realize that the weather is just not warm enough to do that yet,so you just do some dance moves on it,walk away from it and visualize when you will be able to do an invert on them

I feel the same way in terms of class size for pole dancing,I used to take an open level class that had an upwards of 30 students,I learned only as much as I could but was always frustrated that I didn’t advance further and that was why,I was sharing poles with five others and was afraid to try anything advanced because I didn’t have the instructor’s attn.it took me two plus yrs to finally just leave and go to a studio where the levels are more broken down and class size tops out at 12 the most and usually average under ten

@englann86,thank you for posting youtube link to this video,i loved it,very rare to see pole dancing in music videos nowadays, even rarer to see music videos to begin with, makes me long for the days when music videos were relevant and when pole dancing used to be featured regularly on hip hop videos.

Have the same prob, inverts ok,hand/headstands,ok too,but cross ankle/release scares me,I’m trying to figure out ways to get over it,I’m at a loss, besides crash mats,is there a psychological way of getting over that fear?
