for freestyle I look for song that just makes me want to move. If I'm going to Choreo (which is very rare) I look for songs that seem to suit moves I want to showcase. I'm much more a freestyler then a choreo girl

oh I have dry skin AND I don't sweat hardly ever. It has to be really really hot for me to sweat in the body and even hotter for my hands to sweat. All these years of poling, I think I have sweat while poling a half a dozen times.

hand size does make a huge difference. I have recently aquired a 45mm and have cut my own fingers with my fingernails because I'm not used to my fingers overlapping my pole. Touching around the 50 yes, but not overlapping. I wish it were easier to grip the 45 with my legs though, because for teaching for hours on end, my shoulders are loving the 45. My thighs hate it.

Iron x. V leg teddy (I love one arm hold variations just not the actual "teddy" do it with pinup legs or piked legs love it), janero, flag.

I love the back hook nothing like flying it down to the ground ending up totally flat with legs bent back then bringing legs out from under you to bridge grind.

its much smaller then the xpole vaulted mount. Although I have wood screwed into my ceiling under the mount because the screw ate through my ceiling a few months after I installed it.

I'd be interested in feeling the grip of it, since Veena and I both have dry skin. I have always found powder coat to be slippery as all get out. Worse even then stainless steel which was my nemesis. But I have weird grip issues. I still have a vaulted lil mynx mount in my ceiling, sold my  stainless Mynx awhile back.

I have very dry skin and me and stainless is HORRIBLE. I almost quit pole several times because of just slipping down stainless. I could basically pole from June-Aug when it was humid, the rest of the year forget it and only if in the summer I turned the air way down.

  • I'm actually sort of squealing in delight that the brass might be different now then when it first came out. I love a brass pole. Now I might have to order that as my next pole for my "center studio" pole on Monday….

lol looking at these all I can think about is wearing my 8 inchers for the first time and trying to go to the restroom was a major feat because of how low you had to squat. In 10 inches? I might never be able to get down there and if I did I don't think I could get back up!

That said, the shoe ho in me wants a pair.

I have been on a 40mm and would never buy one personally. Too small for my hands and for my legs. Didn't like it at all. But my fingers touch around a 50mm. I have a hammock and a fly gym. I would never use the hammock for help with pole moves, not enough stretch to it. But it really boils down to personal preference.  I just need to learn to do more with my fly gym.

I don't know of any in that area, I'm on the East Side of Louisville and own/run Polesque that Sparrow mentioned. A bit closer is Modern Day Fitness in Downtown Louisville. But even that is about 2.5 hours…

because for years I went by Nymphdancer or Nymphadora on pole forums. My stage name is now different. She has her own facebook page and my one that most of my pole friends are on (with some crossover) is my real name. My youtube account hasn't ever been used lol

mine generally don't go after my pole shorts, but they do go after my underwear…I have a small garbage can with a flip lid in the master bath that they go in so the dogs (actually it seems to just be the female one) can't get them.

this is freaking killing me because I'm working on a perfect routine for this right now. And I hate missing a chance to be with everyone. But in this case I really do need to put my mom hat on. I look forward to seeing vids of the performances though!

thanks Charley, I know I have seen it mentioned that others do it as well and some do evaluations from video. Not something that I'm looking to do myself as in charge people for skype lessons but would consider doing for myself since I'm still pretty isolated out here.

ok I have to restate that. I won't say they were total crap. I just wasn't happy with the way they turned out.

I don't compete. Never will. But my only live audience pole performance I haven't felt like it was crap was down in FL this year with a live band.

my first performance which was at one of Charley's shows and it totally sucked except one hat toss at the begining.

"Someone was supposed to clean the poles properly. Obviously, that was not done"

I don't agree with this statement. I was there and poles were cleaned very well and all of us as polers know how heat/cold of pole or sweaty vs dry skin can effect the poles as well and that has nothing to do with the cleaning of the poles. The room was cold. with my uber dry skin I would never have been able to get a grip on the poles. They were keeping the room as cold as they could so the performers wouldn't get sweaty hands but that is a nerves thing too.

Glitter did wonderfully though she smiled through the whole thing I was biting my nails because I had seen Video of her routine before the comp and knew it wasn't going the way she had planned. She improvised very well and never let it show that it wasn't what she had planned to do. For that alone she totally rocks!

your adorably curvy, but compared to the Italian girl booty I carry around…  I like the shorts I got from zweet for teaching. I should have got a pair of the skirted ones from Vertical Edge. I have a pair of the skulls from Alethea but those will be reserved for audiences that can tolerate half my butt hanging out….
