This is actually the pole that Gravity plays favorites started with. It started to bend and warp pretty quickly and they had to have a welder re-do the whole thing. I also believe this is the one that a friend had the pole break on.

  • Michelle Mynx. She makes me feel like I can do anything, and has made me do things I never thought possible (quit giggling Chem) Alethea. I go to her camps, she always shows “levels” of things so I might not be able to do the devils point shuffle but I can do part of it. Sarah Jade is awesome about that too. She started with easy versions and made it harder. She got me into a meat hook and a machine gun which I thought no the hell way. I would say those are my three favorites. I loved workshops with many others as well, Cleo, Karol Helms, and some others. Did a private with Becca Butcher that was awesome. The only workshop I felt was a waste of my time was one with Porsche. It was supposed to be a Choreo class about character development. That was about 10 minutes. Then it went into a super hard routine Assuie style. 3 of us ended up giving up.

I teach pole anywhere from 11-20 hours a week depending on how many parties/private lessons are booked. I teach one chair class a week. I try to do a Jillian 30 shred workout 4 times a week.

sigh, I wish I could go with boy cut underwear, but my butt eats them. Of course most of the time it eats my shorts too.

January 13, 2014 at 3:28 pm in reply to: spinning pole or regular? pole doesn’t require ceiling fixings.

this right here tells me all I need to know about this pole. from the reviews:

I already had a 50mm X-Pert Xpole but wanted to get a 45mm for better hand grip. I love X-pole but didn’t want to spend the money for one. So I purchased this knowing it was cheaper and probably wouldn’t compare to x-pole but didn’t realize it would be this bad. Package arrived intact and pretty fast but this pole is very cheaply built. Since i already owned a high quality pole, this was noticeably cheap. when the pole is on static mode, I have to pretty much go one way doing spins etc ( to the right).. so i don’t loosen the pole ( it works by tightening to your floor and ceiling). Yes, it comes undone… The pole is warped in the middle and makes it feel unsecure and bendy, like it’s going to break. I only weigh 120 lbs have had it for about 2-3 weeks and this thing is already feeling like it’s going to fall apart. It sucks in my opinion but so far it works but as soon as I can, I will be purchasing another x-pole. If you have never used a professional pole and this is all you’ve used, it might seem like it’s a good pole but i can tell you from using the 2 other poles i have, the ones ive used at the studio, and a friends, this is crap. Save an extra $150 on top of this price and purchase a better quality pole. It’s worth it.

Save your money for an xpole.

xpole makes several finishes, one might work better for you over another. I can’t do stainless, its the slippery for me. Chrome is better, Titanum gold better still and brass best.

if you like the sweetvixen rompers you can also look for monokini’s . They are bathing suits with the sides cut out. Sadly they look silly on me since I’m so short waisted the fabric on the belly sags. But then again I don’t mind my curves showing, I’ve learned to embrace them!

I actually have no special move related goals. My goal is to just improve overall. smoother, stronger, better. More flow. More connected dance. More flexi.

Oh and to hit all 4 of Alethea’s 2014 pole camps. I already did both of the 2013 ones, and performed in the first ever Showcase.

we have the poledanzer “defected” brass in our studio (which were ordered and installed almost 2 years ago) no problems. There are small imperfections but they do not effect use.

Sorry Luvlee I will never try a pair of Mika. I just can’t afford them number 1, and number 2 I have looked at them when they are at the Mid west pole comp and the largest size STILL wouldn’t cover my butt and would end up getting eaten by my butt. Don’t get me wrong I love my butt. I try for beginner’s classes to wear my longest shorts. They go several inches down my legs. By the end of class they are booty shorts. But my website shows me in sexy clothes and high heels.

There is NO such thing as full coverage shorts for my butt. I wear yoga shorts. They always end up creeping up my butt.

All my favorite teachers teach in tiny shorts, bikini tops, or panties and bra’s. Alethea, Cleo, Michelle Mynx to name a few.

your sort of comparing apples and oranges. Jamilla’s are mostly spins and tricks. Alethea’s are either focused on splits, stretching, or floorwork. I have Jamilla’s and Alethea’s and I love them both for different reasons.

I find 40’s painful, but I have large hands so I cut my fingers with my nails on a 40. But I did that when I first got my 45 too. My fingers touch around a 50.

Because of teaching so many hours every day I pretty much stopped wearing mine. I told hubby for my b’day I want a heavy gold chain, choker length to put them on so I can wear them all the time again.

Never saw this post originally, yes I have one. I got it at midwest over a year ago and I love it, and wish I had more time to do things with it. When I went to Alethea's first pole camp I took a lesson there and was shown so many awesome stretches.

WTH??? Not sure where my post went lol

I do protein shakes. Sometimes on the way to the studio, sometimes after coming home. Mine is mostly to make up for my whacky schedule and eating habits. Its actually a fairly new thing for me, mostly because of my whack schedule. I'd much rather down a protein shake at 10pm after teaching then eat a heavy meal. I use Arbonne's powders or premixed. One of the few I have found that I can deal with the taste and isn't full of a ton of whacky crap. Its Pea protein, my body doesn't like whey, and soy is not something I can have because of my Thyroid.

And I just have to say this because its a pet peeve of mine. Someone said muscle weighs more then fat. No it does not. A pound of muscle and a pound of fat weigh just that, a pound. However a pound of muscle is denser and more compact so a pound of muscle takes up less space then a pound of fat. So you might not be losing fat but as you gain muscle you will lose inches.
