This may be the grossest suggestion yet… worms.

Not exactly sure how it works, but I have heard that if you have a massive worm (tapeworm I think) in your stomach, you never feel full, eat heaps, but still lose weight (sounds kind of great doesn’t it except for the worm part haha)

Binging is also a disorder (just like anorexia or bulimia) so if you feel like you have a compulsion or emotional need to eat it might be worth checking that out too, however it doesn’t sound like it in this case!

Best of luck, let me know if its a worm!!

I think men in general have a tendency to become possessive about their girls, and they absolutely lose it when they think about other guys seeing their girl being ‘sexual’. On top of that they also want to be the centre of your universe all the time (even if you are often number three or so in a long line of their priorities).

So standing up for yourself is a must!! And I’m so happy you did!

My boyfriend resents the time I spend instructing and practicing, but after many lenghty talks he also understands how important it is to me. I guess its hard when you are in a relationship and your man sees you become so enthusiastic over something that has absolutely nothing to do with them. But good communication can usually help overcome this!

Recently my boyfriend lost it at me after I came home after a performance in a strip club. I don’t personally care where I get to perform, as long as I can be a part of a performance troupe.

For me dancing in a strip club is showing the ‘other’ side of pole dancing, and when you are dancing in a strip club, wearing an outfit as opposed to nude, doing crazy tricks as opposed to floorwork, this point comes accross even more clearly.

He on the other hand was picturing something incredibly sleazy. So with a bit of help from one of my girlfriends I managed to get him to come along the same performance the next night, and it was music to my ears to hear him say ‘well… I guess you were right. When you see it in context it doesn’t look so bad after all’

But I know the battle is still ongoing… and really it is about so much more than pole. It is about trust and respecting another person, selflessness and caring enough about each others happiness to put your own jealousies and fears aside.

I would rather he follow his dreams and be happy, even if that meant him leaving me, than ever hold him back. And hopefully he can learn to feel that way too one day and then neither of us will have to hold the other back!

    Anyway stay strong ladies!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_salut.gif

I think IKEA has little square mirrors that you mount on the wall and you can put up as many as you want so that the whole wall is covered if you want!

    Hi Azriel https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

I did do that, but I can still see my vid on the platform when I click on it it plays, but I don’t know if anyone else can see it. If its just me its all good!

Webmaster – thank you! But its no big deal, I’m not too fussed if its up, just more out of curiosity how to do it. But if I do ever accidentally post anything horrendous I’ll be on the email in no time!!

    My wish:

That you can write more than one comment at a time without having to reload the video, I like to be able to reply to all comments that people have left on my video at one time.

Thanks!!! And thanks for all the work you put into the website, it is much appreciated to have a place like this to share pole-love with other polers!!

    Hello!!

A lot of the girls I pole with have larger upper arms and slightly manly looking arms and shoulders – and I’m on my way as well! At the moment I’m still pretty psyched to have muscles, it makes me feel emotionally stronger and tougher for some reason https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

The girls I pole with complain about it too, but at the end of the day I think that perhaps this is just a small sacrifice. In return we get the ability to do jaw-dropping tricks, express our sexiness through dance, feel fit, and, when we hit our 70+ years we will have a significantly decreased risk of osteoperosis.

So count the bulky arms as a blessing, its so worth it!! Also I think many of the girls in national/world comps are often just as muscly and ‘manly’, its just that they look so damn good on the pole you don’t ever think about it!

At the end of the day your body will thank you, and personally I love the look of a girl with some muscle bulk!! We’re STRONG and I LOVE IT!!!

Ok that problem solved itself LOL

And this problem might too… but just in case…

How do I DELETE a vid from the viewing platform? I’ve deleted it in my account but it still plays on the platform. I have a feeling this will also just sort itself out, but if anybody knows anything specific you are meant to do, tell me!!

    Schpanks!!

A lot of people find the 45 easier becauase it is smaller to grip, and that tends to be the diameter used in competeitions, however for some moves the 50 hurts less, and if you are small it can be easier to do laybacks and stuff on a larger pole.

But I personally think it is better to learn and practice on a 50 because it is always easier to go from a 50 to a 45, but it you buy a 45 then when you try and show off on a 50 you might find it really hard!!

    So YAY for 50mm!

excercise is the best therapy – at least one billion times better than meds. I was put on meds from a psychiatrist and I could just kill that douche-bag, he didn’t listen to what was wrong he just said that I had to take these disgusting anti-psychotics – BLAH. Made me feel like I just didn’t give a crap about anything around me and most of the time I was to tired and zoned out to feel even apathy.

But – when I was poledancing regularily (before exams etc, i do uni) – everything felt a LOT better (not like nothing was wrong but not as bad as before or when I took the meds) – so basically excercise!!! Its hard to be feel 100% crap when you are sweating and being flooded with endorphins…. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

    Glad ur back!!!!

For me, when I’m unhappy about my body due to an episode of ‘Miss Sex in a Bikini’ or something like that, I always find that art cheers me up.

Specifically old paintings of voluptious nudes https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif Every time I see that I realise that I think they are beautiful and that I really don’t give a damn what the rest of the world is obsessing over. If someone else can’t see the beauty in a lovely soft and round female body, well that is their loss.

Its a shame that we internalise the cultural standards of beauty rather than relying on our own perceptions… But we can change that!!

My kids are used to being on the "cutting edge" as we are in the minority in our conservative town as liberal tree hugging buddhist atheists.

Yay for tree hugging buddhists!! I’m just starting out down that path (or as I have learnt so far its not so much about a journey as about being present in the here an now and truly experiencing life).

But about kids and permanent poles – first off its about health and fitness and FUN so there is nothing wrong with kids getting to see you pole or having a play around like many of the kids of parents here on this site.

With sexy I’m a bit divided – on one side I think that a lot of dancing looks sexy but we don’t stop our kids from watching a rumba or anything… but on the other side blatant sexual dancing is probably best kept for adult eyes only, as they say in the TV show classifications over here – ‘we don’t want to shock the little dears…’ https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif

As for a permanent pole… the Xpole is probably the best option regardless for so many reasons, 1) its the best pole in the world and none will ever beat it, 2) you can leave it up and its pretty much permanent, 3) when your amish relatives come to visit you can take it down temporarily, and 4) its just the best, THE BEST.

God I love my Xpole https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Aw thats so frustrating, happened to me too in the beginning https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif All you have to do is keep holding yourself up with your arms and move the leg that is the most ‘off’ the pole behind it so that the pole is squeezed between your shin of one leg and the calf of the other. You’ll get it!!

Have also used the X-stage, and it is really good and feels secure. The only drawback like Veena said is that floorwork is limited.

Hahaha https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif Wow. People are sooooooooooooo small minded and crazy!! LOL!

Seriously though, its probably a mixture of fear (sexy pole dancing women will steal my husband), jealousy (I don’t feel sexy anymore and these pole dancing biatches know sexy) and a lack of knowledge about what poledancing actually is. Oh well. Lets hope that lady can come along one day and then she can enjoy it instead of hate it!!
