im spoiled b/c thats all ive ever danced on really. Ive tried the xpole which I did like. But the Studio I go to, we use brass. -
Very nice! Are pointe shoes very slippy when climbing? I just might go see if I can find mine. Thanks for sharing!
Not really, I made sure the ribbon was close to my ankle, I most hold w/my calfs and my thighs. Also with the top of my foot exposed that helps as well.

That was an awesome vid minnicoopergrl. Am going to dig my pointe shoes out now. Heels scare me a little so haven’t gone and bought any as yet, so I’m with the barefoot ladies https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif But now armed with my pointe shoes… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif
thanks! That was my last performance of the night and I was so exhuasted but I kept my chin up!

Pointe shoes?? That’s pretty sweet. Do you have any videos? If not you should post one! I’ll watch! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif
yep! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=glGEp7InBx0
Im debating a song for my Dec. video, and one of the songs would really dance well to w/pointe shoes. The song is Snuff by Slipknot, my husband suggested it and im thinking of letting see the video early as a xmas gift before I put it on youtube.
I have to say I stole (or permently borrowed) the idea from a stripper I saw at a bar. She had her pointe shoes, a long romantic tutu and topless. It was for me, pretty.

or we can pin, something silly to our shirts that only SV’rs would recognize. Make it like a where’s waldo kinda thing.
What does everybody think about trying to book a bunch of rooms in the same hotel, try to make it like a huge Veena peep after party. That way we can maximize our time together?
I agree! If someone is doing the group rate on all of it, I can put in my part. I have to clear this all w/the spouse so the kids are taken care of.

MemberDecember 9, 2009 at 6:22 pm in reply to: USPDF March 2010 – Pro and Amateur NationalsI’ve been talking to Winter about going and practicing at that strip club with her before it opens… hopefully they will let me! It’s a 25 foot pole https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
oh yeah! Hustler has 2 of them! Ive got connections at one club (good friend of mine is a bouncer), every time I go I debate on getting on stage just for a hot second and see if anyone would notice. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

MemberDecember 9, 2009 at 6:20 pm in reply to: Final and Official Xmas Pole Jam Threadas much as I want to go to the Pole Jam, a good friend of mine is schedule to be induced that day. Shes doing it all on her own and wanted me to be there for it and delivery as well. Id love to meet up and meet some of you before I drive up to hospital.

I personally do the following…pole (duh), eliptical 2x’s a week for 1 hr each, resistance stretching (no set schedule but as often as i can), lots of calisthenics….If I could get paid to work out I would…I wish I could do it more…if I could I would do it all day! I’m seriously thinking about getting a PT cert just so I can do that as a side job..hehe
I was thinking the same thing too! My husband is a former cert PT, so I always go to him for advice and workout tips. If I ever get around to joining that darn gym, he wants to set up my work outs for me.

like the other ladies said – time to get a new instructor. Every instructor wants to see you succeed in class, even if it takes longer than everyone else. I cant tell you how long it took me to go inverted but my instructors kept working with me until I got it.
I did gymnastics/cheerleading as a kid. I still cant backhandspring. The fear of falling on your head is very common, I have it when im on the pole. Its a fear you just have to get over.
Id do yoga or pilates. Like everyone else said, having that awareness w/your body is going to help with getting some of those things down.
I would love to do a handstand against the pole but im worried about my legs going to one side and completely missing the pole (thats normally my luck) https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

Welcome to the Site! I also love the positive energy on the board and even w/other pole dancers. We compete against eachother but its good healthy competition. Its nice break from the real world like you said.
-
I wear heels, pointe shoes, and do go barefoot. I like to change it up all the time. I have just now gotten shoes w/the skinner heel. Ive always been afraid of the breaking when I wear them b/c of my size. I love putting on my pointe shoes and doing stuff on pointe. But you can still be amazing in barefeet!

not to my knowledge about the cameras w/sd cards. Im still very old school and use hi8mm film. But I would look around and play with the ones they have out (thats what they are there for!). Im unsure how long my battery life is in my JVC considering I only use it for about 10min max for videos. I guess I should use it more often esp w/the kids https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
-
shhhhhh *whispers* I also got wind that they are coming out with a vaulted ceiling adapter and possibly a 45mm x-stage….shhhhhh https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
I think that has made my day! do you have a date possibly for that?

dont worry I boycotted football this year, im all on hockey this season. I love my Caps and my mad crush on Alex Ovechkin (just see my profile pic on FB).
-
the only thing im praying for now is a crappy record to get 1st pick in the draft – Come on Tebow! I figured my sons name would give away who my team is (ok, more like fan by default but still), hes named after John Riggins from the early 80’s.
Ill keep the Cowboy bashing down to a minium https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

I love my mac! I have an older one (ibook clamshell edition) and it runs just as good as my pc. I havent been able to use Imovie yet but when I upgrade to a new mac, ill be playing w/it.
Also ask about what cords you will need for your camera while your there. I had to buy a few more pieces for the camcorder to upload to the computer.
-
I have the ondemand, ive been using that to try new things. Ive got a yoga, pilates, ballet training and Yoga Booty Ballet DVD’s. Thats how I disovered the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders have thier own workout video. (eeewwww, im a Redskins fan, but im willing to do thier work outs!)
Ive got no problem working out at home but due to the space of our home, I have to wait until the kids go to bed. Im also creeped out when my husband watches me workout. So I either make him get out of the house or go in the other room.
I also thought about heading to the local indoor pool and swimming laps for a bit. I lost alot of weight when I was swimming.

it could be a few things, you may have the camera in manual focus and somehow playing w/the knobs it went out of focus. Or the resolution of what you see on the screen or the resolution of the camera.
Oh my! My TV nerdness is coming out!
-
I use a JVC camcorder. my IL’s got it for us as an xmas present and ive been using it mostly for videos. Its pretty basic but definitley more advanced than a flip camera. The flip camera is very easy to use and upload from what ive heard. I have a degree in TV production so im kinda picky in what im looking for in a camcorder.
for me I prefer to do mine in wide screen and manual adjust the focus. I also like a view finder than a lcd display screen.
Id go to best buy, target, walmart etc and play w/the cameras that your interested in. Thats the only way your going to know what you like.

I guess its wrapping it up in a big bow and giving it to me for Xmas!!!!
