the past few times its been in NY, im going based on assumtions thats where they will hold the championships.

Im debating on not only going but entering as well. Im always someone who says ive got nothing to lose by applying but im just have that internal fear that I wont be good enough for USPDF for awhile.

Once a location is set up, ill look at transportation, lodging etc and go from there!

December 9, 2010 at 3:31 pm in reply to: Eyeliner Tips

    My tips for doing eyeliner:

    1. DONT PULL YOUR EYELID TO GET A SOLID LINE – this over time will cause your eyelid to start sagging and you have to start using firming eye cream to get it back. To help with that, sit on your hand that isnt applying the eyeliner.

    2. Apply the eyeliner in small strokes instead of one long line. Over time and you get more confident with applying, you can do longer strokes.

    3. my suggestion is to start w/a pencil/soft crayon. Some still make it with pencil some area softer material. Then work your way to liquid. I just not started working with liquid and love the look of it.

Alot of the strippers really dont do the tricks, inverts etc. They do alot of floor work and basic moves on poles. I also look at what there wear and the shoes as well to get ideas. Thats where I saw the idea to dance en pointe. There are a few girls that did trick and are my faves (yep, thats how often I go, I have my fav strippers!).

I go not only with my friends but with just my husband as well. My husband loves when we both go since im the one who gets all the love from the strippers. Last time I bought all the drinks and his lapdance. He gets all ‘worked up’ from being there but he comes home w/me and I take care of it https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif

you go to the strip club with your man and you wonder what finish they have on the pole and you check out the shoes insted of thier skills!

One dancer had the gun shoes that I wanted and I told my husband and he just shook his head at me.

Empy, I just started becoming a Sephora shopper too. OMG, in 3 weeks ive spent over $100! Granted on part of it was a birthday gift for my mom. Im also a Beauty Insider so I get coupons and get the points too! I am now addicted, and must sell all my old MK product I still have in stock to get more Sephora stuff! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

I havent bought new makeup in a couple of years. I have just about everything from MK but I still love to go the store and buy new makeup. I just got some bare minerals smoky eye kit – I am in love!!!

I also stopped on You Tube, but did you know you can set the comments to be looked at by you before they post??? I HIGHLY recommend doing that. That way, if there is negativity, you can delete it before anyone sees it and the person trying to start trouble will go elsewhere.

Thats what I did. I now laugh at the negitive comments. I do b/c theres alot of polers who didnt know who I was unless it was for YT. I know alot of women who come to our studio come b/c they saw me on YT. So im free press for the studio.

Lulu – its gotta a funny story to it. As a kid I HATED being called Lulu. I guess all those years of my mom correcting everyone saying thats not my name takes a toll. My real name is LuAyne (Lu-anne, the Y throws everyone off!) and since no one spells or pronounces it correctly – ive gotten faxes after telling them how to spell my name as Lee Ann and I get Lillian for some reason, its just much easier to go by Lulu.

When I competed in my first competition, my friend decided she wanted to make shirts to show support. So we had a Team Lulu cheering section. Once I posted to YT, I decided to stick with Lulu as a performing name.

If your friends with me on FB, you will see that some folks call me Lu. Thats actually what most of my co workers call me and alot of my close and personal friends. Personally, I dont care what you call me – whatevers comfortable with you!

STL, I have to say – it is much harder to make friends as an ADULT than as a child/teen. This is a lesson that was hard for me to learn.

Ive lived in the same area my whole life (my parents and IL are maybe 10min away). I still talk to alot of my friends from HS but thats it. I dont hang out, go for drinks, take our kids to the park etc. I think part of it is my fault as well. I have a bad habit of not inviting people over or asking people to do stuff with me, im either stood up or my husband gets in the way of my plans. Ive met alot of friends thanks to pole. When I take class its normally "Lulu’s socialization Hour", and I end up coming home later than expected. I consider everyone on here my friend as well even if we have never met face to face. When you open up to someone about personal things and you are able to confide in them – that makes them a friend.

As for coworker friends, I have one co worker that im actually friends with outside of work. We go to each others kids birthday parties, he goes to the shooting range with my husband etc. Works out well b/c it gave my husband a friend to talk to (hes got maybe 3 friends he talks to on a regular basis. He rather have a small social circle than have lots of aquaintences). It took a year of working here to actually be friends outside of work with him. Most of the folks at the dealer do happy hour at one of the local restruants, I dont get invited simply b/c I get off at 3p – hours before anyone else and with my husband working late 90% of the time – it makes it hard.

My advice is to go to classes, and pick up hobbies you havent done in awhile or want to try. Thats the best way to meet new people, you already have something in common to start with.

    i also have a suggestion!
    how about:
"Dance to the theme music of a television show"

    for example:
twin peaks, a-team, charles in charge, law and order, aqua teen hunger force… etc

all I could think of when I read ATHF "Number one in da hood G!" I love that show! The movie made no sense whatsoever, yet I own it

I love the TV them idea too! Ive got a few up my sleeve.

If you watch and episode of Holmes on Homes with your partner, and as they are installing a support pole all you can think is if you could pole it or not!

I kept thinking – thats too close to a wall to do anything! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

November 23, 2010 at 2:19 am in reply to: Music on Youtube

when they are uploading your video to YT, they are scanning both your audio and video. Just to make sure you didnt steal it from somewhere. If YT catches your audio, they will send you an email telling you who owns that song officially. Its 50/50 if you get to keep your music. If they let it go, thats when the info comes up in the videos where you can buy the song. Sometimes they will mute your audio. There are many videos that show you how to get your audio back. What I also started doing was putting in the info page something about copyrighting not intended. Ive seen alot of folks starting to do that now.

    HTH!
