im a wench at medieval times so i have to walk an average of 4 miles a night up and down stairs carrying 40+lbs of food/dishes, so if im too sore to do that im SOL on making money to pay the bills. but right now my legs are all bruised to hell still, and you will get bruises every time you learn a new move, for the first few weeks i was getting bruises on the top of my feet cause i was doing alot of fireman spins lol, now my legs are bruised cause im doing more climbing, but i never get bruises on my feet anymore.

Not trying to hijack this thread but do you work at the one near me???? Youve probably seen me a few times if you do, I go Arundel Mills alot. Be awesome to spot me in public + go "OMG its Minicoopergrl!" https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

You will get abs, Im pretty sure of it. I only have 2 kids but ive seen a difference in my abs and ive had 2 csections. Lots of women who have had no previous dance experience or even fitness background has progressed amazingly doing pole. I played sports my whole life and pole still beats the life out of me.

I remove my rings when I pole, I havent danced w/my rings on in a few years. Its just out of habit for me. I dont wear any jewlery when I pole.

Good luck on your pole journey!

OMG…just saw that Denis Leary is going to be in town. Not sure who is sexier to me, him or Jason Statham.

Something about that bad boy look (plus Jason has pole skills….how can you not like a man for that??

OMG I would hit that 9 ways from Sunday! I have a very huge crush on Statham. OMG, Transporter, The Italian Job (if only he came in the MINI when I bought mine *drool*), Chaos. Ive seen most of his movies. I think I may have to steal this pic Chem!

Oooh really? Is being tall a slight disadvantage?

I only ask because I am a bit worried about how I look pole dancing because of my height, I’m tiny, like under 5 feet, I really am a fairy in that respect! :p But I was worried because all the great dancers I see seem to have legs that go on forever and they look so cool on the pole. Does height really make a difference?

    (say it isn’t so! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif )

dont worry about it, Im 5’4 and curvy as anything and I can still pole just as good as everyone else. I always say make you disadvantages your advantages. You could be Tinkerbell on the pole!

how much do these tickets cost? i’m confused by the price section on the website…

Depends on how much of the convention you want to attend. Im thinking might as well get the everything package so I dont miss a thing all weekend. I think its $105, then there are workshops. Im hoping my kids will get one for me for mothers day! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_queen.gif

its always been hot in our pole studio during the summer. I really think its a combo of the weather, small space and lots of bodies = pole sauna! When its super hot outside the pole room is roasting, wierd thing is where on the bottom level. Weve got 2 fans in there as well.

The girls have talked to the HVAC guy and he says everything is running correctly. I think summer is the season I need to stock up on dry hands.

    UH HUH. WHOOPIN TOUR.

The 2010 Amcut Whoppin Tour, coming to a home near you! With special guests – foam bat for "homey dont play dat" style and a big dose of ‘STFU and let her pole’. Sponsored by both Xpole and PS. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

My man is a gamer but not a computer gamer, were still on our ps2. He buys the RPG’s (final fantasy crap), but he only plays them when theres nothing on tv and the kids are asleep. Thats maybe once a month for him.

Im tryin to keep the pole chat low with him but its really hard when thats the only hobby you have.

Sometimes I multitasking and pole and cook dinner or pole and bathe kids lol.

Ok Sissy, you are now my new hero! Talk about being the queen of multitasking.

Im all about a fair balance, I see it as if he spends so much time on racing (he will watch everything related to nascar), then I can spend that amount of equal time w/pole related stuff (here, YT, studio, editing my stuff etc).

So I figure if hes watching a max of 3 races every weekend (avg of 3hrs each), qualifiying, practicing, happy hour that comes out to 12-15hrs a week during race season (a season is about 40w I would know I had a pregnancy that was w/in that timeframe as well). Between reading at my lunch break at work, pole/gym for an average week thats about 8-10hrs; when our oldest isnt in school it could be as close as his. So I dont see where the crazy obsession lies. I love hockey but I dont give up my life to watch the game when I can get stats on my phone (unless its an important game like tonight eventhough weve already gotten the Southeast Div done – yep, im a crazy hardcore Washington Caps fan). But sometimes I feel bad b/c I dont get alot of time to watch everyones videos + comment or read blogs from some of you and be able to comment while everyone has time to watch me and see what I do/type.

Pole tricks are kinda like boobs. Some like big ones, some like small ones, some like interestingly shaped ones, some like average ones, but in the end of the day, they’re all boobs and they are all good.

can I use this as my status update on facebook??? I LOVE IT!

To me the teddy is like an areial OBGYN visit, yes it takes some strength but its just odd. I cannot stand non pointed toes. After all my years in dance, gymnastics and cheerleading, its imbeded in me to constantly point my toes.

I love a performer who has that equal mix of amazing tricks, fluid movements and just enough sexiness to keep you locked in for the entire performance. Im all about balance!

Lu, I’d say it’s time to invest in the pole, put it in the living room directly in front of the television (between nascar and the couch) and watch the kids as you pole.

I love your answer! I would of gotten the Xpole for xmas but the MINI came first when we thought it was just the clutch that need to be replaced. Now I have to spend my Uncle Sam cash on the car, give him $ to get tires on his car that im driving and dump the rest into the paying off the house. so hopefully by the begining of summer.

I agree Sissy, its gotta be an insecurity thing, or one of his stupid ego power trips he goes on. As much as id love to have a mediator, he wont go for it. He thinks that ‘why spend $ to see someone just to be told the husband is at fault for all of this’ (again, we need a wallbash smiley). When I go to the gym or pole its always late in the evening after one kid has gone to bed, or im up and gone before they even get up on the weekends. Thats maybe twice during the week and one weekend morning. Dinner is on the table when he gets home, hes got clean laundry and I clean the house – what more does he want from me??? He would much rather me work a part time job then have a hobby outside of the house.

Again, wheres the easy button people!!!

April 5, 2010 at 10:38 am in reply to: Your favorite pole shorts?

I have a few pairs. My first pair I got from Steve and Barrys before they went under. They are a solid black, they are by Venus (or Serena I really dont remember) Williams, from the line Eleven. I guess they were really designed for tennis but Ive love mine. They help slim out my dreaded double csection pouch. They are tight enough not to gape any where. Another pair I have is a pair of simple Under Armour shorts. The band folds down to show the logo but im not that brave to wear them like that. They are a bit loose in the leg but very comofortable. The final pair is a pair I got off of ebay. I guess being a former cheerleader you get kinda acustom to the shorts. I bought a pair of Redskins "cheer" shorts. They are the same style but in black w/the Redskins logo down one side. I love these shorts, just not enough to wear them to the real gym (lol). I like to wear it w/one of my old school ‘Skins tees, I feel like a total cheerleader when I do that.

Ive really wanted to try the Under Armour undies and give them a go. Theres an UA outlet right near me and the full price store in Annapolis.

I have never been to an IKEA actually (shock!horror!) but this place was like a palace – it

dont worry neither have I. I just need an excuse to go.

Ive had Jenyne Butterfly in my dream once. It was in the Be Spun studio (mind you I have NEVER been to the west coast) and I was cheering her on and vice versa. it was crazy.

I still dream about what Pole Convention is gonna be like. thats just madness.

VD is a good one, that ran by KT Coates. Im also in a similar situation. I want to teach but I want to get certified. It would be good to have. Climb and Spin is very intensive but does come at a hefty price tag. From what ive heard alot of folks are getting thier group fitness certifcation and then doing a pole fitness cert.

I dont know if this will help. When I was working on my Pole Princess routine (you can see that vid by going to my profile), I started out in a crucifix hold to start the routine. I would let the song before it play for a good 30sec before the routine song. I basically had to hold myself up there and force my thighs to squeeze together until the music started. After day after day doing that my crucifix looked so much better and I could hold it better. Maybe forcing the squeeze at a regular crucifix will help during the reversal.
