I’ve never tried it but I’ve seen people use a ribbon to make ankle straps. I know there are YouTube tutorials for this. This could be an alternative or a temporary fix while you wait for any straps to arrive after ordering.

At the studio I worked at as an Admin, we had Intro to pole, Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced classes along with Open Pole/Pole Jam non instructed practice sessions. During Intro and Beginner classes, the two stage poles we had were available to reserve by the Open Polers, classes used the floor poles. We also had Pole Jam where ALL of the studio poles were available for reserving non instructed practice time.

I’m LOVING your new program! I’ve been off pole for a couple of years now and feeling very discouraged at how little I can actually still do. My plan is to start working from the “baby” basics and learn how to do things equally on both sides as well as using better form! (Avoiding injuries!!!!) Thank you for all of the work you put into your lessons/website/and being your fabulous self!

Did you try using two wrenches? One to hold the top part still and the other to use on the unlock nut?

We have a couple of X stage lites at the studio that occasionally spin when they are still locked in static mode. The “collar” part somehow loosens and the pole isn’t “set” anymore. We have changed out all the screws (Thank You X POLE for the new screws and the new tools.) What we end up doing is taking the pole out of the stage base completely, and putting it all back together again. This fix lasts anywhere from a few weeks to a month or more. There is no set traceable reason for what loosens the pole’s “collar.”

MemberMay 27, 2015 at 6:41 pm in reply to: Beginners trying advanced moves before they’re readyWe were just talking about this at the studio I go to. We have had to explain to a LOT of people how and why our classes/levels are structured the way they are (Including a person who wanted to become an Instructor after recently moving to the area.) Here is an excerpt from an email we sent out to a potential student who wanted to start off in the advanced classes, “The short answer to your question is for SAFETY and to learn proper form and technique. Our studio’s classes are structured more like gymnastics in which we teach our levels in progression, both to build strength and to reinforce the proper body alignment as well as foot and hand positions. This starts all of our students learning with safer habits, both for the aesthetics, as well as strength training.”

Dollhouse is a good studio.
There is also L.L.H Fitness and Dance studio.
Fun Pole Fitness and Pole Sinsations as well as a studio in El Cajon I believe.
Lol.. I’m “in favor” of LLH cuz that is where I go =] -
I feel the same way, people will always come up with something to complain about, and pole happens to be an attention grabber for that mind set. It gets better “play”
This was my post on my friends page… “lol… I would say I’m shocked by everyones “outrage” in the video… You should see some of the faces when we go to events with the stage poles.. The best part is when you can see their minds being opened up to the possibility that we aren’t “just strippers” and no, I have nothing against people who strip for a living, it’s a tough job.”

My 50th Birthday is also in July =]

I love that you posted this! =]
I had the same feeling a while back listening to people talk about pole. It almost seemed that rather then enlightening people about why they love to do pole. They had to defend it rather then embrace it.
I sort of do like Chem, along the lines of.. I tell people I pole, if they ask about which club I work at, I usually tell them “I wish I had the moves and body to work at a club!” that I do pole cuz I love it. I love how I feel when I nail a move that’s been giving me trouble, or get just a little bit more fluid in transitions and the dancier parts.
I feel that making pole fitness “better” then stripping is like hating your sister. Same parents but they do different things for work and fun.

I’m lucky enough to live near them and even had them come help me with an installation issue (the problem was my location, NOT any manufacturing defect) He actually custom made a piece for me at no additional cost to me.

Our Studio has Coed classes on Fridays. At the moment we have one consistent male student, nobody in the class seems to mind the mix. Here, it seems the personalites, more then the gender, have a stronger influence on classes. We have also opened up the studio in off hours to accomodate some open pole practice sessions for one of our fast track program students whose schedule made the Coed times a challenge.

I bought my home brass pole in the fall of 2007 from PoleDanzer. They recommended Mother's Mag and Aluminum Polish…..soooooo that's what I bought. And it works well =] Yes, it's a bit labor intensive, but it makes SUCH a difference to polish it up as well as help with grip.

I'm in if you need another mobil/desktop user =]

A lot of people just focus on pulling up to the pole into a V. I figured out that if I look past the pole and end up looking at the wall behind me or even the floor I wasn't stopping and dropping.
Like, when you are running a race, you don't run TO the finish line, (you'll slow down to stop AT the finish line) you run with a point beyond the finish line as your goal. lol.. I realized I can make sense telling and showing a person, but not necessarily describing it 😉
