You can be any age, any shape, any level, heels or no heels, and the great pole deity accepts and loves us all. Lol. Too embarrassed to give my age, just a happy pole queen, never poled until faced with the burden of powering through a horrible divorce.

Is this an entire body roll supported by back shoulders and you grab pole in downward cup position? May have seen this. But you need to clarify a little more l think. It may not even have a name, but it doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist, it may have several names. Good luck with that.

Thanks for this post. Sometimes my back feels super strong and flexible, yet other days, the exact opposite. So my new training goal is to work on what feels great and slowly progress on to other things. Ballerina move, l couldn’t do because of back flexibility, or lack of,then l jumped on the pole and surprised myself. It gets down to good workouts and other days just meh workouts, l guess.

This may sound lame, but maybe pick a song, see if the song inspires you to visualize a color, a character, a feeling, then add on to that. Like a costume, a scarf, a prop perhaps. Watch other pole performances to see what you liked and do your interpretation of that idea. Maybe video tape yourself to a possible performance song, then watch your performance and see what you thoughts come to your mind and build on that. Good luck.

Men strip, yet they seem to not be labeled in any derogatory terms. Good old doubled standard here

Sometimes you need to walk away, it makes you only appreciate pole more when you go back. It’s like a bad boyfriend, bruises, dings, red marks. But we keep going back to conquer that pole into submission. Lol. Have a great new year, and may pole bring you a new awareness of your strength.

I went to way advance classes, bootstyle also. Can’t do a cartwheel, can’t do ayiesha (sp). The instructor actually help me flip with a one hand grip on pole doing an advance cartwheel. And l did the other move for a nano second. What did l gain, that l needed to have more upper body strength and l was more motivated to work harder on the pole. So if you need motivation, and it’s worth the money, then go. Otherwise save your money.Hope this helps you out. If the instructor is good, they will usually leave you doing at least one new move, but spotting you. They size up your level pretty fast. Good luck.

I have used a giant plumber wrench, you can put a towel in between to protect, and have used a mallet to hit second wrench to loosen up grip. No man around, had to figure it out myself. It’s clunky, but it works. Wrenches are not cheap. Then purchase those rubber hanners, forgot the name at home depot. 75 dollars or more.

But l have to give credit to Veena’s lessons, and kettlebell. It’s keeping my shoulders really strong. Paul Katami kettlebell DVD. Also l read that our muscles have memory, and your strength will come back fast if you have poling for along time. Good luck.

MemberDecember 30, 2015 at 11:01 pm in reply to: Attracting People New to Pole DanceBeen to several pole studios in LA. Have noticed two pole studios do performances, one in-house, and one at a bar/pub of a theatrical show. The other studio throws pole performance parties, Hallowen, Valentine’s day, etc. The bigger studios advertise on Groupon, etc.to bring new clients in since pole classes are high. Finally, membership deals are very strong at one of the better studios, ex. $169 gives you unlimited pole classes for the month but it must be on a credit card with a three month commitment. To get you in their studio, they have $69 dollars for two weeks of unlimited pole classes. This studio is more like a boot camp studio, classes are tough, and they have many regulars.

BAMBAM It’s great you had the nerve to come out to us here . To perform is a feeling that can’t be matched, be it singing, comedy routine, speaking, etc. But to go on stage, means that you may have issues when you are out in public. So please think carefully about decision. You could always put on a wig, do a beautiful dance and post on YouTube or here. You could save up $ and enter pole competitions , which are growing in popularity. My pole studio actually does performances at a nearby bar which is close too studio. They do a excellent show because one of the teachers has a theatre background. But this is progressive Cali. Once you are performing, you will have a hard time obtaining white collar positions. So l am asking you to look closely at your choice and be aware of consequences. But l support your choice to love yourself and be a excellent pole diva.

Think the fantasy of stripper just follows “pole dance”. This seems deeply rooted in men’s minds. The more we educate and inform people about the beautiful athletic workout of pole, will we slowly bring this to the awareness of everyone. I read 59,000 poles were sold in USA in 2014. It was hard for me to tell my mother. Sent a clip of a class l was in, and that really helped her. It is so nice to embrace my feminine side and feel good about myself. Plus pole help me through divorce. What more can l say.

MemberDecember 27, 2015 at 2:39 am in reply to: New To Pole! Excruciating Thigh Pain?So agree with Tropical Vertical. Coming from a ballet background, l squeeze every muscle l own to do any and all leg grips. Because ballet trains entire leg muscles. So l guess l am saying grab the pole with your legs and squeeze for dear life. And point your toes as much as you can, this actually helps engage all those leg muscles, which can extend right up to your glutes. You may cramp a bit, but you will understand the mechanics of leg grips better. It well get easier. I almost quit pole, l had so much pain from inverts. But half a year later, the pain is gone. Don’t give up pole vixen.

This is scary subject matter. If it isn’t correctly healed, you end up having to get surgery. So it’s best to get a evaluation if needed. This can take quite some time to heal. Please be very careful and consertive when you return back to pole work.

Watched your video for the first time and really enjoyed it. This negative person may have something really horrible going on in her life which she has no control over like an abusive husband or boyfriend, mental health issues, maybe no freedom to take pole class, or even put a pole in her living area. Or she could just be an idiot. I had a negative female stalk me in another state, just a bad obsession once. I would think more about your safety and well-being then letting her remarks upset you. Thank you again for this video and reminding how beautiful and relaxing pole is to watch. Now another supporter of yours.

So grateful to Cleo, this DVD covers a lot, and all the important areas for pole. My shoulders have loosened up with a very simple exercise out of this. A lot is floor based, so no excuse not to do it. Plus it does build back strength. For me, it reminds of some ballet stretches l have done in classes also. Even if l stopped in my lifetime, l would still do this dvd every other day.

MemberNovember 24, 2015 at 11:51 pm in reply to: How to get a PT to train you for dance (or, how to sack your PT)?That’s a big step to tell your PT that you aren’t a fit. And sometimes we stay on the path of least resistance, you can’t tell him the truth, and he continues to be disrespectful on some level, ignoring your nutritional requests. So if being happy is more important, then him go and continue on with what you learned from him. Toxic people sap you of joy and happiness, good luck on your new regime. It’s takes time but eventually things come together just not as fast as we wish. Lol

MemberNovember 23, 2015 at 4:29 am in reply to: Is it ok for your partner/husband/boyfriend to still cherish other women? The bad news, he is not going to change, the good news is that pole is a great workout, and you have the power to leave this relationship if your needs are not being met, like respect, honesty, loyalty, etc. Plus all this money spent at the clubs should be used for a couple’s vacation or a house or condo down. You have a tough choice to make, either way, it will be hard.Good luck to you.

MemberNovember 23, 2015 at 4:18 am in reply to: Can’t disassemble pole…MegaBrandEnded up buying expensive tools and a mallot and got my pole down. Apparently it was tightened without my knowledge. I ended up scratching the pole with the giant wrench, but it did come down. Good luck. Giant wrench on pole, then l used mallot to hammer metal little rod around. Not sure if this will help you.

So happy to hear of your weight loss. I am close to you agewise and have dropped the bad foods and built up upper body strength as a result. Thank you for showing weight loss and pole exercise can be possible at any age. So proud of you.

My girlfriend just suffered the same thing. It’s called a groin pull, and it can take up too a month or more to heal. Best way to warm up those muscles are to sit down frog style with bottom of soles touching. Press gently on top of thighs for groin stretch. Did this religiously in ballet class and never had issues Good luck to you. It took several months for my friend to heal.

MemberSeptember 27, 2015 at 7:06 pm in reply to: Anyone Learning from Studioveena Exclusively?I learn from studios, Dvds, and would like to learn using Studioveena. I think some moves were better done in the studio and am thankful for that. Also was motivated by seeing closely how moves are suppose to look. Yet l have learned some difficult moves at home with no one to spot me. The jade split and shoulder mount. So you need to know your strengths, and stop when tired. I have had way more injuries from studios then on my own. So it seems that either way has pros and cons.
