ooh super cute and would show off my tattoos on my shoulders! i will have to buy this after my bank account replenishes from holiday spending 🙂

I did a competition and actually duct taped myself into my bra because i wanted to be extra sure the girls wouldn't pop out and it worked well and didn't hurt to take off since I was sweating it kinda loosened the tape so I don't recommend it for long term but it will get you through a song. I know it worked because I wore the top without the tape for rehearsing and it popped right off even after I had sewn extra snaps on https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif

I am 25 with no kids and I have stretch marks and cellulite too! I am sure it bothers you more than others and also you will overcome it in a little bit of time. I was self conscious at first to dance in a sports bra but now I do it and don't care. I am of the philosophy that anyone unsupporitve of another dancer for ANY reason is not a real pole dancer. I have had "pole dancers" leave nasty comments on my youtube about cellulite, me being fat etc and I just consider the source. Your classmates/instructors should be supportive and this site doesn't allow any negative comments at all so you should never worry about posting here. Also check out theshapeofamother.com 🙂

I have a few of these and I LOVE them! Especially awesome for business logos or to use on your personal website Rara is great! Images are very professional looking too. Very pleased with all my stuff from her! xo

I read on facebook something about the stage rigging going awry, I think she fell off the pole, I do know she broke her jaw and Joel/Poledancefan had said she is in Canada recouperating. Really can't wait to see the MJ show and I wish her a full and speedy recovery.
I think I am gonna put these on my xmas list 🙂

I am thankful for my 11 year old german shepherd Gingerbread, my family, boyfriend, friends, pole, Veena, this site, shoes, chocolate and beer 🙂

I pole because I was always the weird girl who was different from everyone my whole life and I always got made fun of for that. Even now I have a some large visible tattoos and always stand out from the crowd but I feel like with pole I really fit in and people understand me and my style, but I also feel like pole is the sport for all the other girls who didn't fit in like me, it's the one place we all belong! I think that's why we get along so well and are so supportive of each other. I have made some of my best friends from pole and it has seriously changed my life! For example, I have these shoes that have zombie eyeballs and teeth and when I wear them out I get crazy looks but when I wear them to pole functions literally a dozen people will ask where I got them 🙂

You’re welcome! I don’t use this brand but thought it might be helpful 🙂

I was the chubby girl my entire life who never had boyfriends or anything, not popular, defintely not athletic. So the fact that I can even do pole is amazing to me, I have no formal dance or gymnastics training and started pole with literally no strength…this past August I did a regional pole competition and placed third in my division. I am a former fat girl with no formal instruction and got a trophy for a fitness competition so if that's possible ANYTHING is possible! But I also have a lot to learn still and have been at this for a long time already but seeing how far I can push myself is part of what's kept me going in pole 🙂

I have an iron gym and I love it although my bf is the one that uses it the most, my winter goal is add it to my training so this thread was a good reminder for that, totally worth the $20-25 it costs. Chem the gym I teach at has TRX so I am gonna have to look into doing it!

OK it's not working but if you do a google image search for "Hip flexor stretch foam roller", it's the third photo that comes up. It says "fit sugar" on top of the photo. Veena's lessons have some awesome hip flexor stretches too and I have been making very good progress using her splits routines for front and middles!

I’ll like your page! I just started my own line too! Your jewelry is very pretty 🙂

If you are tight in the hip flexors I do an awesome HF stretch with my foam roller – put it under your tailbone and then lay down and bring one leg to your chest bent. Make sure the leg not bent stays straight and on the ground otherwise you will cheat the stretch. This can be done without the roller too but I don't feel a stretch unless I use the roller, I think I am lucky and didn't have super tight hip flexors.

I have like a hundred jobs 🙂 I'm a makeup artist so in the summer i do tons of weddings, I also have a waitressing job that is really flexible with scheduling. I only started teaching a month ago, right now I teach 2-4 classes per week. However my studio is 40 mins away so I try to teach 2 classes back to back if I can. I just started teaching and am now starting a new waitressing job so I am currently trying to work out a schedule so my own practices aren't being neglected like they have been the past month. I teach privates as well, usually after my class or on a day off. I also have my own hair accessory and jewelry line 🙂

I think you can tailor the lessons to your personal needs so you can start where you are at personally. So if you've never done pole I think starting with the strength training moves and basic spins and transitions are good, and move up. If you have experience then I think you can look at the moves in the section for your level and decide which ones are achievable for you. I love that the lessons are structured so anyone can start them at any time!
