I had a part that was messed up so my pole wouldn’t screw together correctly and they replaced it for me with no trouble and I had it a few days later, they are fab at customer service! Congrats on ordering your pole you will love it!

The carousel and peter pan are the same thing I believe…and the plank is close to what you’ve described but I’ve only seen it with one hand (usually below the dancer.) When I learned the plank I just learned it from a basic climb but she will have to be able to tilt her body back and be able to let go with at least one hand. Once she learns the crucifix the cross knee release isn’t terribly hard to learn after that, this was actually one of the first moves I learned but you do need to trust yourself that you can hold on with your legs. I saw your profile pics and you are fab so I’m sure she will learn a lot from having such a great teacher!

Veena I am having the same problem…I love 80s songs and I love love love Madonna there are so many good ones so I had the toughest time deciding but I finally picked one and if my vid turns out the way I want it to I think it’s going to be quite funny…I better get crackin’ on practicing though! Can’t wait to see everyone’s vids!

I’m a bad bad girl and im not sure if my pole is between two joists because the stud finder wouldnt work and i was a little sketchy about my knocking method, but my house is only 12 years old so our ceilings are pretty stable. I have yet to have a problem…but im going to go practice now and watch the entire ceiling fall on my head because i wrote this. the pony will save me!

And yes squats are also fantastic you can even do them while you watch tv!

I have the same problem…and some days I just have ‘off’ days where I have terrible practices and I feel very weak those days also. I find it best when I do heavy poling one day and then take 1-2 days to recover depending on if I’m very sore or not and then do the heavy poling again. I’ve been using the inbetween days to work on easier spins and transition moves…pretty much anything where I don’t do a lot of weight bearing with my arms so they can recover. It’s best to let your muscles rest between workouts so they can repair themselves, if you get back into it too soon they don’t get stronger and we don’t want that! Good luck https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Don’t feel bad I have been interesting in pole dance for almost a year now and I just recently started figuring out the names of some moves! Veena’s lessons are really good and she names a lot of the holds and spins and she breaks everything down very nicely so I highly recommend buying them they’ve helped me tremendously!

Hi there! This site is very informative and everyone here is extremely supportive and helpful so you will not be dissapointed. I’m vaguely interested in dancing at a club (or more likely going to an amateur night) so I might be asking you lots of questions https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif Welcome…you should drop into the chat room tomorrow sometime and join the group chat! xoxox glitter

It would depend on how long you were being hired to dance for…I’m not sure if you want to do it for a few hours or just do a few sets and break them up. I belly dance at a hookah bar and I break my show up into two sets because then I can take a break and give a chance for new people to come in. I charge a flat rate instead of hourly because I don’t even dance for a full hour…I make $75 for two fifteen minute sets plus any tips the audience gives me. You can use that as a ballpark range and base it off that because I think the going rate for dance performances at clubs/bars is around there. Most gogo dancers make about $125 a night but they dance for longer. I definitely would not undercharge him especially if you bring your pole with you. I would say anywhere between the two figures I gave you would be fair, but also calculate your time/gas money into that. Good luck and let me know what you decide https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I’m having the same problem! I can’t seem to get the pole in the crook of my armpit and I start sliding down right away. Even when I have a bra on so my skin can grab the pole it feels like the skin on my sides is ripping off. I feel silly because it looks fairly simple for the level I’m at now but I just can’t get it!
