  • It is possible although i certainly can’t do it! I have seen Blondbird do it, but she is a beast. Pretty sure she has magical pole powers. Lol.

  • I also use true and cup interchangeably. I’ve heard people call it Chinese grip too, because it’s very common in Chinese pole. The grip that krazykitty described above i would call a split grip, just a regular old split grip.

I’m pretty sure that most moves, if not all, done with twisted can be done with other grips. I believe cup grip is your most likely option. I think it is harder but it can be done!

Yep I don’t fit into a lot of my old tops. Had to replace a lot of clothing over the 5+ years that I’ve poled. It is going to change your shape in many ways. Enjoy the experience! 💝

Forgive me if I’m repeating an earlier suggestion, I didn’t read the entire thread. You could try dancing in shoes, they add weight to your feet making everything (especially straight leg work) much harder!

Workout is in progress but I just had to stop and post. I decided to limit myself to 5-10 tries for the Aysha, I’m a little obsessed and it’s easy for me to get carried away. Lol. Out of 10 tries I got it twice and held it for what felt like a couple seconds so probably more like 1 second each! Progress feels soooo good. 😆😆😆 💪💪💪

You guys are so busy! I’m hoping to do some conditioning and trick practice this afternoon. Still working on that aysha, and who knows what else.

I can’t think of any where specific but you could try searching for dance wear or gymnastics leotards. Also try Walmart for “base layer” clothing. It is an active wear, sweat wicking material that might work for you, and only about $12 a piece.

I am dustbunny.00 I don’t have pole pics up yet but hope to at some point! In the meantime I’m more of an ig stalker. 😉

  • Veena has great exercises and stretches for the forearms. It is a muscle group we use a lot in pole dancing and tend to forget to do conditioning and stretching. 🙂

Ok so I hurt my back shoveling snow about a week ago, so I have been resting, foam rolling, light stretching but that’s about it. Yesterday though I had a pole play date that went well. I kind of took it easy and didn’t push myself too hard, any kind of twisting still hurts but inverting and spins seem to be fine, yay! Tonight I have dance class, I missed it last week due to the snowstorm, but am excited to be back at it tonight.

I’m with tblue, I have a real video camera (not a phone, and not a still camera that has a “video” mode) and the tripod on the table!

What about regular radio? Or a youtube Playlist? Or my own private CD collection? There are so many ways of accessing music nowadays. I don’t understand how a regulatory body would even catch you?

You can do it Savy! Today I worked on aysha again with a goal of bringing my legs back to the pole instead of allowing myself to “fall” out of it. Even if i can’t get the Aysha yet I can work on nice form. It’s still close but still not there… video to come when I have time. Tried a couple other things too, but I’ve been sick for the last few days and the Aysha’s pretty much wiped me out.
I’m happy with that for today. 😴

So this thread has really got me thinking about names. For one of my poles I wanted a strong powerful female name and I came up with Boudicca (pronounced Bo-di-see-a). A strong fierce female warrior from what is now the UK. She brought together the waring tribes to push back the Roman invasion. Although she was eventually defeated, I admire her strength and determination, 2 qualities that are needed in this sport.
For my second pole I think I want something softer yet still powerful. I hadn’t decided yet but maybe one of the Greek or Roman goddesses. A name that inspires the softer flow, maybe the more feminine sexy side of my dance. More research is required…

I have 2 45 mm chrome poles in my living room and neither have a name. I have wanted to, but can’t think of anything that I feel is suitable.

  • I’m nowhere near you but lots of us do Skype! Although being in different time zones can make things tricky sometimes. I’m in EST and prefer week day afternoons. Feel free to message me if that might work for you. ☺

Yes! Here in Ontario we now have snow on the ground. That was depressing when I woke up to that a couple days ago.
It usually doesn’t hit me too hard until after the new year, I’ll be to busy to think too much about it until then. Staying active helps, along with some quiet indoor hobbies like crochet or reading. It’s hard though when it’s dark by dinner time…
The last 2 winters I have ended up seeing a councillor by February just to help me get through the worst of it.

I have had an off-week. Which sucks because I was off work and hoped to use some extra time to pole. 2 days this week when I had a good workout planned, my plans feel apart due to life happening and throwing in some extra surprises. Now, I work all weekend and will have little time for myself or working out until Monday! 😕
