Thank you all so much. I’m probably just being overly emotional but I literally have tears running down my face from the support that the members of this community have for one another.
I will try to be strong and stick this out until the end, one day at a time, while at the same time trying to keep up with my own needs. On those days that are worse than others I will definitely take you folks up on the offers to inbox you to chat more in depth.
Thanks again *hugs* -
Thank you so much for your responses. It does make me feel a little better to know that other people get how I feel about this, even if it doesn’t change anything about the situation. You guys are fantastic!

And a beautiful smile while doing it!

You could try checking your firewall or ad blocking software. They usually have a section where you can allow certain sites to have more freedom. If you can find a setting for it give studioveena.com full access maybe that will help, but I’m no expert.

Any aysha, and the ability to maintain balance and move my legs anywhere. Had started on this last year but haven’t touched it in a long time.

… stupid phone.
Other than that you seem to have a good mix of strength, Cardio, and flexibility.(Canfitpro group fitness instructor and pole fitness owner/instructor)

I think you can probably add pole to Fridays for sure without overdoing it and if you get an extra workout in occasionally on the weekends or throughout the week you’ll be doing well. Be careful about training pole on your yoga days if you’re worried about overdoing it on your forearms and core. If you do try it just take it slow at first and see how you feel. You may just have to be careful about what muscle groups your using. ie. Avoid split grips if you did a lot of chatarungas at yoga.

Hopefully this will help put your mind at ease. There is NOTHING that CAN'T be done on any of the commonly available sizes. 🙂 Hand grip is generally better/easier on a smaller diameter, and leg grips are generally better/easier on a larger diameter. But I originally learned how to sit on a 38mm, the smallest. It was fine. You will just get used to whatever you have. 🙂

I am probably the worst person to answer this, because I am the same way…I kill plants. My thumbs are about as black as they can get, LOL.
What I do is plant perennials, make sure you have varieties that will be in bloom throughout the season, and they come back year after year without much work or expense. All you have to do is pull the weeds. 🙂
Here are some of what I have: tulips and daffodils come up early in the spring, violets are not far behind. Hostas fill up large spaces (and get bigger every year) and have flowers that bloom in the summer. Tiger lillies are another one that spread, they have big orange flowers in the summer. Snow in Summer is a low lying plant with small white flowers that blooms throughout the season.
I also have a bunch that I don't know what they are called…my favorite has small pink and purple flowers that bloom in early summer, but the leaves are pretty all summer long, they are green with whitish polka dots. It's another one that spreads.
Rose bushes are pretty hardy too, I nearly killed mine last year when I was weeding. I grabbed a handful of it by mistake (the weeds were so big it was buried), thought it was dead for sure but what do you know, it decided to come back this year. It's pretty weak and small, I don't think it will bloom this year, but it has lots of new growth so hopefully next year…as long as I don't ruin it again. LOL
Just make sure you check where you are planting them, does it get full-sun, mostly shade, does the ground stay wet or is it fairly dry. Usually the tags on the plants, or info on seed packages will tell you how much sunlight they need, when they bloom, how much to water, etc.
Oh, one more tip about perennials, especially the kinds that spread. I've gotten nearly all of mine for free from family and neighbours. You can also get them cheap at yard sales too as people are always trying to cut them back!

Both outfits are super hot but if you’re worried about your stretch marks I would go with the second one. I think it has more coverage in that area. 🙂

Wow loved it! Makes me want a professional pole photo shoot

Good advice! You can also try pushing your feet off a wall instead of a step or table. 🙂

I generally don’t encourage jumping to grip aids too soon. Give yourself Some time, hand strength will come with practice. 🙂

I had forgotten that most people use the Veena grip for the flip. Is it possible to do with a regular double cup grip? Maybe my first step will have to be getting comfortable with a new grip.

To clarify, yes book to the ground and eventually to a pole sit.

I do a bit of both when I teach. Since I teach really small classes, I personalize it to whatever the background is, or try both and see how they respond. Sometimes I use a combination, I don't just count the numbers, but substitute more descriptive words. "Inside, Outside, Back to the pole…"

Thanks for Your input ladies. | just want to add that | do all my stretches, lunges, etc. squared and only Open up my hips to drop lower at the very end. Welcome aboard! Definitely get the lessons. The full year is the best value BY FAR and is not automatically recurring. The 1 or 2 month options will automatically renew every 1 or 2 months unless you go into your paypal account and cancel the subscription. By the way, you can cancel the subscription at any time and not lose the time you have paid for. Example: If you buy the 30 day option you can cancel the subscription in paypal the same day and still have 30 days of lesson access. That way you don't have to keep track of the days you have left.
And yes, as a beginner you will likely have little to no grip and very little upper body strength (unless you have done other activities that train those areas), but don't worry Veena's lessons start right at the very beginning and will help you to build up gradually. She has a lot of variety of lessons too, stretching, pole moves, conditioning, hoop, foam rolling, and even lap dance! You can go into the lesson section and see the variety and quantity of lessons available without buying them too, you just can't actually watch them. 🙂
Good luck with your journey and feel free to post as many questions as you have, you can also try searching your questions on the site and finding answers in old threads. Don't get discouraged, pole dancing isn't easy, but if you stick with it you have so much to gain.

I agree with Chemmie, I have had Many jobs where I was the only woman or one of very few women. Don’t take it personally at this point, there are many reasons they could be acting strange or uncomfortable and more than likely they are just not used to having a woman around. Just be yourself and do the best job you Can do. Give them a chance to get to know you, and vice-versa. 🙂 They will adapt and you will probably make some friends. But just like Any workplace You won’t get along with everyone all the time. If you don’t make gender an issue then most others won’t either.
Good luck with your new job. I hope you enjoy it and get that new SV pole, l want one too! 🙂
