@AerialGypsy There. Are. Pole. Dance. Memes?!?!?!?
Other than PDA’s pole comics…I had no idea. By the way, love the one you posted. I’m not so great at this one, and everytime I watch one of my videos I cringe at my feet. -
Found them finally by linking from the facebook page. If anyone else was looking for them here is the new website: http://poledancingadventures.com/

That’s a really pretty spin. I’ve never seen it before. I think I’m going to have to go try that one right now.
-
It happens to the best of us at times. Don’t let it get you down and try not to feel frustrated. Go back to conditioning excersices for a week or two and try again. That usually works for me. 🙂

This is harder than it looks so dont worry if you cant get it right away. Rune is right, although there is some pull up it is less about pulling up and more about spinning momentum, timing and coordination. Post a vid of your attempts and we could advise you better.

Dont forget that overuse and a lack of rest will put you back farther than not practicing at all. Poling everyday is not good for most people. Enjoy the holidays!

Are you sure it’s arm strength…both those moves are very much about core strength as well. 🙂 Maybe you’re just doing too much core.
-
I’m the same as Erin. If I’m learning a new trick or working on something that takes a lot of strength, I’ll only practice it every couple weeks at the most. I do a lot of “mental” practice in between though if that makes sense. Watching the video (if I recorded my attempts), visualization, and thinking about what I did right, what I did wrong, what I want to do differently next time. I gain strength faster and get the move more consistently that way rather than pushing my muscles to overdoing it.

I saw a great tutorial on youtube recently. I think it was Charlee Wagner. She breaks it down nicely and shows a nice way to spin into it from a basic plank.

She started an event page. Looks like mid January for submissions. 🙂

I’ve been working on Aysha (any grip) for over a year now. That has to stay on the list. I also want superman fall, shouldermount flip to sit, allegra, jade, brass monkey, and loads more. Lol

I actually filmed this last month, but since I don’t have much time for dancing these days I’m using this for my Nov challenge. Enjoy!

Lyme, I hope that I am half as strong as you at your age! Forget the number and enjoy what you have accomplished in the last year. Happy belated birthday. 🙂

Relax about the aysha, it sounds like it’s probably in her level 2, but that doesn’t mean you have to be able to do it yet. It just means that you will be able to learn it in that level. As far as the solo goes, explain to her that it means a lot to you and she may be able to help you coreo something regardless of what level you end up in. 🙂
Good luck with your assessment, and remember to relax. -
A video of your attempts or a link to someone else doing the move would be helpful. I can’t quite picture what you mean. 🙂

How did I miss that?
-
And while doing some midnight internet surfing I just found out that there was a canadian pole expo a couple weeks ago in mississauga.
-
There have been a couple showcases in downtown Toronto in recent years. One in October 2011 and again in the spring of 2012. Miss pole dance Canada has been held in BC for the last few years. And there used to be a “pole camp” held every September in Alberta. 🙂

My dad drove the whole family to Michigan (from Ontario, Canada) for my birthday and to see my first showcase. They also both came to the showcase I performed in Toronto, and the second showcase that I wasn't even really in. I was working for the show, cleaning poles, selling tickets etc. and they still came, just to support our sport!. My dad sees and comments on my photos and videos on facebook, it's not a big deal for us. He's happy if I'm happy. 🙂

Super cute and sexy! Feeds my inner geek.

I don’t know but I’d love to see

Gymnastics also has a lot of emphasis on safe falling and spotting too. You may be able to learn something from them too.
