Which is kind of sad because she was a riot when she was here, especially in chat.

It is one piece so it really is not able to be taken on holiday.

A friend of mine just was telling me about your studio last weekend. She is intrigued by the silks but was unsure due to a foot injury. I told her if you offered aerial hammock she would probably love that.

What is meant by "natural brass"? Both PS and XPole sell a polished brass pole in 45mm.

I am not a fan of chair spin nor am I a huge fan of the jade split. Genie to me is just ugly as is the variation of it called daredevil. There have also been a few moves that while impressive just do not have pretty lines and I think "why?".

My first pole was a hot pink LM. The old instructions used to have you tightening the pole further while it was up. What this would do is score your ceiling where the white piece sits and then with time that piece of drywall would break loose creating a gap and your poel would come crashing down. LM has since changed their installation directions to where you no longer spin the pole to make it tighter while it is up. I have not heard of a single person who has destroyed their ceiling since they changed their instructions.
That said, I had mine installed in my garage directly in a joist (no drywall ceiling in my garage) for over 3 years without it ever shifting or coming down on me. I am 5'8" and weigh anywhere between 150 and 165. Mine was installed on top of a piece of panelling that sat on top of of concrete. I did not use the pad, just the feet. As with all poles, if you follow the directions for installation and check them regularly you should be fine.
As another side note, S Factor has had LM poles in their studios since day 1. 6 years ago you had PS and LM and PS were ridiculously expensive poles (their old wooden stage poles used to be $1500!!).

Sally Beauty used to make a product called 3-Step Emergency Repair that was the best product out there for overprocessed hair, however they no longer sell it. I am not sure why. I would look at a protein filler treatment to help restore the bonds and as Glitter said, a deep conditioner.

Most studios will bump the price of a workshop if the polebrity allows it. Some say they cannot and just give a percentage of their total take. There was a studio I was considering going to for one of Alethea's workshops until I saw the price, and I know full well that there was at least $25-30 per person tacked on to her normal price.

IUD insertion/removal – 10 but worth every bit of pain
Belly Button piercing – 2 actual (although I rushed out 5 minutes after it was in), 4 the next day
Knee hold – 5
Remi – 5-6
Yogini – 7
Hello Boys misroll over lady bits – 8 + infection
Abscessed tooth – 9
Herpes on eye (think cold sore on eye) – 10+++++ I did not know that you can get cold sores on any part of your face. I still have what looks like chicken scratch on my right eye from this. I think that is by far the most pain I have ever been in in my entire life.

Not to side track this but I am on my second Mirena and I have not had children. It is not supposed to be as painful for those who have had their cervix stretched. My first one was not horrible going in but I had ridiculous cramps for about 3 months during when I should have had my period. I used to get bad cramps on about day 2 but this was different….more like really bad gas/bloating/constipation type pain. My second was a nightmare but I attribute that to the doc I had. First she had problems getting my first one out which was a nightmare. Then I had to wait 10 days for them to order it for me and go back in for the insertion. She botched the insertion and I had to wait another 10 days for a new IUD. They gave me a pill that is typically used to induce labor (I think it was cytotec) which basically made me feel like I was having contractions for a day but made the insertion go with out a hitch. Not without pain, but without a hitch. I also insisted that the first doc did not do the insertion, I wanted someone with a little more experience as the first was skittish and made me uncomfortable.

I have learned 2 different ways of getting into this move. One is the butt up which kind of requires you to be able to lift into a handstand. In this one your body is pretty much always facing the ground until you invert. The secdon way is actually from a flag where your body is facing away from the pole to start and then you are changing positions. This mount requires a decent straddle split and some back flexibilty. Basically you go into flag, then straddle split your legs and then beckbend/fang them while simultaneouly changing into a face down position to get your leg to the pole. If you have a great straddle split you can pretty much reach the pole with your top leg and then use that to guide you.

8 hours at $125/hour is $1000. Depending on what all is involved I really do not think that is too crazy for privates. I have paid $50-80 for a 90 minute workshop where there were many others in the room so an intensive one on one for an entire day at that price I don't think is out of line. Would I pay it, no, but not out of line.

How did you pay for the pole? You can file a dispute with your credit card company.

-
All of the top pieces of the permanent mounts I have seen by PS were metal. The dome I believe is plastic but you will not have this with a perm mount.
-
Mostly self taught with the exception of stopping in studios and weekly play time at a local studio. Best things I have learned along the way is to not rush things as that leads to injury, do not be so hard on yourself and ruts/plateaus happen.

MemberApril 2, 2013 at 8:20 pm in reply to: I wonder how much of inverting is mental….Lay with your head by your pole and feet facing away. Grab pole over your head and lift your legs straight up. Now try to get your butt off the floor and touch the pole. Lower legs down slowly and repeat, although this time spread your lega and try to straddle arond the pole and touch the ground behind you. Lower. Repeat from straight leg. Reapeat. Repeat. Repeat. It is the second part of the lift (getting your butt off the floor) that allows you to get your crotch to the pole.

Saphyre, do you have problems with wine? Chondroitin is typically chondroitin sulphate (did I just seriously spell it that way?) and typically those that have issues with sulfates like with wine may have a reaction to this.
Pixie- sulfa medications are a sulfanomide, not a sulfate. They both contain sulfur but are very different structures. I am also extremely allergic to sulfa's but do not have issues with sulfates.

One thing that the one girl here did is take a piece of pvc pipe and thread it through both elbows and behind her back (you can probably even use a broom stick). If you can reach your hands around and grab the inside of your thighs as you do for say teddy you should be able to get into the move. Holding it is another story. HOWEVER, if you cannot grab your inner thighs then do not even attempt this move.

You DO have to use core strength and lots of it. Starting out it helps if you can grab the inner thigh with your top hand to stabilize the hold instead of relying completely on your core.
