Veena had a poster available at one point in time. Maybe check with her or Webby?

If this is indeed what it is it will take more than a week for it to go away. This is a pretty common strain with people who lift weights but as with all strains a week of recovery is not long enough.

I would suggest maybe learning a little more about the site before you trash talk the creator. There were quite a few comments that were deleted from this thread.

I used to teach on XSL's, the wobble is not noticeable when you are on them.

  • Have you tried posting on The Chrome Bar FB page?  I know a few that are going….maybe they can share a room?

Stuff that can be done on short pole:

double inside leg hang, double layback, star gazer, front knee hook, numerous spins, pike/sit, death lay/plank, knee hold, sit/inverted V (person on top as the "pole"), inside leg hang/inverted splits

Just a side note, for the most part Michelle and Katie do not choreograph any of their routines.  Every time you see them on stage it is freestyle.

Also look up the Head Over Heels troupe Dakota Fox and Bonnie Cozmo.

I would call X Pole.  There is a product out that is amazing but I would not use it on my pole without checking with them first.  BTW, the product is called Quick Glo.  http://www.quick-glo.com/  It is hands down the best rust remover on chrome I have ever used (also great for bicycles, bumpers and wheels).

ADawn86, seems like the only reason you are on here is to say how great this company and this cheap knock off is.

What stage pole are you using?  I have done doubles on an X with no issue and I am 5'8".  I would suggest watching Gravity Plays Favorites on youtube.  They have a fairly short pole and do a ton of doubles stuff.

You have to remember that not only are you buying a quality pole, you are buying customer service.  I have had my pole for a few years now and know that I can contact X Pole at any time if I have an issue with it and get replacement parts.  Try doing that on a cheap knock off.  You may be able to get replacements if something is not right when you get it, but later down the road you are SOL.

I do not have the shoulder and wrist felxibility to even grab the pole for this shoulder mount. I do not think it is as bad as the handspring and it make some transitions easier due to hand placement.

To me it is a huge thing (positive) that your universities even have this.  I cannot think of a single one in the US that has such a society, specifically pole, on any campus.  If anyone can prove me wrong I would love to hear about it.  This is what has me in awe.

Wait…you have university backed Pole Societies?  At several universities?

Sorry….this alone has set me in awe.

Walk away from the studio and don’t go back. I personally would not get involved in it at all. If the studio owner knows and anything happens then she will be held liable. The last thing you want to do is step in with law enforcement and possibly ruin people’s lives that may not even be involved. What you are saying here, with regards to alcohol, is hearsay. If you did not witness it then yout are relying on gossip. As for the drugs, do you know for sure what it was?

When I first started doing the flip I could not get myself all the way over and my "flips" pretty much looked like this (with me falling afterwards).

It is called a shoulder mount flip and you have to go over the shoulder that is on the pole.  I have found that the flip is so much easier with the Veena grip as you have more control after the flip portion than you do in standard cupped grip.

This is SUPER scary to learn on your own and I would not do it without a spotter the first few times.

I just heard the other day of another PS multipiece that broke in half.  It is only a few years old.  If you are going with PS get a one piece but then you are stuck with one size.  I am pretty sure it can be cut down but you cannot lengthen it (beyond the 6 or so inches standard).

WOW…I just reread my post and it sounds really bitchy.  Did not mean it that way.  But as I always say, there is no such thing as a safe cheap pole.

Calendula or arnica.  Calendula is amazing for healing cuts.  It works GREAT on zits too!  This is the stuff I have: http://www.swansonvitamins.com/boiron-calendula-cream-2-5-oz-cream?SourceCode=INTL405&CAWELAID=327687798&catargetid=530002460000000567&cadevice=c&mkwid=tajrpZ3o&pcrid=18953397607&cagpspn=pla&gclid=CMTsg8LckboCFU-Z4AodaREAwQ

You should be able to find it in natural health stores, probably will be around $10-14 in the stores.

That is a piece of garbage and she will end up getting rid of it and spending the money twice.  Do you see the parts that put the pieces of the pole together?  They are plastic.  She would be better finding a used pole on craigslist than buying that pole.

I would recommend a call to xpole. I am not sure what you mean by black and There should not be a gap between the pole and the adjuster cover.
